Thanks based on your post I got one. I thought I had no batteries also but after 2 days found them on the bottom of the plastic, under meter

Also the audio cut out when you talked about range. Did it make it to 1000 feet?

I haven't tested to the entire 1000ft, but it works well through concrete walls and floors which normally block Bluetooth transmissions.
I'd imagine you'd need extremely ideal conditions to hit that range - no obstructions, walls, trees, buildings etc.

I haven't bought this yet because Amazon reviews say the alarms are loud and you can not disable them. You are saying you can turn it to flashing light? Interesting!
Another complaint they shut off after 2 hours, but I need for smoker up to 12 hours. Any feedback on how long you have seen it stay on?
    Great video!

You can set up alarms for the temperature, time etc, but I don't think you can disable the audio. Mind you if my meat was burning I'd probably want to know, so a loud audio alarm suits me!

I haven't had any issues with it turning off, though I've not used it for more than 2 hours. It is set to auto off if the receiver loses connection with the transmitter or if the temperature drops below 40 degrees Celsius.
