It's an exciting match. Both players played beautifully. At last Manyu won the match against young Miwa. Kudos to both of them!

In general, the current official balls weights of 2.7gr is the most hurdle preventing table tennis to spread popularity in social sport. A new lightweight 2gr standard balls must be the future for table tennis.
I personally see that lots of commercial table tennis clubs owners convert their facilities into badminton/billards/.. facilities. They leave out of table tennis busines. They say that almost of all table tennis beginning players can not dare to sacrifice few years for training to reach the level of playing amateur games of the current heavyweight 2.7gr balls table tennis. So almost all new players leave table tennis after few weeks trying before they can get funs from playing amateur games. Commercial table tennis clubs owners always lose almost all their new beginning players clients after few days of trying. You can understand : life is busy, nobody, except professionals, wants to pay few years for training to reach possible level of playing amateur games.
The new lightweight 2gr balls soound so werd. But lightweight 2gr balls really very easy to play for beginning players. Lightweight 2gr balls table tennis require few weeks for training to reach level of playing amateur games of lightweight 2gr ball table tennis version, instead of few years for training to reach level of playing heavyweight 2.7gr table tennis version. Lightweight 2gr balls will pull and keep more billions of new players, and togethers create big markets for table tennis equipment/services business.
HEAVYWEIGHT BALLS ARE STUPID FOR BUSINESS, FOR TABLE TENNIS POPULARITY, FOR ENTERTAINING, AND FOR SOCIAL PLAYERS TOO (PLAYERS PAY MORE OFFGAME TIME FOR GOING PICKING-UP BALLS).

After the second set I thought it was going to be a comfortable 4-0 victory for WM, but then she relaxed in set 3 and Miwa showed she was too good to let Wang get away with that. In the last 2 sets I thought there were question marks about Wang's condition, and she seemed tired. Made it very tense; Miwa came very close to taking it to a 7th set. In short, a match that reinforced my sense of just how good Harimoto is for a 15 year old, and of how, sooner or later, she's going to become the Japanese number 1. As for what happens when the Chinese study the crap out of her, and basically institute a 'red wall' policy I have no idea. I hope she's good enough to survive it, and remain competitive for the biggest prizes. Women's Table tennis needs it.

Wang started the match incredibly, opening a big lead before narrowly closing the first set 11-9. Second set was straightforward for Wang. The fun begins at the third set, really interesting to see how Miwa brings up her game all of a sudden to convincingly take the third set. Overall, both played incredible and kudos to Miwa for her semi final finish at such a young age. Absolutely fantastic display!

Japanese tend to have teenage players shine quite early. The key is the development process after, as the more Miwa plays, the more she is being analyzed by China Team, and the more tactics & strategies are available to beat her. Miu, Mima, and Miwa's brother are typical examples. They did very well as teenagers but look at them now.

The problem is that Japan doesn't have enough young talents. So usually China coaches just need to study on one or two young players. But China has so many young talent that there is no way the Japanese coaches can prepare their players for all of them

This could be wrong, but I suspect Miwa’s story may turn out to be different. I think she’s a particularly intelligent player who has the potential to develop the capacity to play in many different ways. And so would become resilient to being ‘figured out’. Time will tell…

By knocking out two biggest threat in Japanese team, Wang Manyu should have moved very close towards securing her single ticket in Paris. Unlike Sun Yinsha who usually dominates her opponents, Wang just outlasts her opponents demonstrating her resiliency and mental strength.

Miwa got that bloodline to be successful in Table Tennis. She's a Han Chinese afterall. Unlike Ito who decides to solo all the way in her career, Miwa chooses the correct path to grow with her mates like Hina Hayata and Miu Hirano. She will probably be the biggest threat to the Chinese team, a force greater than her brother and prime Mima Ito.
