As an sd uf infp there's a therapeutic quality to hearing someone describe the ways they came to understand our type of burdens and perspectives. It's a perspective or type of pain that is rarely understood and validated by this society. Getting some kind of compassion is nice to experience, especially because we spend so much time understanding and sympathizing for other peoples perspectives. Really that reciprocation means a lot.
I'm an INFP with a strong moral compass and when I read 48 laws of power I don't feel repulsed. I'm not shocked. I just get it. Its stuff I always knew but just didn't know that I knew it. I observe it all over the place on a daily basis. Something about Greene's approach to this subject is very natural and understandable to me. I do not find it antithetical to my morality to be honest about the truth of the reality of power. Just reread that last sentence--simply talking about Greene and I'm now suddenly typing in the style of a Ti/Se user. I'm literally an INFP thinking about Greene and merely through the act of considering his work he is able to draw the SD-UF out of me as well. For INFPs like myself his work is a gateway to Ti and that is a very powerful resource indeed for our type. Thank you for the insightful discussion, John!
As an INFP raised by a crazy ESTJ mother (despite all my love for her), My Ti Demon was heavily exercised in order to survive Te Hero. This led me to Robert Greene's unique INFP temperament to be the most relatable person on earth to me, the awareness of Fi hero's flaws was something I despised and desired to conquer as quickly as possible because it was a weakness. I wonder how many other INFPs out there have this same experience lol 🧐 ANYWAY iNfP BoOk rAnT oVeR
Can you describe the way your ti démon was exercised by her Te hero? Please 🙂. I think, as a ti démon type myself, that I had a similar experience, that's why I asked.
An INFP's Socionics Benefactor is an INTJ. Which means they get more energized when using NiTe the way INTJs use it. So it does not surprise me at all he gets mistyped as an INTJ.
As an INFP, there is nothing more saddening and deeply tiresome than witnessing the power that people use over one another. This has been a very informative video, because I initially thought RG's book was written with a view to a person learning how to acquire power and I was repulsed by the strategies being discussed, because it was painful to see these aspects occur in reality. I now understand that it must have been the utmost self-sacrificing process to share that by which we use and witness power implemented, can ultimately then only bring harmony among people. This is the INFPs struggle and life purpose in their eyes. When people use strategies of power over the INFP, it incurs so much sadness for them on so many levels. This being one of them. And that a person should think so little of them to seek to enact power over them; this then causes the INFP to be slothful, because the feeling of despair of how humanity can be and of the immediate circumstances the INFP is experiencing, makes the loss of hope that they need more than they can cope with.
This is so important for an INFP I can become totally dark and depressed seeing people using power to control each other and somehow I feel responsible to keep the harmony and resolve the conflict
I am infp and this was in my mind all the time I have to make book like that.this staff we learn to ourselves the hard way so someone has to write books on that. And then Robert Green came and made it.
John, as a Te nemesis I actually enjoy listening to you - nicely structured thoughts and conclusions, appreciate the amount of effort you put into the video.

And please specify examples where they display their origin, living virtue, deadly sin, and pole. P.S. Great video about Robert Greene.
48 Laws of power was written by an INTP that realized being truthful and just speaking your mind won't get you very far in this world; people won't like you very much because people don't like to be told that they're wrong. instead you have to constantly be aware of other people's egos, and navigate around that.
@@Aziz0938 Really, so when you see someone who writes a book on using principles of human nature to socially manipulate people to get what you want, with laws like "crush your enemy totally ", "keep others in suspended terror", "never put too much trust in friends, learn how to use enemies", "avoid the unhappy and the unlucky", you think to yourself, "this seems like someone who's really in touch with their own inner values and authenticity, must be an INFP" I mean seriously.....

Awesome video, John. I enjoyed watching/listening a lot! 48 Laws of Power will likely always be my favorite, followed by Mastery. For some reason, The Laws of Human Nature didn't seem so profound when I read it because around the same time it came out was shortly after CSJ started his channel, and Chase really seemed to be nailing the nature side of the equation more than the book did. But I definitely have to revisit it so I can experience its ideas again without that unfair comparison. The Daily Laws is excellent, especially if you have fully explored the ideas within his previously published work. It's so helpful to have concise reminders.
I felt the same way about Laws of Human Nature. Didn't seem as dense or deep as his other work. Though the stories he used in that book are still the most vivid for me of all his books I've read.
Excellent analysis. I remember reading some of your articles which are very insightful, so I recommend everyone to read them. Miyamoto Musashi was very remarkable. Other historical figures I'm curious to know of their type are Erwin Rommel, Hannibal Barca, and Alexander the Great.
I have read some of his books and I can definitely imagine that they would be useful to people, but for me it didn't feel like he hit something deeper. Maybe because it's more written for men... I don't know

I have already asked Chase in the comments a long time ago, what type he though Uchiha Obito was (from naruto), and he confirmed with a reply to my comment, what I already knew, but that my Ti critic refused to accept without external validation: Obito was an INTJ. This is why I so strongly related to his character! Now what I would like to know is what octagram he thinks Obito has. In this case, I'm not really sure myself. So Chase, if you are reading this, what do you think is Uchiha Obito's octagram from Naruto? And while your here, what do you think Yagami Light (from Death Note) is, octagram wise?
