  • The Airbus A380 is the largest passenger airliner in the world. With each engine producing 70,000 horsepower, this giant, as tall as a 9-story building, can fly non-stop over a distance of 15,000 kilometers and carry up to 853 passengers. By 2022, over 260 A380s have been delivered to 15 operators worldwide. Top customers include Emirates (123), Singapore Airlines (24), Lufthansa (14), Qantas (12), Korean Air (10), and British Airways (12).

I put my barbeque together a couple of weeks ago. Basically I poured it out of a large, flat box. After watching how an Airbus A 380 is built, I feel very, very, stupid. What a marvel of engineering and construction this aircraft is. I am rendered speechless.

No, but the blueprints and parts list came directly from a trademark application from Leonardo da Vinci, before he switched to art because he was having trouble finding financial backing.

I think the predessesor of the "Beluga" aircaft was born from the "Guppy"? From around 1990-98 I lived close to Filton Airfeild where I believe a lot of large parts were transported from Filton to Toulouse regulalry. It became a familiar sight in Bristol with its bulbous shape. Such an alien shape seeing it fly. There was also a daily flight from Filton to Toulouse ferrying workers too and fro. We lived about 1 and 1/2 miles from Filton airfeild and we`d regulalry hear them testing large jet engines. Maybe even Concorde? It was ridiculously loud when they had these engines going at full tilt. Filton had an extremely long runway and was a huge site. Sadly I think Filton has shut the airfield and are building's houses on the massive expanse. I was really sad that it had shut as it had been there well before I was born in 65 and a great place to see concorde on its visits. I missed its last flight which ended quite aptly at Filton.

Actually, the Boeing 747 has the record for the number of passengers in a single flight: Over 1000 passengers in each of two different flights. Additionally, several 747's had over 900 passengers. These were rescue flights of refugees of families of Ethiopian Jews to Israel in 1991.

Russian titanium is the only material suitable for the A-380 landing gear?
I don't think so. There are plenty of high-strength steel alloys that can do the same job. The places where titanium really shines are in corrosion resistance and maintaining integrity at high temperature. availability and cost would make it very low on my list of choices for material unless i was building a super-sonic aircraft and needed it for the outer skin.
Also, the Boeing 787 is mostly made of carbon fibre composites. There is very little aluminum or fibre-glass. Perhaps you could do a documentary on its construction.

Please don't forget a plane can't fly without the wings. Which do you think are more complex? Do you think that the wings are substandard to the fuselage?

I used to drive past Broughton A380 factory where the A380 wngs are made and on certain days the local road is closed for a special rig to carry each huge wing to the barge on the river Dee that takes it to the port of Mostyn to be loaded on a sea going ship to head for France.

Nice video but it seems bloated with nonessential information. You could have edited out an entire behind the scenes video. The first video is solely about the plane. Then the behind the scenes video, with the guy that wants to be in every shot, giving interviews along with additional nonessential information. Definitely get a voiceover with at least some personality.
