They were drilled by hand with a pin vise (no Dremel) and hand painted (no airbrush)! I didn’t have any special tools as I’m a newbie, this is only my second GK build! 😱

I saw your earlier response about resin safety, and I’m glad you’re practicing that, but I didn’t see anything about the paint thinner you used! I want to make sure you (and anyone else who sees this) know that it’s toxic as well!!

I was recommended this video by the algorithm because I watched Leona's Workshop videos. There aren't a lot of channels that do the same things she does. You have similar presentation so I think that's why I was recommended your channel even though you only have one garage kit video. It could be a useful niche if you're looking to grow your channel.

What a wonderfully made video! I'm currently working on a e2046 kit and it was nice to see another beginner go at it! Leona's Workshop got me started last year and I've only just begun my first kit last week. (11 months of gathering supplies and material 😅) keep up the great work, the figures turned out great and video editing/camera work even better!!

Looks awesome! Love the eyes and glossy detail. Just a heads up for the next kit, it may help to use cotton gloves when using pastels because the oil from your fingertips has a habit of messing with pastels. Overall, great job on the kit!💕

This video finally got me to order white milliput, and I'm glad I did. 😊
However, whenever I use the sculpting tool, the putty kinda crumbles and doesn't smooth properly unless I put vaseline on the tool. Is this normal?

For your second kit the results are fantastic, my only real critique/suggestion is to invest in a good airbrush as it will change your painting life and give you options that would be very difficult if not impossible to achieve using brush painting.

I am definitely tempted by an airbrush - I enjoy hand painting (it’s really relaxing!) but the finish with an airbrush looks amazing! I’ll definitely look into getting one in the future 😊💛

What spray sealer did you use? It looks like it dries nice and matte. I'm gathering my supplies to work on my first kit, and I'm in the dark on sealing lmao
Hi! I used “Humbrol Acrylic Varnish” in Matt!
I’m not sure if that will be available depending where you are, but if not I also recommend “Mr Hobby Mr Super Clear” in Matt too 😊 I’ve used that one before for smaller pieces and it’s lovely but it’s harder to get in the UK!

love the video!! I’m also thinking of working on a chobits garage kit, but i think whats holding me back is that I never worked with resin before. I know it’s toxic when inhaled, but I find it very intimidating for some reason especially since the little pieces fall out when you file/sand. Is working with figures different from working with the liquid form of resin? I’m assuming you have to take the same safety precautions, but I see a lot of artist always working with their bare hands when it comes to garage kits. Is there any other safety tips? Sorry if this is a bit silly.

It’s not silly at all! 💛 It’s important to be safe, resin is toxic if ingested or inhaled. I wore a ventilator mask when working with the resin during clipping, sanding, drilling and kept windows open too (I probably should’ve put this in the video - I will add it in my next one for sure!)
But once the pieces are primed and you are painting it is safe to handle without a mask as long as you keep your hands clean! I used my bare hands throughout for precision but I washed my hands frequently and vacuumed often to make sure nothing was left 😊
When you receive the kits they are fully cured, so it is less toxic than handling freshly cured resin (like in demoulding videos where gloves are recommended)

I loved this video! But just one thing, try to not shade/highlight with black/white, it really desaturates the original colours
