My heart breaks everytime I see Bill Bixby I think about how he lost his son his young son his ex-wife who shot herself over that situation and Bill Bixby getting cancer and dying from it. My heart just breaks for him he left us some great memories and he'll never be forgotten.
Bill Bixby was a very fine actor. He played all kinds of roles. From kind, gentle men to evil villains. He was an excellent actor who could play any role very well. My mom and I never missed an episode of The Incredible Hulk. He was only 59 years old when he died of cancer. That was way too young. RIP Mr. Bixby.
For some reason I thought he had died of AIDS, it must have been a rumor in the 1990's that stuck around with me. Just about any man that died at an early age at that time I think were suspected of having contracted AIDS.
I 100-Percent Agree! Ok I'm Sure That BB Had His Bumps Along The Way Personally. But To Lump Bill Bixby With Micheal Landon a Boozing, Unfaithful-Womanizer Is Ridiculous!
I've heard from more than one source that Michael Landon was NOT a nice person. His public persona was much different from he way he treated fans and some coworkers. Bill Bixby on the other hand, I've never heard a single negative thing about the man.
Indeed for Mark Rufallo will never be Bill Bixby. To me Bill Bixby is who I think of whenever I read an issue of the Incredible Hulk or when I envision Dr. Bruce Banner.
True Story.... back when Bill was in the third season of the show, one day while on the street a kid recognized him, and asked Bill if he had a son named Eddie... Bixby responded affirmative, and the kid immediately brought his single mother over to "meet" Eddie's "single" father! To try and get them together!
+diodoro73 I agree. I remember seeing an interview from the cast of the show Blossom (a show that Mr. Bixby was directing regularly right up until the time he died). They spoke of his unshakable work ethic and how inspite of just how very ill he was, he continued to direct even lying down, until he was finally sent home for the last time. Now that's a trooper!

I met Brandon Cruz at an autograph signing in the late 90's and I asked him about his appearance on the Arsenio Hall show. He said at the time he was recovering from injuries from a recent motorcycle accident and was still in some pain. Bill Bixby didn't know that and when he gave him the big bear hug he almost yelled out in pain but kept it in because Bill was so happy to see him. He's really a nice guy and we had a very pleasant conversation.
I was just a kid and loved The Courtship of Eddie's Father. When a child can have an appreciation for a show that's not animated and often deals with serious subjects, then you know you got it right. Great writing, great cast, just a classic show, and the theme song was one of the best ever!
I also love the theme song, as well as the opening and closing Peanuts segments, featuring Brandon Cruz and Bill Bixby spending time together having fun off the set.
Here is an actor, that you'll never EVER replace,as there are only one of a kind! Bill Bixby was such an actor, and its sad, that he is no longer with us-but its even sadder, because with today's present actors,a million times a million of these people will never top,or best the likes of Mr Bixby!
What a great reunion, so nice!! Mr. Bixby was one of my favorite actors, especially on the Hulk, he was such a compassionate man, such a shame that cancer took him so young. For some reason I always get emotional when I see him in clips or on TV, a special guy.
+AR John Totally agree, I was a fanatic of the hulk, back then I was only 11 or 12, I read about his real life as an actor and human being, a really interesting, positive, contributive, and valuable person, I just can't understand, and it really makes me wonder, why such a great guy like him had to go through such painful episodes in his late life, I refer to his wife suicide, the decease of his son, and eventually getting cancer, such a shame
Ricardo Falconi you're absolutely right. Losing his son, his wife's suicide. It's such a shame when we see such bad things happen to good people like Bill Bixby, very sad. And to stay so positive like he did up until the end, just amazing!! One of the last interviews he gave before he died talking about his experiences with his cancer and meeting other patients is so moving, so incredibly sad, but shows us just what kind of human being he was.
I watched every one of his tv shows. From everything I know he was a fine gentleman. I was broken hearted when he died.❤ I love the TV shows. We have now some of the best stuff in the writing is so good, but go back and look at some of these old shows. ❤ You will really find yourself enjoying them

Bill Bixby had such a wonderful range as an actor, from memorable roles such as a sailor in "Irma La Duce" to episodes of "The Twilight Zone", "Barnaby Jones" and so many others that he did in addition to his best known work. Bill Bixby was one of those actors who seemed to do what he did purely for the love of acting, and not for the fame. He had no ego when he was not in character, but still managed to come across as wonderfully entertaining.
bill was a great man so humble and full of compassion. And after i saw this interview ,the same can be said of mister arsenio hall. Arsenio has a lot of compassion. The success arsenio has enjoyed is because he is genuine , full of compassion and morality.
Besides being a fantastic actor, Bill Bixby was one of the most decent men ever to grace television and film; He also lived a life of heartbreak, while making others feel better. You don't get people like this anymore.
Bill Bixby, a wonderful and very serious actor along with Brandon Cruz, this was great TV way back. I am sure it is dated now, but the sentiment is not. I watched it regularly in first release. I wanted to grow up and BE Bill Bixby.
Wow I've never seen this on Arsenio show..I wish Bill Bixby was still with us..People would probably have him on cooking shows, interviews, commercial thx for sharing..

I truly miss you Bill, you were perfect in my favorite tv show of all time, The incredible hulk! Your performances in the episodes of the Hulk"A child in need, Married, Like a brother and many other episodes were as incredible as the word Incredible itself!!!
There's a (very) special bond between a boy and his father, and it wasn't until now that I realized that was why The Courtship of Eddie's Father resonated with me, and apparently millions of other boys (and I had a dad)....I gotta give Arsenio props for knowing the words to the theme song-and leading the audience in it.
The Courtship of Eddie's Fatjer was a few years before my time but I grew up watching The Incredible Hulk on television. Bill Bicby always struck me - even as a child - as a very kind and gentle man but he always had a shadow of sadness on his face that something told me was not part of his act on the show. Bill Bixny reminds me of my own father and I always drew comparisons to the two. Coincidentally my dad, who was never really a comic book fan loved The Incredible Hulk and watched it with me every Saturday night. He would get as excited as I would when Dr. Banner changed into Hulk and even my mother would tell us both to keep it down for fear of disturbing the neighbors. My dad could yell something fierce when he got excited. Now I have the series on DVD and although I am now so far from home - I now live in Asia while he is still back home in St. Lucia - Zheng and I talk every week and sometimes remember The Incredibke Hulk. My. Bixby, thank you so much for entertaining this 70's kid with the Hulk and The Courtship of Eddie's Father which I watched in reruns along with my own father. You were indeed an incredible actor and a wonderful and humble human being. Thank you so much. We miss you terribly.
I always liked this man , I was just a kid when hulk was on TV, other actors would say very nice things about him. All of his other shows were reruns to me born in 68, anyway I remember this and was touched by it.
Bill Bixby was a beautiful person inside and out! Compassionate and caring with projects he worked in and in his life. He had his share of heart aches in life. A class act. You passed to young....rest in peace!

From My Favorite Martian to Courtship Of Eddie's Father, The Hulk and Goodnight Beantown. I always thought he would have been just very cool to know. They don't make actors anymore like Bix.

The greatest moment in life. It really is, They can meet again, No I know people are lost in life, They are not forgotten, they will always be with us. Love all respect all
My own father was very distant and always far too busy with everything else he did. I wanted so much to have a father/son relationship with him. I was a late boomer, 1964, and every house in the neighborhood had children so it was very apparent that other fathers were more Involved in their children's lives. I would watch the show and pretend that was my life, my dad. Later my newspaper route served as a much needed catalyst for bonding, dad had a route up in Michigan as a boy. My mother's abusive nature probably helped to forward the notion of a motherless relationship as the ideal situation. Dad and I did finally developed that close relationship in his final months when I was there every day to cook his meals and help him through his day-to-day care. Now, 20 years later, we've moved into the house across the street and are caregivers for my mother who has advanced alzheimer's. Mom is at a point where I must often channel my inner Tom Corbett (Bixby) to convince her to cooperate with her caregivers for showers etc.
I wished the same, my father was abusive, and my mother was a angel. she developed Alzheimer's in her late 90's after my father passed. my sister cared for her the last year of her life, as I was a caregiver to my Signif, other who had end stage COPD, I was not able to be there for her. ☹
My heart breaks everytime I see Bill Bixby I think about how he lost his son his young son his ex-wife who shot herself over that situation and Bill Bixby getting cancer and dying from it. My heart just breaks for him he left us some great memories and he'll never be forgotten.

Bill was cut from the same mold as Michael Landon. Gentlemen with big hearts and able to write stories that tug at ours. RIP gents.

From the "Apple Dumpling Gang", "The Courtship of Eddie's Father", "My Favorite Martian" and the "Incredible Hulk" Mr. Bixby was awesome!
