Cape Town has several reserves within the city boundaries. I have a marine reserve on one side, Table Mountain NP on the other. We have whales, orca, dolphins....and caracal, antelopes, Verreux eagles, fish eagles, kestrels, baboons, geelslang, boomslang, puf adder, skaapsteker. Think again about Bloemfontein being so unique. People often have opinions but not the facts. The caracal / rooikat is spotted fairly frequently by Signal Hill and Lion's Head hikers. Table Mountain NP, another near AFB Ysterplaat, Tygerberg NR, all within city boundaries. Zeekoevlei NR, Zandvlei, Tokai Forest, Newlands Forest. Too many to mention, and all within the City.
