Motorcycles saved my life . Help pull me out of a lot of things in life . When your riding there's is a free way of thinking you can understand , acknowledge , realize , things . I've been riding since I was 4 . Dirt bikes gave me a safe place . Nothing gives you the feeling of riding for a few hours finding that perfect spot to camp for the night or just the day. When you dismount the bike take your helmet off smell the forested air. . With the power of prayer riding motorcycles brings great peace and fulfilment. RIDE ON.
You convinced me, but I ride already! To anyone who is new to adventure riding, please note: you can and will feel like the rider going through the San Felipe sand wash shown in this video. You might not look like that rider, but I guarantee you'll feel like that rider! That's all that counts!
Bought my first ADV bike last year. 9000 km and absolutely loving it. You're so right! So many terrains to ride. Tarmac, gravel, dirt. Praying for warm weather :-)
Great video, I just got back from a 1000 mile solo road trip. I did find a dirt road here and there, nothing crazy. I love taking the back roads and the long way around. I'll go 100 miles outta the way to stay off a big highway. Enough on that, everything you said is true, an adventure bike and the long way will teach you how to get along with yourself (at least for this old guy anyway). Thanks for posting.
Adventure riding at my age is gearing up and trying to get through town and back home...without getting hit. To make my ride even more adventurous, I’m considering getting cruise control for the bike so I can “talk” to knuckle dragging drivers with my right hand.
BANG ON MATE !!! ,,,,I owned cruisers for last 8 years, currently have an Indian Chief Darkhorse,,,great bike,,,but also have a royal Enfield Himalayan for past 6 months,,,now done 5000kms,,,soooo much fun !!
Brilliantly said! I will be 60 in May, rode motorcycles up until my early teens but then stopped, got my motorcycle endorsement in my early 40's but did nothing with it, but I can resist the call no longer, and your presentation expressed why perfectly. Will I get a big adv bike? Not at all, I think the Honda CRF 300 Rally will be all the bike I need, but I cannot imagine a better way to enjoy the next 15 to 20 years then getting out in nature, living simply and enjoy each and every mile!
I’m 50 now I stopped to ride and to do enduro races 20 years ago... Now I’m getting into again and I’m so happy. I’m doing a lot of research and CRF300R was the first option, but now I’m deciding between WR250 “F” not the R (and to install a street legal kit) or the KTM 350 EXC-F (street legal) to have more power in case of need. This 2 ones are superior in power and suspension over the CRF300R. At the end it’s about what you like, want and need. Good luck 👍🏻
@@dawudgt Yes, exactly, it's all about the type of riding you want to do and then choose a bike that is best suited for that purpose. So many fantastic bikes to choose from out there these days, that's for sure. Good luck and ride safe!
@@dawudgt I can recommend the KTM for sure. I have the 250 from 2017 but as you probably know KTM only offers the 350 and 500 now. It’s the best light weight, dirt bike feeling, dual sport you can get
I started at the age of 43, I’ve never bothered getting a vehicle licence of any type up to that point. I started on a DR650 second hand with 507km on the clock. Got it re-sprung for my weight ( I’m not a 70kg Japanese test rider 😂), its a 2019 tanami edition with the 20 litre tank, barkbusters, bash plate and a set of mt-21 Pirelli scorpions. 20 months later, I’m still staring at the bike thinking how much of an awesome idea it was to go for a dual sport for a 1st bike.
I purchased a used 2011 Suzuki DL650 Vstrom and enjoy just going out and riding! No shoulder or back pain from bending over on a 200 mile joyride. Now my knees on cold 37° days are another story! Padded seat next!🤣😊🤣
Wow. I am loss of words to describe how perfect this video is..........., Short, to the point, the choice of words and something that could really change the right person his attitude to life!!!! Am still looking for words 😀. Had to subscribe and like
Every word is spot on....at 70 years, I'm thinking of getting on a lighter adv bike. That new KLR looks awesome. My GSA 1200 is fantastic for two up rides, but for everything else?
Keep your GSP and Cell phone in your bag open for emergencies! Look at a map before you start . Never let your gas tank go past 1/4 tank get lost and enjoy the view!
All good and correct, you just missed to mention one thing in this video, to all the new guys looking to get into adv world, specially those who will ride alone for most of the time, do not get any bike featured in this video other then Himalayan possibly, there is small adv bike video on this channel, look into options there. You will not be able to get yourself out of trouble alone with bike that weights 3 times more then you do. 250-300-310-400cc if you ride alone, if always in a group or local pub is an adventure, go for the big guns immediately as these sub 400cc bikes will not impress anybody, just practice on parking it so you dont embarrass yourself. Also don't get fooled into EXC500 / WR450F / CRF450L adventuring, thats like that blonde sexy lady you look at, its all great for some time, but keeping it looking sexy for longer takes a toll on the bank account and when sharing a long time together you notice it ain't that comfortable to be with, more of a one wild ride kind of thing before deciding on long term reliable proper adv bike.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, as much as therapy is important... I believe that going on a ride in nature is the most liberating thing ever and it will make you fearless !
Really depends where you live here in Australia there are no community cases and have no restrictions. But if your country has not beaten the virus you need to social distance yourself and listen to health advice I wish my moto brothers all the best in these hard times
@@gregt7927 I get it but getting stuck in the middle of nowhere Where you can't get Help from any possibility doesn't seem like a good Idea , ( my suggestion only travel with those who where tested negative for #Covid off-roading alone is Risky especially if it's an Isolated area and the #Repair demands specialized tools and experience whether it be 2 wheels or 4 wheels ) .
