I have one question about the EDS(Electronic Data Sheet) file of EIP Protocol. If I implement the adapter class EIP device, do I need to provide an EDS file mandatory? or it's just option?
EIP has biggest market share not because its "outstanding performance". In fact, performance is often one of the complaints of EIP. We all know why it dominates the market--Rockwell. I predict EIP will continue lose market share because there are better field bus technologies out there. It takes time for the market to adopt new technology.
