Good on you thanks,I put set of hard pipes on my Navara today, didn't cut pipe ,the U bend pipe joins to top pipe ,then runs to the intercooler, bit of mucking around ,grill out made it easier ,,my little vacuum lines were shot , replacement was well worth the 2o bucks n cleaned out EGR ,she is running great , thanks again
my pathfinder, same chassy and engine... has the last versione of this engine the euro5 dpf and mine huses a very very thick rubber hose witha metal spiral around it to stop balooning and its all factory
Done mine 2yrs ago and my d40 runs sweet with the solid pipes in , put a western filters provent catch can in it will keep your intercooler clear of that oil and lower the cold side temp giving you better response and better fuel consumption .
Yeewww nav vlog. I love my D40 . Your nav needs a exhaust and snorkel next . Also I run a hiflow turbo on mine and it made heaps of difference in the way it drives
That weird thing on top of the hotside piping is an intake muffler. Delete it! Also next mod has to be exhaust. Get some extra turbo flutter. I broke the exhaust off my d40 on fraiser island just behind the gearbox and without the rear muffler it sounded mint.
Thanks for that bro, I’ve never heard of an intake muffler before haha. So glad it’s gone! I’ll look into the exhaust mod next. Ideally one that’s not crazy loud haha
Looking around for a 4x4 under 20k in 2021 is not fun. Every landcruiser or patrol worth buying are well over 25k. I'm considering getting a navara but worried about the quality of the yd25 engines, heard a few complaints. A guy I work with got one brand new and it munched it's own crank and bearings by 40,000kms. Have you had any issues?
Installing some hard piping in our navara. Had to trim the charge line a few times to get it right. Mostly cause couldn’t find a ruler or tape measure.
Hi Mike, I'm trying to add a led bar light to my D40 like you have on your bull bar, and later add a reversing camera. Wondering if you have any info on what's the easiest way to get a cable through the firewall so a switch can be put in the cab? Thanks.
I feel like that much oil could be possibly turbo seals. There shouldn't be that much, only thing I'd be worried about is if it runs away on its oil so maybe keep an eye on it..
Hey Mike, how much harder do you think the turbo needs to work when using rubber pipes compared to stainless? The turbo on my d40 has blown and I had a similar thought myself about the pipes, so thinking of going stainless when I can get my hands on an affordable replacement turbo.
Hey Chet, the turbo definitely has to work harder to create the mount of boost needed to get the nav moving. Stainless pipes basically remove ever having to worry about this problem.
Dude you mentioned you had to cut the hot pipe a but to fit it? What is the pipe connection to the intercooler like? The one that the hot pipe joins on to. Reason I ask is because I have a euro 5 Spanish built motor with the circlip connections. Everyone keeps saying I can only use the more expensive circlip hard pipe. I think a mod like you've done could work (and be cheaper).
Love it mate! I’d love to see your interior. Looks like you might have changed the screen inside? I’ve got a Titanium too with the old sat nav. What did you do with all those buttons haha
@@itsmikelake it’s pretty common dude when you do a lot of driving. Quite possible that a seal is leaking abit but generally a catch can will help with the build up of oil. Also check your intercooler for oil build up! 🤙🏼
Nice one! Just wondering if that leaves enough flexibility for engine vibration isolation from body? Anything connected from engine to body needs some flexibility I would imagine.
Hi Do you need some great lighting upgrade for your truck to help you better driving, off-road and adventure. We're the pro auto lighting manufacturer for nearly 20 year and we're looking for sponsorship!
agree, look at the pics on eBay. You're still effectively running rubber hose on the hot side from the intercooler. But now you cut the pipe it isn't going to fit unless you weld it back together ;)
Sorry to bothered but that's not a Spain model that's a Thailand Built . D40s only had 2 different built which is the Spain built and Thailand built , ik cause I bought the same intercooler pipe kit it doesn't fit properly cause it's for a Thailand built not for Spain built .

That small metal pipe between 2 rubber is Air Intake Silencer. With that you wont hear a faded whistle when turbo sucks air.
my pathfinder, same chassy and engine... has the last versione of this engine the euro5 dpf and mine huses a very very thick rubber hose witha metal spiral around it to stop balooning and its all factory
the rubber hoses split so easy, changing to solid pipes was the best thing i ever did
Agree! An inexpensive mod that will save you headaches in the long run. Plus it looks cool haha
Love the Nav content mate. Just bought a D40 myself. Looking to do the same mods you did in your previous videos! Keen as.

Awesome advice! I’ve wanted to do a catch can for a while now. I’ll get onto it ASAP.
@@itsmikelake can just run a 16mm hose from rocker cover breater to chassis rail and then a 16mm grommet to block turbo side.
Navara vids are awesome! As I own one but love all your content

Love the navara content keep up the good work and continue the build, will love to see new rims tho 👏
Do a bigger turbo and 3 inch stainless steel exhaust 🤟🏽 love your videos keep it up.
loving the 4x4 vids
Love the mix up in content.
Definitely went from the stolen Nav to this one. We do not talk about the "Great" Wall..
haha!

You should do this exhaust kit. Cheap and quiter than straight through pipe.

Intercooler upgrade video on the d40 would be good. There actually isnt any on TH-cam
Check pcv valve.. may attribute to the oil in IC piping
Cheers, I’ll check it out today!

Yes agree I had to do this also. Great upgrade though!
Nice tube and nice work!
May I ask where did you buy it?
Thank you
Bring back sunday uploads
You channel is dying, bring em back with the e36 content
They’re coming back my dude!
Please Please Please do an exhaust!!! Love the channel
Thanks bro! I’m keen to do an exhaust but don’t want an overly loud one 😅

Hey Pat! I believe there's a grommit you can run wires through on the right hand side (when looking at the firewall).
Keen to see a staino snorkle chucked on the big girl

Have same oil on my d22.. thinking turbo seals..
Should I replace turbo before any pending failure
Love the nav! Got a d40 and wanting to do the same mods man keep it up
Cheers bro! They’re such an awesome truck
Is this done on 2012 navara i have trouble with this rubber pipe cracked four times dose the silicone pop off when hot
I’ve never had a hose pop off in the year or so I’ve had the hard pipes installed 😁

Just fitted mine didn't fit cause you need to change the lower stock hard pipe to their one it's shorter but good vid thanks
Have you done a dyno test to evidence if there is a benefit of doing this?
How long will it take to change over the turbo
Would you recommend a bigger turbo?
Hey man been a long time since the next nav build video? Hope everything is all good?
How can i buy the stainless hose and where i buy it?

Stay positive vic and SA corona safe can't 2b home thanks for your vids 👍👍💕 god bless
Cheers Shaun! Stay safe bro ✌🏻
Nice man trying to do the same to mine
Cheers bro. Do it! Well worth it
did u know what the inner diameter of the pipe ? 2.5inch ? 2.2inch ?
Definitely abit to much oil in there mike! Next mod do a catch can 👍🏻
Yeah that’s definitely on the list thanks bro! Is that oil from turbo seals?

@@itsmikelake anytime brother!
Hi sir please i problem with my navara i change turbocharger by the is black smoke and same time is reduce the speed so please i need your help tax
Will it fit on my 2007 nissan navara d40 spanish 2.5 turbo diesel
Nice one! Just wondering if that leaves enough flexibility for engine vibration isolation from body? Anything connected from engine to body needs some flexibility I would imagine.
Thanks! Plenty of flexibility through the silicone joiners 😁
what type of piping material do you use for the intercooling
Can you pals send me vacum digaram of navara on I take manifold side?tnx
How much this my friend
Will this process harm the engine in the future?
A good tune should never harm the engine as long as you’re not running too much boost! My car is still going beautifully 😇

its a noise baffle ...that little can on the hot pipe that had the oil in it.
Is that what muffles the turbo spooling?
Bout time you mounted a snorkel on there aye
Dammiy Riley, you're a bad influence!
did you even put the 3rd pipe in
Not actually sure what the 3rd pipe is for haha. Do you know?!
@@itsmikelake yeah it goes into the intercooler

Sure can!
what bull bar is that?
Just a stock one painted black 😇
None of my silicone reduces fitted at all 😭
That’s bloody annoying! Mine needed a little convincing with lubrication but worked well none the less
I see why you cut it...your link is for Thai version...mnt..😅
