Great video! I find Splaat to be the most iconic out of Klasky-Csupo's logos. And the Graffiti one brings back nostalgic memories of me watching early Rugrats. Plus, I find your #1 a unique pick!
fun fact, they created robosplaat because the co-founder saw the kids on youtube making edits of the 1998-2006 logo, so then they decided to edit splaat and add arms and legs, that's how robosplaat was created ;)
Yes, it's really amusing whenever companies acknowledge that side of the internet whose special interests is playing around with their production logos. Random House is another example, as they did a video briefly examining people's fascination with their home video logo.
3:24 Aww, I kinda felt humbled a little with that description of Ollie Mongo right there, because I actually added that trivia on Wikipedia myself! XD Anyways, I'll probably have my full thoughts about this video later, but let's just say that I used to have a huge hyperfixation on RoboSplaat, and I feel like the circumstances surround that were actually pretty appropriate in terms of the production values IMHO....
Nice video dude! Personally, I agree with a lot of your points. The Graffiti and Splaat logos are still iconic, I didn't find Splaat scary at all and that the Rooster logo was sadly underused (it was also my favorite logo). I wished the Rooster made a comeback in the Rugrats reboot but unfortunately that never happened. Although I did use the Rooster logo in the fanmade end credits I've been making as well as posting 6 of those on my channel. I liked the logo that much and wanted to see what it would be like if it was used for the TV shows instead of Splaat
Really, I wasn't really scared over the Splaat logo either. In fact, when I got into the logo community, was rather surprised that it had such a scaredom that it did. Even remember someone took the CGI Wiki page for KC and told people not to share pictures or videos of it. It was ridiculous. But it's too bad the Rooster wasn't used as much as it could have been. It could have been one of their more popular logos. Good observation pointing out that it was wasted
There were three "Edith Ann" specials, with the one I got the clip from being "A Few Pieces of the Puzzle". I only found out about their existence when I first saw Klasky Csupo's sizzle reel in 2014, though I was already mildly aware of Lily Tomlin's Edith Ann persona since she made guest appearances on "Sesame Street".
Yes, I've been an instant fan of Jay's videos ever since I found the "It's Not Scary" episode covering Erry Vision's logo last year. It's not every day you find a good quality TH-cam channel that *talks* about production logos as opposed to just *uploading* them, and his series proved to be very binge-worthy thanks to the way he presents his opinions. It's a shame that he had to remove his content from TH-cam recently due to something regarding the tension between Jay and his mom.
SPLAAT is really not that scary. I got creeped out by all the photos of it and got nightmares of it, but when I watched the actual logo the day before Halloween 2020, I didn't flinch.
And the 2002 logo, despite all's saying, actually is less scarier. It removes everything that could pertain to it's scare factor (being in your face, the jiggly eyes, the creepily realistic CGI). Cheap isn't enough to be scary, kids.
I feel like all of the logo's before 2016 were the best ones, although the 2016 is good, it's not as well made as the other's, which kind of sets it apart, it's also really forgettable.
Hey Happy early Thanksgiving love your video Although If you want to talk about people that are worse than Dodie Bishop I think I got a candidate that Put Bart Simpson to shame Eric cartman anyone?
You're right that Cartman is objectively a worse person than Dodie. And yet, due to how over-the-top his sociopathy is portrayed to laughable degrees, I have way less unironic hatred towards him compared to that pigtailed menace. BTW, I already celebrated Thanksgiving last October since I'm Canadian. but thanks for the wishes, anyway. If anything, I mostly take American Thanksgiving as an opportunity to watch a second helping of "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving". LOL
