Discovered that in France and Germany when I tried to use my limited skills. I can talk with people but to hold a conversation for some time, no. Europe in the late 70s did speak English but it was still the younger folks mostly. I can "survive" in Spanish, French, and German, but that's all.
I see people talking about him being irritating for these people... but he talks their language, knows about their culture, and he's so respectful. Chinese tourists wouldn't even take a sec to try and talk in a foreigners country

Shaobing from 11:50 was what I used to eat daily on my way back from school. Granted, they were stuffed with more filling back then. And my school used to sell them in the cafeteria for $1. This video makes me nostalgic 😢 I miss Henan 我的家乡

Chef would not the correct term street vendor is more accurate, unless MacDonalds burger flippers are considered Chefs, Real trained Chinese chefs would not be caught dead cooking at street stall.
I still don't know why no food in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, like along the developed east coast of China. Our food is much more delicate and our streets are much cleaner!
