PG was healthy in 2024 vs Mavs. Kawhi had the knee inflammation. In 2022, the Clippers could have made the playoffs but lost the first play in game and then in the 2nd play in game, PG had Covid and they lost to the Pelicans who the Clippers were 8 games ahead of in the standings by season end. 2023, PG had his knee knocked by Lu Dort and hyperextended it. 3 wks before the playoffs. Kawhi got hurt in Rd 1 vs Suns and partially tore his meniscus

Also remember the team did get to the WCF in 2020/2021 only to lose Kawhi.
2022/2023 the team lost PG before the playoffs began and Kawhi in the 2nd game of the first round series.
2023/2024 the team loses Kawhi before the postseason begins and gets two sub par games from him.
The common thread here is Kawhi being unavailable for the postseason, besides the 2019/2020 season.
Kawhi was the centerpiece and everything revolves around that.
People can be as negative as they want but The Clippers were a tough team with a healthy Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Ivica Zubac, and Terrence Mann....
It made a whole lot more sense to give those vets a full training camp together under Coach Lue to work out the kinks defensively.
It is what it is but people really shouldn't be dumping everything on PG....his running mate couldn't stay on the court in 2020/2021 and couldn't do much in 2023/2024 in the postseason on inflamed knees.
He didn't leave because he didn't want to play with Kawhi and Harden, he left because he wanted a max salary.
Fans can say he isn't worth it but one team took the risk and said he is worth it.
We'll have to see who was right.

The Clippers could not give him a max deal according to the NBA collective bargaining deal from what I heard...hes not worth it anyway...the guy has no competitive bone in his spirit...it amazes me how nobody ever says it, not even this guy...PG 13 is straight to video and a flop at the box office.
The funny thing is Clippers were loaded last year and imo on paper were a way better team than Dallas even without Kawhi..but PG never took on that challenge of being "that guy"...in fairness, it seems like no one else did either...but the onis is on him being the other "superstar" on the team.

A lot of clippers fans have been around but are mostly in the OC area (Orange County) while like downtown LA and beyond even to the San Fernando valley are lakers fans..usually by default. But there are some diehards.
I became a fan cause I didn’t want to root for the lakers. I remember Kobe and Shaq vividly but I wanted to see another team that hadn’t won it, win. That’s why I’m still here…painfully of course, after all these years. I’ve been following this team since 2006.

I’d say the clippers are testing out this roster without George as a lease for the next 2-3 years. Given both Harden and Kawhi’s contract, it’s safe to say Clippers are close to blowing it up if we have another failed season.
I do like the pickups we’ve gotten so far in Kevin Porter jr, Derrick Jones J, Mo Bamba, Kris Dunn..I hope we can get Demar Derozan to come that’d be amazing.
