We stopped booking Airbnb. One time I complained because I booked a "nice" airbnb for almost $100/day for a tiny studio. It had a kitchen but no pots/pans and appliances didn't work. I complained constantly, expecting some sort of westernized standard of service considering the amount I was paying. Their service was terrible and I was called maarte for complaining. I quickly realized that the host of the airbnb were filipino and with that, they didn't have a western quality of service. From then on, I stayed at a nearby 4 star hotel with security guards, outstanding staff, housekeeping, and daily fresh breakfast buffet for cheaper!

It's hot there, so the normal water temperature is usually a little warm. Not a major thing to consider when building a house, but of course, some have it, especially those who live in the cold mountain areas...

Worst experience? It was a new building... I walked into my room on the second floor, & shortly thereafter, stepped out through the french doors onto the balcony that wasn't there... Thank God for my fast reaction in grabbing back at doors & the curtains. A few scrapes, a couple of scratches, & a change of underpants later... & I was OK. 🥴 🥃🥃🥃

Thank you for sharing facts on Airbnb. I'm glad you're currently in one of the nicest areas to live. Bad experiences make us appreciate more the incredible things we now have. Have a good one.

It doesn't freeze in the Philippines unlike most western countries, that's why hot water in the kitchen is not necessary but shower yes.

For me, since one is just renting an AirBnB place. Better to not get a place with expensive furnishings/floorings/carpets. Renting would just be for a few days, so just manage own expectations. That way, no sudden surprise for any exhorbitant charges for perceived damages. Better safe than sorry. I'd say must be a scam by the owner.

I will never use Airbnb again. Never. I was in day 2 of a stay in San Diego and there was a murder a few doors down. All night long police presence coroner the works. Not to mention the initially sirens. Stressed? I’m a 61 year old woman by myself. Paid $4k for 24 day stay. It triggered me in so many ways and I no longer want to stay here. Host refused to reimburse me. Airbnb said they tried but nothing they could do. They even said they agreed with me!!! The greedy hosts have all the power. And greedy is what this platform has become. Greed

Hot water to wash dishes? First time i heard of it. If its greasy we wipe it with kitchen tissue then soak it in water so the rest of the grease will be gone. Plus theres always an electric pot so u dont need to boil water using a kettle and a stove its so much easier.
I think airbnb is very risky. Its like 2 people talking, whatever complains u have theres no one to help u. Its better to check in a hotel or even those boutique hotel so u have at least somewhere to go to when u wanna complain.

In America, most sinks no matter what room they are in have hot AND cold faucets, that work!!!!

    • @mimisy9743
      @mimisy9743 13 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

@thomasrudy6132 whats the hot water for? Its hot here so we never get those freezing winter water from sink. When the weather is hot the water usually is hot too especially during summer. Its a tropical country we dont need hot water, unless ur showring. We cant drink faucet water too.

Many ways at looking at this:
You get what you pay for.
Life is a gamble, win some lose some.
Always have backup if you’re unsure. 😅😊

Central American countries the sinks the majority of the time no hot water. Therefore, soaps are much better quality and function well without hot water. Interesting experience. 😊😊😊 Many local showers have no hot water also.😂😂😂

Unfortunately hoit water was never factored in when the pipes were laid many decades ago owing to the already scorching nature of the country. The only time I first took a hot shower was when I went to Japan in dead winter and I was 20 years old.

You know what Brian, even classic songs from the very famous legendary group band Led Zeppelin expressed the same sentiment as yours, when they said in the song Stairway to Heaven,
    "There's a feeling I get
When I look to the West
And my spirit is crying for leaving."
Link Led Zep Stairway to Heaven (beautiful song by the way): th-cam.com/video/Ly6ZhQVnVow/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eW1eINH2CmPdBYXz
First I was asking what they meant by that, because the West was what everyone dreamed of to go and live. But now I fully understand what these words mean.

I had a ski in ski out rental for a week that was 600.00 per day. The main bells and whistles that were advertised didn’t work, and the water in one bathtub was coming out brown.?? I didn’t ask for a refund, but just a little deduction. Nope. When I left a scathing review it somehow disappeared. It’s a no win with Airbnb.

Just heat the water. As for the showers you could buy a heating element for tbe shower or get a small tank. Because of the tropical climate ni big deal.
