  • This sagittal section of Head & Neck is very important for practical exam. This video is taken in Dissection hall of department of anatomy, M P shah Govt. medical College, Jamnagar (Gujarat). Kindly go through it.

      @@orson9880 Guess you couldn't understand my comment." Thanking the donor" hence my total understanding that this very thoughtful human being gave his body to science and allowing himself to become a specimen. So whether you don't like and or understand that then
      maybe you should go instigate conflict else where. Let Webster define specimen: An individual ( human) , plant, animal, used for study or display.

    This is amazing. I'm currently a student in radiology studying CT and MRI, so I see sagittal images all the time, but seeing the actual anatomy of a sagittal view is exciting. Very well explained. Thank you

    He is giving a HUGE amount of anatomical information. The head is incredibly complex to learn, and frankly, I'm glad those days are long, long behind me. Still fascinating to see a real dissected head as opposed to a picture or a sketch. So glad I went into Internal Medicine rather than surgery.

    The cross section looks deceptively simple. A cutaway of a car engine would appear more complex to the eye. Yet this is literally the most intricate system in the known universe--a machine that can feel and reason and hope and love.

    I have no idea how these specimens are prepared, but I keep imaging the posibility of someone cutting a head in half with a band saw. If that's the case, mad respect to the preparers for having strong guts. Also respect to the donor

    First of all, you guys need to hire a much better videographer. It was very frustrating seeing the operator struggling with the basic operation of a camera and not following along the doctor/surgeon. Second of all, thank you for sharing this video.     the cut is even probably by using a blade tool used on woodmaking. I just imagine a head been passthrough a blade and its noise. all for science.

      It might have been cut by a waterjet cutter or a katana. The cut is very clean

      And it's all important. Make a mistake, you kill a human being. Medicine is not for everyone, and sadly, it is being dumbed down horribly, just as the rest of the education system is. Sorry, physicians are NOT nurse practitioners, or physicians' assistants. Glad I left when I did. Dr H, MD

      I think they deep freeze these things and then either use a water jet along with a scalpel for the finer tissues or like you said a large circular blade.

      In Medical Colleges, these bodies are always real
