its on the plan for this weekend. There was a hold up that has now been resolved keeping me from getting the two other server videos I wanted to put togehter done.
It does, your not looking in the right place. you find them wherever you installed the game on the local drive so by default its C:\Program Files (x86)\Farming Simulator 2025 if you didnt change where the game installs.
@@FarmerKlein Sorry, I expressed myself badly, it's the version bought through the Xbox Store, not from the FS25 website. And no, I can't find the files, the same thing happened with FS22 so I had to use the Epic Games version to create a dedicated server. I don't know why this happens.
I have a second copy and steam account just for servers and having issues where it wont start and it creates a new folder in my documents called "MY" and cant figure out how to get it to work I've run fs22 servers the same way for awhile with no issues but having major issues with fs25 dont really wanna buy another copy of fs25 after already buying 2 copies i know other people are having same issues has anyone found a work around for it yet?
im sorry I have never run a steam server for farm sim. I find the Eshop copy much easier to work with for that purpose. I know getting the Epic version to work as a server was a pain in the ass.
@FarmerKlein my FS22 server on steam was easy just like your setup in this video only difference is when you start dedi server it pops up with a steam box and you just click continue still have to do windows firewall rule exceptions and port forwarding but overall the same setup never had any issues with FS22 but man fs25 has proven to be a nightmare guess that teaches me not to preorder multiple copies lol I'm considering buying a third copy from giants website are you aware of any issues with servers on that end?
Some mods are not compatable with servers. Within each mod there is a moddesc.xml file. Within that file should be an entry to define if the mod can or cant be put on a server. I think if the line is missing its evaluated as false also. Sometimes just changing it to true or adding the line with a true value will work and other times no. When things do not appear on the server always check the log file to see what the server had to say about it.
@@FarmerKlein Mods that can be loaded on the server and activated can't be used once they arrive in the game, such as SuperStrength and storeDeliveries
Check your documents folder and see if there's a folder in their called "MY" if your using the steam version it seems to be messing up the launch path and creating that MY folder
beyond being absolute overkill if you have it sure. This video is related to setting it for your home so most folks would not have access to windows server vs say an old system with an OEM license to windows that could be upgraded to 11 at no real cost.
That's basically what the server is except its not producing graphics output nor does it consume a player slot. As such its using a fraction of the power that a computer would be running any GPU in 3d mode. For the system I demonstrated running the server it uses an AMD 5700U processor which is a low power mobile chip that consumes at most 15W. Even in areas of the world with high power bills I doubt anyone will notice over the course of a year something consuming less than 15W being on vs not. A second gaming PC with the game up running a local MP session would be noticed 24x7 365 for sure. Plus its consuming one of the player slots. The server does not consume a player slot.
Can you make a video for those of us that want to allow server management (downloading mods from server directly) and adding admins for server control

found server finally but it showing default and now password when it has house icon that is it correct?
I bought the windows version and it doesn't have the dedicated server files, do you know anything about that?

logfile: Error: Unable to start game server process
@@Mohamed-i8s4w having this same issue.
I have this problem too and cant get server to start maybe its good idea to open ports in router settings
i have the same problem. idk what the issue is

@@Mohamed-i8s4w what version of fs25 are you guys running the Giants/eShop or steam ?
18:30 of course the ONE thing I'm looking for isn't being covered here.
which is what?
@@FarmerKlein how to make yourself an admin to create farms, but I figured it out
ah, ok ya managing the server will be a separate video

I run each game version (17 to 25) on Windows server under a virtual machine. On Windows hyper v.
If I have a second copy of the game on a 2nd pc, couldn't I just run the game on the 2nd account constantly on multiplayer?

@@FarmerKlein That's a very well thought out explanation. Thanks for that!
