I mean, the initial description just says "increase inflicted damage", and all other levels for it says "increases might by x%" I'm not saying whether it does or does not effect guns, I'm just stating that it's not unreasonable to think, "This thing says it increases damage. Guns do damage. This makes guns do more damage" After booting up the game and playing for about an hour I couldn't find literally anything that indicates might effects ONLY melee weapon damage. The information the game provides is "increases damage" so on the flipside, "Good thing Tom upgraded Might so much and used guns which do damage. Perfect Strat".
I highly agree. The path into the village, a large central bonfire, the big tower, and being attacked by a large horde of enemies in the village all scream Resident Evil 4 to me
Despite knowing the real reason, I like to imagine this is where Ol' Palpy has been since his last TTT recording. He was too good. They tried to get rid of him. THEY ARE ONLY MAKING HIM STRONGER. When Palp returns, he shall bring heck with him. Or is he on a MYSTERY QUEST?
Not that I expect the reference to be caught by many, and not like there's a huge difference since it was one of the many games "inspired by..." or "-clone". But this feels a little bit more like Blood than Doom. At least thematically. But if I see a flare gun pop up, it's 100% Blood.
Yeah this game was definitely more inspired by Blood than Doom but probably Doom is better for the algorithm lords since it is more well known. It also reminds me a lot of Dusk, which itself was inspired by Blood but used 3D models ala Quake than 2D sprites.
kinda feels like Serious Sam mixed with that old Call of Duty parody video (or maybe it was a flash game) where every kill gets you promoted to colonel, general, ultra general, hyper mega major etc...
The flickering every time you pick something up is really distracting I hope there is an option to turn it off as it looks pretty fun, but that flickering is giving me a headache
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1820 OOOOO very cool, I always love a good fast pasted FPS with such graphic style, always such a fun time. Plus, don't see alot of FPS Survivor likes, which is a shame as they are always great :D Oh I can def see the Shaun of the Dead + Hot Fuzz mix he he Bonely is such a good boy, always love summons, but a little Servo Skull, yes please So much for just a demo, can't wait for the full game, hope Tom returns :D
The flash on item/xp pickup is waaaaaaay too strong. 😅 It gets very distracting and then quickly becomes very painful when combined with the damage/pain reds being really intense. As for the game though, looks like a lot of fun! Definitely Blood inspired along with the Resi4 ganado village being this starting level. But man I wish there was some variance to the shotgun noise, it gets a bit grating over and over again, lol. I do like the enemy variety as time goes on! Since this is FPS though it reminds me of Doom Eternal's Horde Mode mod/official mode, and as such it makes me really wish there was a bit more enemy variety early on to sell your increasing power a bit better. I wonder what other characters bring to the table, would be fun to see!
Hey, Tom! Check out this free rogue like fps game I found where at the end of a room, you sacrifice your body parts, (like eyes, so you can't read,) for points for later upgrades! It's pretty cool, and I think the dev needs more exposure!
1. Not a survivor-like. Being top-down is part of that genre. This also doesn't feel like a survivor-like despite the "Collect xp", "Bosses/level on a timer", and "Get random upgrades" mechanics. It's a wave shooter. There are plenty of examples that share those mechanics. 2. Flashing every time you pick up an xp orb was an AWFUL design choice. Holy crap! Is there even a need to visually indicate a pickup when you have a bar tracking it right on the screen AND objects in the world that disappear? Other than that it looks...fine? It's the demo so I expect it to be a bit thread-bare. But there doesn't seem like there is much to it. Instead of leaving me feeling like I want more. I just sort of feel like "Okay that was fun....now let's play something else."
I think the flashing on XP pickup is because in Doom/Blood/other boomer shooters your screen flashes when you pick up health or armour, but most of the modern ports of those games also have a slider to adjust how bright that flash is. Clearly it does not work in this title as it really obstructs and distracts rather than conveying any information, since you can always look at the XP bar going up.
Good thing Tom upgraded Might so much but didn't touch a melee weapon. Perfect strat.
Its about sending a message to your enemies. Its like T-posing to assert dominance
Well like Tom says. Tom: They don't pay me to read!
Let's just pretend it was RP for taking all the shotgun recoil.
He's only there to lead!

just at a glance, the village layout felt very reminiscent of the village at the start of resi 4

Or is he on a MYSTERY QUEST?
Seems more heavily influenced by blood than doom. Has potential. Will definitely check it out when it's done.
Witch hunt finally lets you draw weapons in town I see!
Love the RE4-inspired village
Thanks so much for playing this. I enjoyed it a lot!

Fun fact: "speed demon" comes from cacodemons snorting speed.
I'm instantly reminded of BLood!
Same. Was my first thought.
@@Cander5142 I'll keep my eye on this one, kinda rare to see BLood inspired games
It's like a spectacularly retro dark fantasy of the early days of Poo Lagoon & Cultsburg!
this looks like my new favourite game
This is a neat twist on the reverse bullethell genre
kinda feels like Serious Sam mixed with that old Call of Duty parody video (or maybe it was a flash game) where every kill gets you promoted to colonel, general, ultra general, hyper mega major etc...
Tom vs poolagoon!
Tom and his trusty gun
tom is famous for going into rural towns and massacring "zombies"
Wow this is great! Love to see more!
I'd love to see some of the meta upgrades when you play these kinds of games!
The flickering every time you pick something up is really distracting I hope there is an option to turn it off as it looks pretty fun, but that flickering is giving me a headache
There is an option to turn it off
Yeah same, had to skip this video
This looks SO GOOD!
tom complaining bout not finding the elites while he stays mostly in the center of the map and ignore other places lol
We've accidentally remade PainKiller.
Finaly something new though not quite.. Thank you Angory Tom
This game would be great if it wasn't flashing yellow every time you picked up XP.
I have to say it. The money looks like gold rupees.
It's bloodesque.
John Steele
why on earth would you not use the shotgun
LET'S GO!!!
ka-pow!
Tom do you have any idea how many weird little Indy games I've bought because of you?
I have to skip this one, the flashing is doing my head in

Is the main guy 4ft 10 or something?
Doomlike?? Bra it's literally called BLOOD shed
For some reason the map reminds me of Old Vizima from Witcher 1
Off topic, but you have a nice profile picture!
Tom not caring that you can try for the things you want in the slot machine.

Its like hexen/duke nukem had a modern graphics baby . Nice
i can't get over how short the viewpoint is. it feels like you are a child.

Well, where's the game?
@@Davion197I just realized, it's called Rose, it's free, on steam. Sorry I'm a dummy!
@@eshelynn Haha, no problem. I just thought it funny.
cant find boss runs around in a litteral circle.... mabey look at the rest of the map???
Nightmare Reaper is a Doomlike Roguelike (not bullet heaven/survivorlike)
I mean, it's more fun than CoD zombies 😆
