The adult 'Waldo' was played by Randy Bachman, a guy I grew up with. He had a degenerative bone disease that kept one or more of his limbs perpetually casted because his bones broke so easily. Never slowed him down, though. The dude had heart.
In later years, he became quite well-known locally as a photographer who was highly respected in the SF Bay Area music scene, which was thriving back then. Because of his skill and his engaging personality, he was befriended by a lot of people in the industry and ended up doing cameos in other rock videos from this same era.
Sadly, he died fairly young when he was struck and killed by a car while doing a photo shoot on the streets of San Francisco.
And yeah, he did kinda look like Rick Moranis in this video. LOL.

Funny story about David Lee Roth: David Lee Roth went on tour about 10 years ago with another of Van Halen's singers, Sammy Hagar. They interviewed him and asked how they were getting along.
David said "You know, Sammy is alright, but he has this thing where he thinks he's the life of the party. And that's cool. But I AM the party, so he needs to learn that."

IMO Fair Warning is the greatest album Van Halen ever made. They were at their peak in 1981 but declined with the next album Diver Down. Although 1984 was a good album in its own right, it pushed VH into a completely different direction musically (the synth era). I guess they did what they had to do to stay on top considering 84 was the height of synth driven New Wave Pop. Core fans who followed VH since their debut were less thrilled with 1984 and the band cemented that with the very next album .... Sammy Hagar and 5150.

Rob Heiser it is actually a trick that Alex had created by using an electronic drum kit. I don’t know where he got the idea, so it could be to replicate a Pantera’s engine noise, but to me it always sounded like a top fuel dragster. The drum sounds on this song are samples created to replicate real snare, tom, and base drum sounds but they are activated by striking a rubber “drum head” trigger. Alex set up several triggers with slightly different base kick tones and played different time signatures using these triggers to get that cool sound. Really creative, and unless your kit is set up for these trigger sound selections, it is really hard to replicate live for other players.

Dave IS the coolest old guy ever. Lives every day to the fullest. Knows four languages, including Japanese. lived for a couple of years in Japan to fully immerse himself in the culture, has numerous martial arts levels and is certified as a master teacher, has a helicopter pilot's license, climbed K2, trained and worked as an EMT for the experience of it, has competed as an advanced level sheepdog herder (no kidding!) , As well as having advanced military tactical training, and a great artist, just to name some things people are aware of. He is a true Renaissance man as well as musician.

This video was the shit back in the day. I don't think Van Halen would've made it without David Lee Roth. You would love almost everything from VH that has DLR. You can definitely see the difference in style when Sammy Hagar came along. That's not Van Halen, that's Van Hagar.

Can't argue with the charisma and spin Dave brought to the overall package. But whether with Sammy or Dave, the musicianship was top notch, because it was Eddie and Alex who were the music. And they're extremely talented musicians.

Its such a great freakin song like...you hear the opening guitar riff and, you're throwing up the 'devil' horns and singing aloud. Thats why I love it, cause its also very singable.
