Cool miniature train you got there! What kind of motor did you put in that locomotive? Some kind of miniature diesel turbine? It sounds like a jet engine!
Yes Sir. I use this miniature railway to carry sand, gravel and portland cement very often. From the street to the backyard. It really helps with house renovations. The load is limited by the sharp curves to 600Kg. In strait track, it was tested up to 2000Kg.
This railroad uses angle iron track. Must be much less expensive than "t" rail in that size. Lower wheel loading and use may keep wheel wear to an acceptable level.
Small steel "T" rail is not available locally. So, inverted "T" iron was used instead. The railroad has been in operation for 12 years, with no noticeable wear on rails. It is used for moving construction materials from the street to the back yard, up to about 1000 pounds each trip.
One of my Child hood video 😭 shit I haven’t seen this video in a long time. There’s also one other video but it was this one and this other dude who had his backyard railroad 😂
What would keep you from actually put small traction motors in place of the chain linkage? All you would need is to connect a small generator to a small gas powered engine and you would have a scaled down version of a full scaled locomotive. Your locomotive works pretty well though.
+Mike Lannom I am building a new loco in such way. A gas engine will drive a car alternator, and then, electric transmision to PM motors in the bogies (trucks).
Whilst I am full of envy i was however getting frustrated watching your Loco and consist tackle the same corner over and over,I would love to hear and see your engine under full throttle, all that aside you did a great job in a small space.

The track was made from inverted T iron. Everything in this RR is custom made. It is possible to use windshield wiper motors, the issue is they will wear out quickly, because they have plastic gears. I use industrial type motors, with metallic planetary gears.
Saludos
The locomotive is driven by four electric motors (one to each axle), powered from batteries. The sound was added lately, using an HO scale digital sound decoder, which has EMD 645-16 engine sounds pre-recorded.
EXCELENTE !!
Gracias!
.
very nice setup. wow i would love to have a nice train & backyard like this. better then stsying inside and watching it on the pad or computer.
It need some manteinance too, like the garden. But it is fun!
Cool! You made 20 feet of track look gigantic!
Its a very short line, indeed!
Great sound!!
Thx!
Really nice. I like how you gave it the EMD 645 engine sound and realistic controls. The EMD 645 is my favorite locomotive engine
It is my favorite loco too!
that's awesome. Great job.
Thanks
I love the PUP
exelente vídeo, el color es igual al antiguo esquema de los ferrocarriles argentinos..
Si, esa es la idea!
Muy bueno hasta el ruido de la locomotora suena igual.
Great job.
Danke
I love your canine assistant 😍
Nice Video. I like it. Thank you.
Thanks!

Hola, en una EMD G-22. No soy maquinista, solo aficionado. Saludos!
In Argentina, Ferrocarriles Argentinos use this pattern colours (yellow and Red). Excellent video!!!
Those colors were used several years ago. When I was a child!
nice vid. i wonder if theres part 11 and its much bigger now. (i meant the yard)
There is no part 11, yet
The bio says it’s a Leslie RS3L but it’s a Nathan P3. Major props on the engine though.

Que linda locomotora, me acuerdo haberlas visto☺
There’s a place in England called wheel gates and they have a massive scaled down version like yours but instead it’s a steam engine.
Steam engines are awesome!
I agree.
Very nicely put together video and very entertaining as well. Thanks for posting this.
Thank you for watching it!

What you see in the video, is already at full throttle, the loco was geared for 2Km/h max speed. It´s purpose is to haul heavy stuff inside the lot.
Thanks for replying, the Loco just sounds like it wants to really go main line speed.
Where is this guy??? I miss his videos
