When the people of the world hear India, they think of a country where people live in peace and religious harmony. The idea of secularism put forward by India should always remain in the world. At one time, right-wing advocates for religious nations and left-wing advocates tried to avoid religion in the world. It was there that Indian leaders introduced the concept of secularism to the world. The world sees Gandhiji as a symbol of peace. Many countries follow the secularism implemented in India. Although the Gulf countries are officially religious states, they practice secularism in many areas, following the example of India. People of any religion can work there. The Gulf governments are behaving like an example to us. At one time, Gulf jobs was very comforting for us. The Gulf countries helped us in times of need. Today there are around 85 lakh Indians in the Gulf. The inward remittances to India in 2023 rose 12.3 per cent to $125 billion, accounting for 3.4 per cent of its gross domestic product (GDP), according to estimates released by the World Bank. Secularism was supported by our leaders Mahatma Gandhi, Nehru, and Azad. Maulana Azad was the first Education Minister of India. He was born in Saudi and completed his studies in Egypt which was the best university in the ancient world. A great scholar and spiritual leader, he could have stayed in the king's court. But he came to India, participated in the freedom struggle and was beaten by the British and spent time in jail. A thorough secularist in word, deed and writing, he took the initiative to establish IITs in India with foresight. The role of IITs behind the developments we see today is worth mentioning. His character was to pour love where there was hatred. Maulana Azad's ideas have influenced the countries of the world. He lived to implement the idea of secularism in the world. Being an idealist, he felt compelled that others should not know the good deeds he did. No one knows what good deeds Azad did. Azad's family members were scholars in Mecca. The scholars of Mecca have a very respected position in the Gulf countries. He was very influential as a spiritual leader among the Gulf people. He preached secularism in his religious sermons. He taught us not to look at the religion of those who come for help. Many rulers modeled Azad's secular rule. Our national leaders wanted us Indians to always live in unity and religious harmony. As they wanted us to live in brotherhood.
