This is definitely one of Jay-z’s gems right here. The beat on here by Just Blaze is unorthodox and so is Jay’s flow on this, so it matches perfectly! This Blueprint 2 album is pretty solid in its own right. Of course it couldn’t live up to the original Blueprint being an all time classic. But a lot more highs then lows on here. Some gems on here to react to would be The Bounce, Watcher 2, Poppin Tags, Diamonds Are Forever, etc.

I had just gotten into making beats asa hobby around the time this song came out. One of the big internet forum things about this track was that Just Blaze made it in some unusual time signature like 4/3s or something. Usually beats are 4/4, so that's the reason is sometimes sounds like Jay is offbeat. He's literally chasing the beat bc it's so unorthodox for a rap beat. And he still killed it.
Another example is of unusual time signatures for a beat is Alright by Kendrick Lamar. It isn't quiet as obvious as this beat, but you can find tons of youtube videos of muscians talking about trying to understand the rhythm of that beat.

Factor in his conversational style, his wit and humor, story telling, truth in said stories, factual life inspiration and transparency, growth, and you have THE 🐐😌… also please review @ Fallin” and “Already Home” a couple jewels on a heavy crown.

Do a reaction to “method man- the riddler”. This song is slept on by method man and it’s from the Batman soundtrack so it didn’t get much love and the video is fire too.

The Jay Z hate is unwarranted! Just a bunch of crazy Nas and 50 fans 😂. Did you react to “It’s Hot” yet?

I grew up in Jamaica, Queens. I love Nas and Illmatic is greatest hip hop album of all time....BUT Jay Z is without a doubt the GOAT. No MC alive or dead has had the catalog that Hov has. Every single release is different with a different flow, and a different vibe. American Gangster, Black Album, Blueprint, Reasonable Doubt ---- they all stand out in their own ways. Consistency is what puts Jay Z a few inches ahead of Nas. Even Nas fans know that he's produced some trash throughout the years (aka Bravehearts phase).

I think both men are legends. I’m not really a huge Jay fan but I will never discredit him. And I do agree that the Jay and Nas stans have to get over the beef. Both been buried the hatchet almost 20 years ago and are now best friends. Nas already revealed on his Thun track that he and Jay still joke about the beef today, it’s the fans that still want the beef going. It’s understandable given who Jay is as a person. I know about the biting and blackballing but these Jay and Nas stans still take it too far whenever the beef gets mentioned. Nas is the goat and the better rapper obviously but I still not leaving Jay out of the convo even though I’m not really a big fan.
