Very cool guys. Thrill of a lifetime. Excited for you. The house is coming along nicely. So wonderful to get the family involved. It makes for a great talking piece for years to come. Happy new year 2025🪂❤🌈
Chad, that was a very creative way to put the Tyvek on. I love the progress that has been made so far. Just like everyone else, we can't wait to see more progress in the coming weeks. Josh 🎂 looks like he had an exciting time. Enjoy and have fun guys.
Lovely to see how much your channel has grown, been here since the road trip videos a couple of years ago. After the fact so pretty useless, and I build by myself, but a temporary batten screwed on the bottom joist/ring beam would have made putting the sheathing on a lot easier! Keep up the good work and good luck with your channel growing in 2025 from another builder on a small island, at 60° North where it's a lot colder but less volcanic!
I am a little confused about your construction. I thought that plywood, then the wrap, then your choice siding. Not used to seeing the wrap over the framing then plywood.
Might be an initial air tight waterproof membrane, rather than a breather membrane you would put over the racking ply/OSB sheeting? I've no experience of tropical climate builds though.
So why all this wood you are using to build your house. ? Given you could have bought containers that are shipped to this state? You are being so selfish.
What's the statement here? They should buy something from another location far away and have it shipped into the middle of the Pacific ocean rather than use local materials? Your comment makes no sense at all.
@@katzgarWhat is needed is that you should get off the internet and speak to actual people, posting rude and ignorant comments on TH-cam is not a life lived.
So, let's see your YT videos of a Hawaiian off grid house build for comparison then? I'm assuming that you're a qualified builder so it's going to be good reference material.
Thanks for sharing! I am so excited to see the progress of the house. I could NEVER jump out of a plane, lol.
Awesome to see you men again. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAPPY NEW YEAR, HAPPY WEEKEND!!! Bob and Jim Florida.
Belated happy birthday Josh! There’s NO WAY I’d jump out of a plane!
You just try and you'll love it.
@ nope! Lol

Just a safety note, extend your ladder higher and bring the base of your ladder out a bit more, less chance of falling. Great work
You guys are doing great with your house best of luck to you both 😊

I've never seen the tyvek put on before the siding board
I saw it on IG before and it was whole new estate being build like that. That looks weird and less durable.
I salute you guys! That was brave!
Aloha, guys. Your home is coming along beautifully. You both must be so excited. Wishing you all the best. ❤Aloha from California
You’re doing great! If I were more your age, I would be there helping. (I’m 76) ❤
Looking great 😊
To most Europeans, American houses always look so flimsy, like the first big wind would blow them away and in fact isn't that what often happens?🤔
Not in California ✌🏻
Not in Florida. Homes are made with concrete and cyinder block. Though a cat 5 hurricane can take a roof.
The homes in Hawaii need that “flimsy” they are designed to “shake”. They need to move with all the earthquakes we have everyday due to the volcano.
Nice job, sweet guys
Did someone say a stud 🙂
Late best Birthday Wishes.
😍
Bro they got typhoons there yah?
Why is it on stilts? Are you building on a flood plan/
Is this really a durable building? Will it survive a hurricane or tornado?
Hawaii doesn’t get Hurricanes 😂😂😂😂
HNY!

How does skydiving get the house built? I am confused.
Fun is needed too.
@Keepthepeacesharethelove what is needed is focus.

Wood panels as siding? Out of all the other durable options? This house is built to not last
