For those wondering what happened to the cat afterwards, first of all this was over a decade ago. When the show first aired in 2009, the cat became famous and people gave her the nickname "Myunsan," after the name of the mountain where she had been waiting for her owner. A year later, she was adopted by a guy in his twenties who claimed to be "a passionate rescuer of cats." But in July 2011, it was discovered that the cat was abandoned yet again by the guy only a month after her adoption, and that she was missing. (The guy turned out to be a pathological liar and had a history of animal cruelty. This was before the amended Animal Protection Act passed in Korea.) Fortunately, people quickly found and rescued the cat in a nearby neighborhood, and the last newspaper article I could find about her tells me that she was to be matched with a new adopter, this time with the help of the authorities and "through a more strict screening process." I literally cried, I love cats. I have seven cats I will never in my wildest dream think of abandoning them . At night I always pray for my cats and all the cats of the world. May God bless this cat version of Hachiko .
late summertime, real early autumn, I always sleep with my bedroom window open. one night I was awoken by the sounds of a cat meowing their poor head off. I managed to go from window to window at my apartment and get the cats attention. i flicked on my front porch light and proceeded to call the cat indoors she came inside and found out why she was meowing in the frantic fashion she was. she was pregnant and her babies were about to come into the world. I set up a birthing station for her in my bedroom where she gave birth to five kittens-one was stillborn, unfortunately... well needless to say I have her vaccinated & fixed she has a great home & her kittens received great homes too. Love it when fortune favors the kindness of strangers.
A lot of cats are abandoned every days , for that to do the best of our power to make the best life of our littles adorable cats !! And also for all domestics animals , even not domestic if it’s possible

I am literally crying right now. How can the owner be so cruel and leave the cat behind. I wish somebody would adopt him and give him all the love and care he deserves.

I sometimes find videos like this very upsetting, because I LOVE animals and I HATE horrible things happening to them. These people seem to be experienced in rescuing cats though, I've seen their videos before. They're really good and kind to animals.

She is so loyal and sweet, she didn’t deserve this! Her previous owners are so cruel to have left her like that! This made me cry just thinking about her alone on the mountain yet holding hope that each passerby is her beloved and missed owner. My heart breaks

@@slobberjaws Kitty did not have parvo. The vet said she tested negative for parasites and diseases, so no parvo. That's a neg result.

They feel left out and that they'll never see you again. They got attached to you and must be worried about you. In their mind, everyone should know that they think they'll never see you again. After all, your the one that feeds them and comfort them.

i really remembered HACHIKO, a dog in Japan that had the same situation of this cat. But the dog's owner is already dead but Hachiko still waited for his owners comeback for like i think 8 years
This broke my heart! I adopted my first cat and if anything happened to her or she got out I’d spend my days looking for her. She is chipped. I love her with my whole being
Guys let's unite and helps all these poor animals out their who were abandoned by their immature owners... Like come on I know sometimes owners don't have any other choices but if so they could have at least given them a shelter and a nice family to live with , not abandoning them to starve themselves to death.... I had to give away my cat, But we gave her to some rich family who has a male cat, so she's hopefully living a happy life.. I still miss herr- But it was for her best..

Cats are very independent and adaptable animals more than the other animal.

Franz Peters, cats develop strong bonds with their people. I know because I’ve had cats for more than half of my life. My Maxine was my constant companion for almost 15 years. My Rudy is very attached to me and my husband. Chester, the cat I grew up with, was very much my mom’s cat. He was very attached to her.

It is very sad, but this cat is one of the lucky ones. I work in animal control, and some neglected and abandoned cats don't make it. This one will almost certainly find another home and people have been feeding him and showing him some affection.

I feel so sorry for this cat :( . She sincerely waits for her owner every day without knowing that he will not return - this cannot be described in words...Oh, poor kitty... Animals don't know that betrayal exists. They just think that they were left here for a short time and soon the owners will come for them. They believe their owners and not a bit doubt them.
PLEASE NEVER LEAVE your pets! I can’t imagine a situation in which leaving YOUR PET on the street would be humane. If it’s hard for you, you can give your pet in good hands and visit at least sometimes!!!!
My cat loves me so much that he follows me LITERALLY EVERYWHERE! He does not know how to hunt and is very scared of other animals, I will never leave him alone. Only if I die before him

I can't help but wonder if perhaps the cat either accidentally escaped from being an indoor kitty, and couldn't find her way home, or if something happened to the owner. It doesn't sound like the cat was micro-chipped, and based on how loyal she was to her owner, clearly she was very loved and she loved in return.
I feel so bad for this poor kitty :( She reminds me of my dad's cat when he passed away (it was a very sudden heart attack). Dad's cat, Maya, would race around the house after napping, looking for my dad in the rooms he used to frequent. Maya has since learned to love and bond with me, but I know she still misses my dad, too. In her eyes, Best Human Ever just never came home one day and she does not know or understand why he would just leave her and everything in the house.
All the dislikes are from the same breed as the cat's heartless owners.No normal person would dislike the samaritans' efforts.

Heartbreaking but thanks to a group of caring people, she can live out the rest of her life in a forever home. I hope maybe you can do an updated video of her when she is safe with her new family.
My cat was abandoned by the previous tenants of the house, which I know was uninhabited for three months prior. She was just there when we moved in and after finding out her story, we adopted her. But even now, five years later, she gets very anxious if she hasn't seen any of us for a day because we've all been out. ❤
Wow, that was so sad. A small cat can demonstrate that huge amount of love & loyalty to it's human, but the human just threw her away like a piece of trash, with not a shred of love or loyalty. I never even abandoned my cat during thunderstorms, when my family had to leave our house and go somewhere else. I took him with me so seeing how someone could do something so heartless is just plain messed up.

I'm just horrified every time by these videos, I can't imagine why these beings weren't at the very least brought to someone who can love and take care of these beings.
These are living creatures they deserve our respect and even if you are religious, in every book it states that we as human beings have a duty of care to these beings because they were created by God in every language. The Quran, The Bible, The Torah all three say this about the creatures of the earth and our role in helping them or respecting them and taking care of them!
Why people do this is beyond me, I guess that the thoughts I was taught, about these beings, are way different than what other people are teaching their kids who grow up to do these horrific acts!

I wouldn’t force the cat to come. Unless, the mountains were dangerous with wild animals, then that’s the right time. The cat is friendly, but it won’t leave until it finds it’s owner. People try to bring her home, but fail. She immediately scratches you to protect herself.

У нас в Шымкенте нет,один раз вообще отстреливали вместе с собаками это очень грустно, сейчас я сама одну кошку беременную подкармливаю ,а как дальше не знаю быть с ней,а так у меня дома свой кот у нас нет не приютов и не кому отдать очень жаль кошку
