  • This is a core and abs workout that won’t necessarily get you a six pack but will help you develop better core stabilization which is VERY important training since a weak core can impede any fitness performance outcomes and may ultimately lead to injury or pain. In fact, a lack of core stability and proper mobility is a not uncommon cause of back pain. Therefore it is important to exercise and stabilize the spine in different planes of movement. And if your goal is a six pack or strong abs, you still need a strong foundation to build on.

    ✦Format: : 40 sec work, 5 sec rest
    ✦Equipment: Optional lightweight dumbbells (e.g. 3-5lb) or progress to heavier ones
    ✦Exercises include: dead bug variations, plank rotations, down dog to knee drive, toe reach to extension, bird dog: alt arm leg raises, hover to plank, shoulder taps
    ✷Modifications: plank on knees, table top instead of down dog, crunch instead of toe reach, bent knees and tap down instead of full extension
