Name map?
The main reason why it feels like Sonic Adventure, is because it's powered by the Digitial Swirl engine, which was made by the Sonic Onset Adventure Team, and is now made publicly available.
This game makes me think a lot of Sonic Adventure, due to you being able to skip chunks of a level with a well timed spindash jump and the game acknowledging that you can do that (via goodies)
I know it's like this game was built with speedrunning in mind
The DigitalSwirl Engine is practically a remake of the Adventure era games' physics and movement, so it would make sense to have the game be built like SA 1+2
Have a look at Sonic Onset Adventure for a better look at the similarities (I remember there being a video on it in one of these channels)
this is one of the best, I like it because it has levels instead of blank testing grounds to run around in, and it's really cool because of the model
If only Sonic Team stuck to & built off of their original gameplay formula when they transitioned to 3D 20 years ago, we might've had something like this.😮💨

What a fantastic take on something that acts as a 3D version of the retro gameplay. I can't help but imagine if something like this had been sold on the Sega Saturn that Sega might still be making consoles today.
I'm happy they aren't, I dislike the way Mario is a nintendo exclusive

Fun fact: relic ruins is actually not the name for this zone, its dubious depths or ridicule route. This zone has the da garden music. This stage was the r2 of sonic cd but it was scrapped because the this level was too slow to play. Relic ruins was proven to have alex lee's music, aka *take it*.

This game is cool but it’s so hard.
For the the game was literally unplayable. Sonic had no weight and was constantly flying all over the place and out of my control. I was constantly just dying despite nothing actually killing me. There's a section of the tutorial that is impossible if you spawn at the checkpoint before it since you need momentum from the previous section. The homing attack and light speed dash only works when it wants to. I get that it's still an early build and there will be bugs but this is just ridiculous. I physically cannot play the game until a new update is released with bug fixes and more thought out level design in the tutorial which is a shame because it does actually look really fun to play.
I feel ya, the game felt slippery for me too, and you better pray to god if you lose momentum when you’re on a slope or a loop bc you’re mostly likely going to fall and die
The jump gaps are TERRIFYING if you’re not going fast enough, and running speed just feels slow. It probably isn’t but it just feels that way.
Tutorial was possible after a few deaths, and Green Hill wasn’t bad at all, but Ruin Run?

There’s also the camera issue with slopes but I feel like that was a skill issue I had bc MOBILE

This is the only Sonic game that actually made me so mad
It's impossible to finish the tutorial on mobile
The slope thing is the annoying part. if you make it to the loop you'll be flinged into the void.
Actually you can beat it, it's just that it's difficult
The stupidly fast camera angle movement doesn't help much either
I've gotten used to it though, it's pretty good once you get the hang of it
