It was yellow in the manga, the anime just always fucks shit up and made it blue. They changed it for this season because yellow clashes better with blue. If the attack was still blue the colors would look ugly because theres so much blue everywhere. Also originally naruto's rassengan was going to be yellow as well. Hope this helps.
