You can't talk about Bobs Sapp's career without mentioning his wins over legitimate k1 fighters before his m1 career. Possibly k1 wasn't the best of the best, or it was just Bob at the peak of his roids and having 100lbs or so over them, but they were hw's there just wasn't a maximum weight in Japan at the time, no need to cut weight, basically sumo rules.

The thing about Brock, he ultimately proved his hype to be real. While he was green as a striker, he had KO power, legitimate world class wrestling and dominant top game. Had tied for longest title defense streak with the other greats before Stipe went one more than all of them. Cutting the title line was a combination of Popularity for ticket sales, Age with the late start shortens career window, and he answered a lot of the questions in how he beat Heath Herring. Scary dominant ground and pound with a constant control-first mindset, unlike his Mir fight. Technique not just brute force. He went all 15min doing so, passing a basic gas tank test failed by many heavyweights, for a 5 round title shot. His previous loss to Frank Mir was from a lack of discipline, here he had more than most. Goes on to fight Randy Couture. Captain America, the most well rounded champion at the time and an olympic caliber wrestler himself. Brock should lose. Brock KO's Randy with a crippling right straight, his worst skill set getting better. Immediately defends against Mir, who himself was cut in front of for the title. Mir comes in 20lbs heavier and more muscle bound, to take away Brock's strength and win even easier a second time. Brock should lose. Instead Brock completely dismantled Mir, and finishes him inside of 2 rounds, another brutal one. He was now finishing elite talent with just a couple years of dedication to the sport. Weathered the storm against Carwin, a man of nearly equal size with Brocks kryptonite, deadly striking. Brock was supposed to lose again. Almost did, but His massive arms came in handy for turtling his head and that cardio just keeps going. He then shows off further BJJ knowledge by purposely going for that Submission win rather than a KO this time. The comes Cain and Overeem... and well, Cain was the new era of heavyweight, and in his prime is still the best heavyweight champion ever imo. Alistair, simply put, is the best heavyweight striker to ever fight MMA, and also one of the biggest in UFC like Brock, so that was that. Brock was a short-lived wrecking ball, but I truly believe had he gotten into MMA training 10, 15 years earlier like everyone else, he would have ended up the longest reigning UFC Heavyweight champ the UFC ever had.
