Thanks! And yeah I have pedals, though this specific audio was recorded separately from the video since, with my set up, it'd be kind of impossible to do it any other way. So the switch that you hear is actually two separate recordings being put together
I really loved how you played the song, I bought my electric guitar not long ago and I’m anxious to learn this cover that you made. Though I have a question, given that I’m a kind of beginner using this instrument, do I need a pedal for playing this cover? I don’t completely know for what it is, but just in case I would like to know:)
If your amp doesn't have a drive channel, you should probably get a pedal for that (and regular distortion/overdrive pedal should be fine). Other than that you shouldn't necessarily need any pedal, they're just cosmetic. I never had any pedals until 5 years into playing :) Good luck!
4 months and I finally could learn how to play the song🥹, I only would need pedals so it sounds better and I bit more of practice to strum some strings faster
Great cover and tab! It sounds awesome! I was wondering, how did you get that muted sound at 0:23? It sounds kinda like palm muting but I can't tell if that's what you're doing. I was also wondering how you muted the other strings at 3:29? I've always struggled with that. Thanks for the tab, I'm definitely learning this one!
Hey, great cover ! It's my favorite song and I really want to learn it, but I've never seen before a tab with those signs, I don't understand some of them... Like, what do the signs at the bottom means ? Basically, I don't understand all the things that aren't number... Can someone help me please ?
Glad you enjoyed it! Those are supposed to signify the length of the note. If you look at normal music sheets you'll see the similarities and should be able to understand the tabs. It's not necessary to learn the song, you can learn from hearing it be played as well
How did you get the tab on screen while you’re playing? I wanna make a video similar to this but with an Elliott Smith song. If you could answer I’d really appreciate it :)
@@Distracted_Person yeah you're welcome! I don't haha, it's not really possible to make money off of covers since they're copyrighted. There are ads on my videos but they're placed there by the copyright owners and the money goes to them :)
It's definitely possible to be accurate, it's all just about how much you play/practice. I started actively practicing about 4 years ago at the time of filming this video, so not that long :)
@@emmamercer5658 ive just started trying to learn and was wondering if you have any things I should specifically focus on like certain songs or scales?
@@marcusortyl5056 well the way I learned at the start was I learned the rhythm guitar for the songs I liked. I'd obviously recommend starting with easy things and moving on to harder ones. You definitely shouldn't learn a song like this as a beginner. Start with chords, learn their variations (barre chords), it's good to know pentatonics and things like that. That should give you a good foundation to then learn more complex things. I'd also recommend practicing with a metronome so that you learn to keep tempo, that's a struggle for a lot of people. If you have any further questions feel free to ask :)
@joseluisbringas4549 I covered some parts from both guitars, if you'd like a full breakdown of both guitars I recommend looking up some tabs on Ultimate guitar :)
Electric guitars have a very wide variety of sound depending on the guitar itself, the amp, of course pedals which have endless possibilities, and many more. All the gear I used to make this video is in the description :)
well you usually start with a down stroke, so on every odd eighth you play a down stroke and every even eithth you play an upstroke - that is if you're switching. You can also do all downstrokes, that's up to what kind of sound you want to get (all upstroke sounds more intense, heavy). But that being said, there's not a specific rule for it. I honestly don't really think about whether I'm doing an upstroke or a downstroke. It is good to get a basic technique down, though, so that you can use upstroke effectively and don't have to rely on just downstrokes (for example when you're switching strings and you have to play an upstroke, it can be difficult if you're a beginner). I'd recommend looking up some excercises for this, there's definitely going to be some on the internet :)
3:15 Personal time stamp for that EPIC progression
I agreeee
that crunch was so beautiful it gave me chills
I started watching the video and saw your comment and I inmediately went "yeah, no way it's *that* good". I kept watching, I ate my words
whats a crunch?

It's charming and at the same time angry at the way you play! Congratulations..
great video!! loved how you combined both guitar parts! But how do you switch from clean to overdrive so quickly? are you using a pedal?

This is amazing! Would you by chance have the tabs available for download like you do in your other videos? You make playing look effortless!

Just the clean and overdrive channel on my amp which you can find in the description

I write the tabs down in guitar pro and then screen record as the software plays through it :)

Honestly mental, I dont think ill ever be able to be so accurate with moving from like fret 3 - 12 .. how long did it take you to learn this?
