@@Cubs97 I grew up 1.5 hours away from Davis. It’s definitely an academic powerhouse with a lot of wealthy graduates and would have a massive endowment if the rules for UC’s allowed it to. Don’t get it twisted, the comment you’re responding is absolutely accurate.
As a UC Davis alumnus and former student athlete, I can’t believe I’m seeing my school featured in one of your video. As an Indiana University alumnus, this season is almost too good for words. 😁 Personally, I see Big Sky FCS football as an ideal fit for UC Davis’ football program. FBS is a difficult jump in the western states. Football exists at UC Davis because it has been successful for the past 50 years. I’m certain football would have long since disappeared from UC Davis had it prematurely grown into an expensive 1A or FBS door mat. I would rather see (and support) a perennial FCS playoff contender and possible championship contender at FCS than see a struggling under-resourced FBS program playing to an expanded half-empty stadium. My fear is that FBS MWC football would be the beginning of the end of football at UC Davis. I know my school, I know that region, and this is what my knowledge and intuition tells me.
I think seeing an ASU video would be cool. I always love hearing opinions on how they were 3-9 in 2023 and now have a first round bye and being the Big 12 Champion in 2024
Once UC Davis tries to be good at football, UC Regents will then do their best to destroy it's growth. Look at what's going on to UC Davis' brothers UCLA and Cal. They get big endowments but would not spend so much in athletics especially football.
It's especially stupid because there's no reason why football, and basketball needs to be a financial drain. Washingtons football program brings money into the university every year. The UC regents do everything possible to keep their programs from being competitive, then stupidly say "see, athletics are a drain". UW had the same problem in the early 2000s . There was no enthusiasm for the football program because the university leadership was not invested. The program wasn't making money at this point. Eventually, the leadership changed, and was invested in football. Magically everything changed.
👀 Never thought of that. My friend coaches track at UCSD. Says they’d never try for anything more than basketball and that was a stretch. Regents have no interest in athletics. Just being the most prestigious academic schools in the world. Which is cool but man, they can be so much more.
If FCS schools want to compete they need to freeze research grants and professor salaries and pump more $ into player salaries like all the top programs

This guy is the most naive person who constantly speculates and flip flops on different schools and teams. Not every school is going to the FBS to fulfill your NCAA football video game wet dreams. How is your video on the scary rise of Marshall going?
Before moving to the FCS UCD was a DII Powerhouse. I should know, I went to Sac State.
UC Davis is also a very prestigious university. One of the top public schools in the country. Lots of wealthy alumni=lots of NIL potential.
🤣🤣🤣🤣

UC Davis won 22 conference championships from 1971-1993, mostly under Jim Sochor as HC. You really undersold their history!
Seems like you the only one who cares
@drizzyuzumaki8753 You clearly do because you replied.
Sir it was Division II?
@@thecatwrangler9448 Yes, I was undergrad at Davis in the 70’s.

They’re prolly not gonna listen to you, but at least they’re gonna wait for some sustained FCS success before moving up

Did a whole long video on Sunday on them! Check it out!
I remember back in 2005, they were still D-II and they upset FBS/D-1A Stanford both in football and mens basketball. 👀
FCS is still Division ll. Call it what you want. It’s the same thing
@DJ_Cub No , actually FCS is D-1AA.
D-II is below FCS/D-IAA.
LET"S GOOOO. Finally Davis is getting some legit recognition. Class of '22 babyyyyyy

Davis stadium holds 10,000 not 20,000.
