    Nice build. Now I have to go make one for me. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Excellent little project, Dan! I have been wanting to put together a programming track as an excuse to try my hand at a little bit of scenery building as well since i've never done any of that. I only really need a single scale, though. I haven't had a chance to even get my Lokprogrammer out of the box and play with it. Also digging the electric guitar outro! :)

      It occurred to me as I was finishing this that it kind of like a layout in that it has benchwork, track, and wiring. There's no reason you couldn't make something like this with some scenery as a kind of mini-layout that would also work as a programming track. I'm glad you liked the music. I wanted a little more rocked out outro for this series. Thanks for watching!

    Add a bit of foam rubber to the ends of track you'll be feeling better not having to replace couplers often that way

      That's a really good idea. I may do that. Thanks for the suggestion and for watching!

    Slick. I must get a programmer as well.

      It's a good tool to have, and I like this setup since everything is contained on one board. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Dan.
    Thank you for getting back to me about the size of your layout you always shoot your videos on. One more question for now 😁🚂🔥. Do you have a video somewhere of the actual track plan of your photo layout? Is it just for photo shoots or can you actually do some switching on it? Either way it’s awesome and I’m going to build the same type while apartment living. Much RESPECT. Your skills are ridiculous. ✊✊🚂🔥🔥

      I don’t think I’ve put the track plan up anywhere as yet. I’ve been thinking of doing a video about it, talking about some of the design and operational aspects. It is fully functional, or at least it was. The layout wasn’t intended to be standalone, but I never got around to building the other part of it since I lived in a condo at the time and didn’t have the room. It’s gotten a little banged up from having been moved around and from age, and I haven’t tried to actually run anything on it in a while. Maybe I’ll clean the track and see if I can get it to run. I want to modify it and include it as part of my new layout. I can do some limited switching on it. Thanks for watching!

      I’m sure you don’t already have enough on your plate so go ahead and let’s get a video done on the layout 😂😂LOl. Thanks again

    I got it better. I isolated 1 meter of HO track on my layout from the rest using the insulation joiners. This block of the track is normally feeded from same DCC source like the rest. When I want to program any loco I navigate her to this block and per switch I switch the power source to Programmer. After I program the loco I switch back to DCC power source and continue operation of the loco with new parameters, for. Ex with new DCC Address. The advantage is that I must not put the loco from the track.

      It sounds like you've taken some good precautions against shorting. I don't like to handle my models too much, either, but I usually only have to put them on the programming track when I first set them up. Thanks for watching!

      @@DanielCortopassi I do the opposite. Before I do any programming to the model I run it with default address on my layout. This way I can test it with settings from factory. Unfortunatelly I experienced some models with defective decoders or with any other issues. This way I test it first and in case of any issue I return it back to seller. In case if everything is OK, decoder is OK, no mechanical issues with wheels, universal joints, motor etc., I got the model already on track, I park it at the programming block and per mechanical switch I switch the block to ESU Programmer. The rest of the track can be on demand also automatically switched off to prevent any problems when I move from programming track to rest of my layout.

      @@MaxSupercars Good Idea but what are you doing if you have locs which require a non-esu Programmer....

    • @MaxSupercars
      @MaxSupercars ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hb9dod They use 3-way switch or n-way switch to "n" different programmers... 😃 It depends on you what do you want to switch between. 🙂
