    That moment in the middle of the song when you turned to Jedd and said "yeah!" and then smiled perfectly summed up this video.

    • @naterevolution
      @naterevolution 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Those moments are instances where you feel most connected to a musician and their music- Whether you’re in the audience or on the stage. Everyone is eligible for this experience. It’s the equivalent of being in the middle of making a good memory and sharing a smile with someone that means “I’m grateful to be here with you“. This is my absolute favorite part of music. I appreciate you uncle Larry for capturing this and I appreciate you Mike B for commenting on it!

    You and Jedd play beautifully together...staying out of each other's way and blending to make it sound like one instrument . Masters of your craft!

  • @padovann
    @padovann 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Man uncle Larry wasn’t exaggerating when he talked about jedd’s touch.. The two of you were a perfect choice for this gig! Everything hit right in the gut

    A lot of times when people say "less is more" they never give and example... This is the greatest example of it that I've ever seen. The notes you don't play are as good as the ones you do. Thanks Uncle Larry!

    This just tore me up. In so many great ways. Watching everyone give a masterclass in focusing on the song and working together. And thus getting lost in the song. Picking. Finger picking. Placement for where you pick the strings; closer to the neck or the bridge. All just completely fluid and brilliant.

  • @philroselle1514

    Watching you and Jedd together is a masterclass in taste, tone and feel

    Man, you can shred. That goes without saying. But lots of guitar players can shred. The thing that puts you on the short list in Nashville is knowing when NOT to shred. Your ear, touch and feel are ridiculously good. You've EARNED your spot on that list.

    Being on stage honoring a great friend with some of your best friends and childhood hero is such an awesome moment.👌
    I know this clip is rehearsal, but the whole experience must be incredible.
    Jedd, Paul, and Larry can definitely hang with anybody.🍻🤙

    So effing gorgeous! I really enjoyed that show for an artist who truly deserves the accolades.
    Uncle Larry singled out, stepping off the bandstand to stand next to Maren Morris and getting spontaneous applause for his killer solo.
    That Nashville crowd knows exactly who you are, and thanks to your YT channel, so do we.
    Mr. Sting had a note at the end. How cool!
    Thanks for posting! ;-)

  • @DavinSeamon
    @DavinSeamon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The show, band, and artists were excellent! Of the many amazing moments, Maren Morris coming back & interacting with you during your solo was one of my faves. I've been a fan of hers from early days and met her a few times, and this reinforced my appreciation for her as a person, as well as an artist/songwriter.
    All of the artists brought their A Game for Vince - and rightfully so!

    Tom i reallh enjoyed this dhow last night, I got home from work just in time and much to the chagrin of the wife and kids promptly took control of the main tv. Lol. But they all ended up enjoying the show every bit as much as i did. Vince Gill is a national treasure in my opinion. And my god so are you and Jedd!

    Entertaining show. Always great listening to other singer reinterpret songs. Best part by far was when Maren Morris brought the spotlight over to you during your solo, danced with you a little, then got the crowd to applaud you right after your solo. Well done.

  • @SpikeCutolo
    @SpikeCutolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That was one truly enjoyable tribute.
    I found it quite moving that you could clearly feel how deeply loved & well thought of Vince is as not one person veered into any accounts of him while adding a humorous touch. It was clear that folks wanted him to feel the love.
    Two other things I gotta mention is how early on, first tune..there you are looking right at the camera and giving it that "I'm in my very happy space" smile.. lol.
    I also noticed the fiddler and thought to myself how relieved he had to be to not have to attempt that Bluegrass tune you shared! I don't know if anyone else noticed him laughing at his own inability to catch a few riffs in that but he did so I'm sure he was more than happy with the actual setlist!
    Thanks so much (again) for bringing the show to our attention and I'm so thrilled for you to have not only been part of it but to be able to play with someone you admire as well 👍🕊

    Very nice! I can hear the Gilmore melodic influence in this solo...It's cool to see what I've learn in the "real life gigging situation" : 8 or 4 bars solo not to many notes, keep it simple and in tune with the mood of the song. That's it..... Not that "heroic guitar god long ass solo with fucking fireworks and all that poser shit"! Thanks for keeping it real Buk.
