I agree that when I try to be objective about it, Moepi (Shio) and Chunrun (Emma) are 2 of the best singers in Niji when I focus on the vocal quality. (Also, props to the 2 voicing Setsuna, and props to Akarin, though Akarin is typecast in some of her Kanata songs). I feel that Emma's songs are underrated by a lot of people. I'm glad you recognize how good she is. Aion no Uta is definitely top 5 no matter what.
Yes I totally underrated Chunrun early on - seeing her live performance of Aion no Uta impressed me so much. But even before I realized her vocal power, I thought all of Emma's songs were super cute and fun. Evergreen has been a long-time favorite of mine. Even when I took a hiatus from love live it remained in my library. It's such a unique sound. I'd love to hear Kanata do more different sounds in the future. I do think 3 of her solos very similar. Akarin can pull off a lot more styles, and her voice is lovely. But I'm also biased since Emma and Shio are a couple of my favorites.
Tbh unless they're REALLY low I probably like them a lot. The issue with the lower half is so many of the songs are ranked interchangeably. I like most of them but not more than my favorites
Dang, this came at a super late time for me so I don't have enough brain space to write a proper comment rn but first impressions are yeah, Shio definitely has the most consistently good-quality solos. Mia not so much. I wish they would hire someone fluent in English to write her songs, cause her voice is fantastic but the lyrics really detract from it.
YES absolutely. I genuinely like Mia and a couple of her songs. But I wish they'd lean into a more rock sound for her, and that the lyrics would be a little better. Lemonade was a big disappointment for me.
@@madisonsveen9396If they had a better English lyricist and leaned into a more rock/punk sound they could get Mia songs that perfectly match early Avril Lavigne type energy as the way Shu sings already gives me those vibes but the music/lyrics doesn't quite match that vibe yet and makes Mia's songs suffer sadly (I still do like all of the songs even Lemonade but her songs are also low on my Niji list)

Tobin PFP, hell yeah This was a pretty refreshing list honestly, a lot of surprising placements like Dream With You below Sengen and Eieisa at #1 which I did NOT expect at all. Eieisa probably would be pretty high up on my own list, idk what my #1 would be tho. I also love that you put Koizuru Sunflower so high, I think it’s a sleeper hit even if it feels like it shouldn’t be to me for some reason…? Idk why lol. Excellent video!
