Seriously? The discount is supposed to be an incentive to buy more.. not a loss of profit for her! It costs her just as much to make the second one is it does to make the first... Many people would buy the second one anyway if they wanted it without her having to take a 15% pay cut!! She's already making less than a dollar an hour after expenses!! You're thinking about yourself and your pocket, not a fair price for Deanna!!!!

I am new to your channel, and absolutely loving all of your craft fair series!! I think these would make amazing gifts for any occasion! I love how you made the mug with vinyl...what a nice personal touch! I do huge shows with thousands of customers, so mass producing these with cute store bought holiday mugs would be up my alley!

Very cute I used to pkg up cake mix by dividing it out to individual servings. This is so much easier. I think I sold mine for $ 5. Years ago

  • @victoriadeyot9321
    @victoriadeyot9321 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I would charge $7.50. At a craft fair consider making one gift basket of 2 of these cups, perhaps one white and one green and make eyes etc so it looks like Grinch and have a different flavor cupcake, put in a couple small inexpensive things perhaps just a back of peppermints or one of the other treats you’ve made or a hot chocolate mix. Price it for $10-12 advertising it for office exchanges because you know how we always have those exchanges with a price cap somewhere around $10 plus we may not really know what our person wants. Don’t forget to leave instructions to hand wash only.

Hello! New subbie here! I like this craft fair idea! Researched microwaving vinyl online and found that some folks have had no problems with both 651 (outdoor) and 631 (indoor) vinyl. If someone is skeptical (like me) suggest doing a sample test. I'd charge $4 to at least cover your costs (mug, mix, ribbon, shred, shrink wrap, vinyl, tags, ink, etc.) I'll probably try this one at my next sale. Edibles generally sell well. TFS...Blessings!

Another youtuber made these and added some candles, balloons, a party blower, can't remember what else and charged $5 I think it was. It was a party in a mug.
Another cute craft sale items is to use an oven mitt as the holder, stick in a pouch of brownie mix ($1 at Walmart, 9x9 pan size), and a wooden spoon; you can add more stuff, like a rolled up dish towel, and a potholder. It can be seasonal or otherwise. You tie a large ribbon around it. Alternatively you can use the sugar cookie mix pouch, and dangle a cookie cutter off of the ribbon. Nice for Christmas; or skip the cookie cutter and stick in chocolate chip cookie mix, good any time of the year. I've seen them with 3 items total for $5 and with the additional items for $8.

$6 or 2 for $10, 5 for $20. That way they get a deal for buying more. People will probably want to buy a couple, because they would be fun for teachers and coworkers.

      Girl... You're joking right???
So by your rationing I might as well Buy 10 of them because I have a lot of friends and family and co-workers that I like to give gifts to and it would just cost me $8... 🤔Or better yet maybe I should buy 15 at these prices...😂 I definitely know a few more people I could give gifts to yeah and then Deanna can PAY ME to take them off her hands😲
You do realize that it cost as much to make the 5th one as it does the first one right?? And you do realize that she's in it to make money, and not be nice and pay for someone else's presents so that they can look good look!!!
If you are actually a crafter selling your products... Now I get the word 'hungry Crafter' in your name!!!
Seriously, how insulting that you place so little value on her talent and time just so that you could get a bigger discount and satisfy your ego by handing out more presents!!!

    What do I think??
I think maybe you've been hanging around the dollar store too much!! Finding mugs for under a dollar or even a dollar is rather difficult anywhere other than the dollar store. Have you looked at the prices of specialty mugs in Michaels or Hobby Lobby ... before there's anything in them?.. they run at least $5 and as high as $10 on an average. And that vinyl that you're using is pretty pricey too and then the transfer material... And it seems like there's quite a bit of wastage in it when it's being used (but that's just the way it always is). Yes I know that if you run around and you're constantly watching you can always get it on sale for a decent price... However it's always been my theory (and I've been in the crafting business from the beginning when it went from being a hobby to a business) that if something's on sale that is money in my pocket for being so diligent ... and I don't base prices on the sale price of items that I use because what if I get a big order for it and I can't find the product on sale what do I do??? tell them I can't make it or "eat" the cost and take the loss???
Not trying to be rude or anything but for the sake of your people reading this that are starting a business they need to know that if you're going to run a business (and especially women have this problem) you have to think like a business person, and not a housewife trying to scrape your pennies together running a low budget household!!!
So anyway, forget about the cost of making the product for a few minutes. No individuals working at your fast food restaurants are demanding more than $10 an hour because they find it insulting to earn less right? So let's break it down this way... You are wondering if $5 is enough for the coffee mug that you are selling. So based on $10 an hour minimum wages $5 would equate to an half an hour's work for them so my question is can you honestly complete pickup and a half hour? Because actually you don't have a half hour maybe you have 15 minutes of your time which would be about $2.50 salary by the time you deduct all of your expenses from the $5 that you're charging per cup!!!
total all the time you invested in that product from the time of Designing the product, finding the raw materials, using your Cricut to make the designs, putting the designs on the cup, putting the product that you went out and brought to put in the cup. wrapping the product up, pricing the cup, loading the cup and other products into your vehicle, the expensive of going to the store or to the show, paying for the show and tables, gas money, and mileage and usage of the car, the time you spend at your show setting up and there during the show hours and then you break down and repeat the process going home more expenses and not to mention once your home you got to unload the product and have a storage place for it and believe me, I only hit on the more obvious expenses!!! So, I don't know, what do you think? is that cup value at least $5?
And the adorable stuff that you sell for a dollar... Well at $10 an hour it breaks down to $1.25 an hour and you have to make it within 7 minutes or less so I guess you'd have to make it in less than 4 minutes to earn a dollar an hour. 🤔😯) that's not including the cost of the material!!!!!
Anyway, like I said before not trying to be mean, or long-winded but you asked so I guess this is my answer... as long as you're only trying to support your hobby and recoup some of your expenses then you have a wonderful product with exceptionally great pricing the people are only too happy to purchase, however if you're looking to make a living off of it and support yourself then I suggest you go out and at least get a part-time job and in the long end you'll be bringing money home for the time you're spending working... Although we all know you'd rather be making crafts during that time!!!
Okay, I've totally depressed myself... I'm leaving bye
