    In this video, the discussion unfolds around the pressing issue of affordable insulin, a matter of paramount importance to millions of Americans. The conversation, led by distinguished figures including Dr. Kowalski and Dr. Rogers, delves into the complexities and challenges faced by individuals in need of this life-saving medication. The narrative skillfully navigates through the testimonials of these experts, shedding light on the stark realities of the healthcare system and the dire need for reform.
    The discourse begins with a poignant inquiry into the familiar expression "yada yada yada," setting the stage for a critique of the repetitive and often unproductive discussions surrounding healthcare reform. This candid conversation quickly transitions into a critical examination of the current state of insulin affordability in the United States. The dialogue, infused with personal anecdotes and professional insights, underscores the inadequacy of the existing healthcare infrastructure to provide affordable insulin to those in need, particularly the uninsured and homeless populations.
    Dr. Kowalski and Dr. Rogers share their perspectives on the bureaucratic hurdles and inefficiencies plaguing patient assistance programs, highlighting the absurdities and obstacles that individuals face when seeking access to affordable insulin. The narrative captures the frustration and desperation of patients forced to navigate a convoluted system that, at times, seems designed to deter rather than aid.
    The video also spotlights legislative efforts aimed at addressing this crisis, including the Affordable Insulin Now Act, which seeks to cap the price of insulin and expand access to all, regardless of insurance status. The discussion brings to the fore the bipartisan support for such measures, emphasizing the urgency and necessity of meaningful action.
    Through a compelling analogy involving the counting to a billion, the video elucidates the enormity of the federal budget in contrast to the relatively modest cost of implementing insulin price caps. This stark comparison serves to question the priorities of the nation's budgetary allocations and the feasibility of finding a solution within the existing financial framework.
    As the conversation unfolds, it becomes evident that the issue of insulin affordability is not just a matter of healthcare policy but a profound moral challenge that calls into question the values and responsibilities of a society. The video, while highlighting the complexities of the issue, advocates for a decisive and compassionate approach to healthcare reform, urging an end to the "yada yada yada" and a move towards tangible, life-saving solutions.

    He left off the biggest problem. the government requires you to pay them MILLIONS just for permission to make insulin. Stopping anyone from making and selling it cheaper.
    I looked into it once. for $10K you can buy the machines to make your own. If your going to be taking it for life, that makes the most sense.
    My grandfather needed insulin and he had to buy his own needles, but hey have money to give free needles to drug addicts breaking the law???

    • @petuniagirl1
      @petuniagirl1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. Exactly. According to the NIH, there have been only four cases of people misusing insulin. I looked it up, asked Google if people use insulin injections to get high. There's no reason, logically, for the government to be as involved in regulating the production of insulin as they are, or the distribution of needles to insulin dependent patients. IF they cared, like they say they do, about American citizens. We know that answer. Controlling insulin's big money and the gov't is in on the money, have a cruel monopoly against those who need insulin for their very lives, American citizens. Disgusting. All the bureacracy that has to be paid drives the price up; insulin production should be open to the free market system, (like, JMO, health insurance) with some basic common sense standards so safety for patients are met. We can shop around for aspirin, that prevents strokes and heart attacks, why not insulin? Sorry for the long reply. Our neighbor, insulin dependent, retired, worked since age 12, struggles to pay for his insulin.

Since it has the Bayer name, everyplace must follow the script. Because Americans and insurance will pay those higher prices, we will remain stuck, My insurance will not let me get prescriptions outside the US, even if it saves them money. As long as Drug Companies, Hospitals, Doctors & Insurance Companies are aloud to gouge the people this will never be fixed. The way to fix this is to not allow them to donate in anyway to politicians. As long as you keep feeding the pigs at the trough it will never change. Every politician in Washington is beholding to that group of people and consequently does not want to ever fix the problem. They are all on the dole and have no intention of giving up that pac money.

    My 58 year old son, a barber for 34 years passed away on May 6, 2022. He could have been saved if he could have afford health insurance. He was always saying, I’m so tired mom. Yet he stood on his feet for 10 hrs a day cutting $9.00 hair cuts. I found him on his bedroom floor the day before Mother’s Day. He had been died 4 days. His father passed away at 36 from a heart condition. My son would not seek medical help due to no insurance. I am 85 and have a Medicare advantage plan. He worked, paid his taxes and died alone. What a terrible loss. I grieve for my boy every day.

    Trump had a better Insulin & EpiPen bill. I was just waiting for 2021 for the bill to kick in. Until Biden undone his bill…
    I'm highly allergic to bees, with Trumps bill It would have costed me between $50 to $150 depending on the brand...Now I can't afford them. EpiPen's range from $650 to $750 without insurance. Even with insurance, your plan may have a separate deductible you must reach before your insurance starts paying. It can cost up to $164 for a single auto-injector... If the Russian expansion in Eastern Europe is not stopped in Ukraine, it till continue, triggering a war on the entire continent, and if Russia has its way, we'll be back to the two-empire hold-up, USA vs Russia, vying for their spheres of influence, like during the Cold War. Another scenario: the Islamic fundamentalists already well settled in Europe will jump at the opportunity to take over during the post-war chaos, completely redefining the economic and political landscape, upping the terrorist threat for the US tenfold, because there will no buffer in Europe for intercepting the jihadists and, having taken over, their attention will concentrate once more on the "Great Satan," i.e. the USA.
