I think it's hilarious! If they were really scared, they'd try to run or strike for real. They're just trying to be big, tough snakes and impress us with their fierceness.
My girlfriend and I think our bulls have grandpa lips when they're in a hissy mood. Honestly, our Bulls are the most fun to work with. They just all have such individual personalities.
So I realize that this is totally off the subject of 🐍snakes, but Ijust had to say, that Clints sweet- babygirl, "Ms. Penny Rose," is just precious! She looks so much like her Daddy.😳 ( "IT'S THE BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES!") It's also very obvious that she's a Daddys girl.. {❣️Me too! } "SOO STINKING SWEET!" She reminds me of my lil girl who is now 26yr.old, many yrs.ago! Time flies!😃
Beautiful additions hope they arrive quickly! What an amazing collection of sneks that guy has thank you for showing us! Blown away by some of those colors and patterns 🤩
I love your videos, you're heading all over the States and the world, and your enthusiasm is just contagious! And when you go herping abroad it's a full on nature documentary, I love it!
Awesome video Dav!! Love seeing Clint and Brian in your video again. I love you all!! Thank you Jason for sharing all your beautiful snakes. I love bull snakes and Gopher snakes. I love all snakes LOL. Congratulations on the two new additions to the family as well Dav. Very beautiful little gopher snakes and now I'm thinking about getting one. Very adorable. Best of luck with them.
Hi I Dav Thanks for taking that trip, to see all of those awesome snakes. It was nice to see Clint with his beautiful daughter. I think Brian is going to keep that snake as a fashion statement. Looks like a fancy bracelet. I really enjoyed that video. Cindy
Dāv, I hope you filmed an unboxing/setup video with those two snakes when they came in :). Great video about a genus that that is sorely under-represented in the media of this hobby. Amazing snakes!
The first wild Bullsnake I ever picked up tagged me good 3 or 4 times rapid fire before I could even drop it ! I was about 11 years old at the time visiting my Aunt in Nebraska and thought it was a Gophersnake, we lived in California and I had caught dozens of Gophersnakes with no problems! I was sure surprised, and it made me bleed!!!
So seeing these go for snakes remind me of one of my favorite stories from my childhood. Sitting at the dinner table, my brother continues to screw around enough to take my mom off. So she told him if he continues she was going to get the belt. He continued. Mom got up from the table, and within 20 seconds, we hear a blood 🩸 curdling scream. We found my Mom cornered with a gopher snake 🐍 crawling up her stomach, headed for her neck. My brother grabbed the snake quickly, and did a foot ball run toward the front door. He quickly found the entrance to the crawlspace under our house and released it there. Fair to say, my brother was grounded for a long time to come.
YES!!! This is the therapy I needed today. I've been waiting for this vid, since Brian teased that you guys were checking out pits! I'm the same. Bulls are my favorite!! But... you didn't say "feed your reptile obsession" at the end. You don't want me to buy more snakes? lol.
Brian and Clint are always a great addition to your vids. Everyone is so focused on exotic stuff i always forget how cool bull, gopher snakes are. And we dont have them up here in OR. Great video.
AWSOME snakes! Totally Rad!! I grew up in California and from childhood I have been catching Pacific Gopher Snakes and only one ever really bit me and quite a few struck out without biting, they ALL buzzed their tails and 90 % of them calmed down enough in less then a day to the point I would ride my bike around the neighborhood with my new pet wrapped around my neck! When I was 11 we went to see family in Nebraska and I was running around with one of the local kids and of coarse I'm turning boards and tin and cardboard looking for Snakes and Lizards (the local kid thought I was crazy!) and I found a Bullsnake under a big flat piece of cardboard, I had never heard of Bullsnakes before and thought I found a Gopher Snake!! I picked it up and POW!!! that snake bit the shit out me tagging me 3 or 4 times rapid fire before I could even drop it and when I did it curled up right in front of me the old S curve neck, head high ready to keep tagging tail vibrating away! I was surprised because it looked just like the Gophersnakes back home, and I got to looking a little closer and the only real difference I could discern was the head was a little bigger with a more rectangular shape overall and it was thicker the most Gophersnakes! The kid I was with was laughing his ass off because I was acting so smart about Snakes and Lizards and was being kind of conceited about it guess, and he told me it was a Bullsnake not a Gophersnake and that nobody around there tries to handle them! That's one of my early Reptile adventures so Mr. Dave feed your obsession before it's trying to eat you, and Rattle on! oh by the way you never told me about the Martian Soft Furs!!
Pits are some of my favorite colubrids. Such an amazing animal. I used to breed pines, northern, black, Louisiana for years. It was such a joy. Sadly I had to move to a location with much less room, so the breeding stopped, considering that these large colubrids require a lot of space.
Most of the gopher/bulls I've met have these beautiful peach spots near their tails, and I haven't seen it in the captive bred ones; is there a reason for this? Also, the wild Pine Snakes I've seen seem to have much longer heads, so much so that they're easy to tell apart from gopher/bulls, but in videos like this one it isn't very noticeable, and I'm wondering why...
Great episode I am a huge fan of the pine bull gopher lines myself. One day I would like to add them to my collection, but untill then I'll just have to follow yours. Have a great weekend man.
The Pine snakes and the Bull Snakes are some sassy frass snakes lol. I would have to get used to that cause boy that made me jump just a little bit. Those Santiago Gopher Snakes are cool!
I loved this video. I watch your videos on bull snakes over and over to learn as much as I can, so keep them coming and I wish I could have been there to look in all those tubs. Where was this at Dave?
I'm getting a Miami Axanthic ph Stillwater here in a few days, and I'm so excited! It'll be my first pit. Gophers are off limits because I'm in California unless I want to buy a fishing license every year 😒
There is an 8' California king down at my buddy's house, so he says. I have not seen him yet but when I do he'll be coming home to visit me for a minute
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I keep just laughing my head off at these bull snakes trying to be all fierce and hissing like annoyed cats! Like they don't know perfectly well where their next mouse is coming from!
How do you do scale counts to tell the difference from Gopher and Bulls?? Gonna do a vid? :-) Like Klint per Ball pythons throw a bunch of genes together and get a brown mess lol . I call it the color of a tape worm. Dont get me wrong I love Ball Pythons and have them myself. But Bulls are amazing 3 snakes in one most time! Yep King snake acupuncture! Always a good recap!
Hahahaa yes I do the same with the cardboard boxes. I order so much sh*t online I have so many left over and comes in handy when I cant find hides big enough for my hog island boa. Dont know if she likes them or not they last a few days and I check back and shes flattened the box. Lil cutie doesnt know how big she is xD
Thanks Dāv for the content! If you ever find yourself in the St. Louis area and you’re wanting to get out and do some heeling lemme know. BK has my info.
Legend has it, that snake is still biting Brian 😂😂😂
I love Clint the guy is a legend
Is it strange that I find them cuter when they are hissing? Cute grumpy noodles
Same! What is so adorable about sassy snakes with attitudes? Not a clue, but I love em!
No I totally agree with you.
I'm the same with my baby hognose female. She thinks shes a scary pancake snake but it makes me love her even more every timeeee, shes adorable.
They're so cute 😍 but those bulls just fascinate me with they're hiss. Why is it so adorable when they do that the little faces 😍 ?!
I really like these snakes and the black pine snake.... wow !!!!😍
Finally did the Mexican King let go or Brian has had to buy it ??? 🤣
Still waiting for that show... Dav and
Brian’s adventures. Love when you all hang out. Clint/ daughter are the bonus! Safe travels to all!👍
Jason has amazing animals I owned several animals from him and is the my number 1 reference when ppl ask me about pits
Love the bull snake attitudes and Brian’s king snake acupuncture.
That black pine snake! 😍 I may have to add one of those to family!
Do it!
And on that day, Brian found the most metal wristband possible. Black, scaled, making him bleed, trying to kill him, and slowly eating him.
Love the Pituophis, especially Bulls and Pines!
Yessss, perfect way to begin my day 🤘
Awesome!
SAME!!!!
Couldn't agree more!! My day just got way better!!

Just ordered a Kingsville Red Bull from Jason. Can't wait to get it. The guy is a legend when it comes to Bull and Gopher Snakes.
A wild Clint appears!
Gopher, Bull and Pine snakes are so awesome. Most of what I had when I was a kid were Gopher Snakes and Bull snakes. Thank you for sharing.
Another video where the beauty of reptiles blows me away
I love your videos, you're heading all over the States and the world, and your enthusiasm is just contagious! And when you go herping abroad it's a full on nature documentary, I love it!
I absolutely adore my black pine snake! Active, curious, slightly spicy and just GORGEOUS!
I've gone back and watched this episode so many times! It's in my TH-cam pituophis hall of fame for sure!
Ive probably watched this episode 30 times! Great content
Dang it, now I have to start collecting bull snakes! I swore I would never get into colubrids but man those bull snakes are something else.
COLUBRIDS RULE!!!
Awesome video Dav!! Love seeing Clint and Brian in your video again. I love you all!! Thank you Jason for sharing all your beautiful snakes. I love bull snakes and Gopher snakes. I love all snakes LOL.

Dāv, I hope you filmed an unboxing/setup video with those two snakes when they came in :). Great video about a genus that that is sorely under-represented in the media of this hobby. Amazing snakes!
Think I'm going to have to pick up a bullsnake now. Those examples of the species were absolutely stunning and impressive!!

Hey Clint! 🤣
I loved this video. I watch your videos on bull snakes over and over to learn as much as I can, so keep them coming and I wish I could have been there to look in all those tubs. Where was this at Dave?
Can pine snakes, bull snakes, and gopher snakes all interbreed??? I can’t believe I can’t find this answer any where.
Their faces when they get angry!
I'm getting a Miami Axanthic ph Stillwater here in a few days, and I'm so excited! It'll be my first pit. Gophers are off limits because I'm in California unless I want to buy a fishing license every year 😒
I have never been bit by my Mexican black but Brian’s got me wanting to test this out.
I see the Lich King poster in the background, my buddy Nick Timney is the guitarist in that band!
Beautiful snakes, I hope they recovered from the mic episode.
Why didn’t I think of that! Cereal hide boxes it is at my place from now on!!
Would have giving anything to be there n see all them snakes.
I think I need to get some more bull snakes!
Theyre all so pretty I'm working on getting my first bull snake
All so beautiful my first pet snake was a wild caught 2ft SD gopher snake I got “100 years ago” when I was 10. V sweet never hissed or bit.
I aspire to have this many snakes lol
There is an 8' California king down at my buddy's house, so he says.
I have not seen him yet but when I do he'll be coming home to visit me for a minute
I really hope my red stillwater doesn't end up being a firecracker like that guy LMAO. He was ready to fight.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I keep just laughing my head off at these bull snakes trying to be all fierce and hissing like annoyed cats! Like they don't know perfectly well where their next mouse is coming from!
So did the snake ever let go? Or does he have a new snake to add to his collection. 😳🤣🤣

Please make a vid about black pines. Had one 20 years ago and still the best I had in my collection. Loads of noise but never bite.
The black pine snake is one of my dream snakes! But, I can’t have one cross into Michigan without a permit. And, I’ve no idea how to get a permit. 😞
Any updates on the two babies you brought home??
Thanks Dāv for the content! If you ever find yourself in the St. Louis area and you’re wanting to get out and do some heeling lemme know. BK has my info.
