the start of "the negative one" is probably one of the most moshable song moments I know.
I honestly think this is one of the most beautiful songs by Slipknot, I love how it calms but then the guitar gets more intense. Also Corey has a very nice voice throughout.
I will never forget the time I asked my eighth grade teacher if I could use this song to represent The Pearl by John Steinbeck and she said yes. I got an A because the song’s meaning was good for the story and it blew my fucking mind that my favorite song could get me an A in school. Best teacher I ever had.

Honestly the song isn't inherently satanic. When you think about it it's a song about how others might think of you as evil and aren't willing to forgive you, but if they actually looked at what they thought you were wrong about they would change their mind to your point of view. Unpainted can be taken as how know matter what you do some will never accept you so it's not worth trying to please them. The irony is if a Christian listened to this and took offense then they aren't as forgiving of a person as they need to be.

I remember hearing the self titled album for the first time when inwas 10 years old. My sister had the cd and tho iv loved slipknot throughout the years, nothing they do will be as impactfu and righteous as that first album. Im 3o now and still listen to it fairly regularly

I'll admit, I'm not a death metal, deathcore, or even much of a heavy metal fan for that matter. But I can get behind this one. It's not too screamy, the guy has a great voice, the drummer that's in this one (I am aware he's no longer with them) is insane. That drum solo is badass. It's a damn good song.
