I agree, this is the kind of comment I always posts, like the case of Anna Nicolaychk and Polina Gagarina's version of Lullaby.... the original is always original, period... but doing it in another version or in version w/c suits the singer is very very very fine... Oh I totally agree. Music itself is subjective. I personally just felt this cover is better to listen to than the original. I have nothing against the original, I just don't enjoy it as much as this cover. To rephrase, I should've said, I like to listen to this cover way more than the original, I think that makes it less subjective, given it is now my personal preference.
You should listen the Aloe Blacc acoustic.

Been trying to work out which one of Birdys covers or originals I like the best, this one must be up there with" ,Skinny Love, A Team ,Terrible Love,and her own Not About Angels,Wings and Let It All Go" ,(the latter with Rhodes). But that can change from day to day depending on the mood I'm in. While pondering my favorite I became overwhelmed with the reality of this amazing format of the computer, internet ,broadband and TH-cam .What a wonderful way of enjoying artist like Birdy and hundreds of others over and over again .With all the bad things going on in the world this must be one of the best things and its free. Lets hope it stays that way. Remember Birdy and many other artist may not have been discover if hadn't been for TH-cam. Thank-you You tube and all those who put it up there for us.

It's useless to say that in the original song the meaning of the lyrics gets lost while her cover is focused on the lyrics and the instrumental part is only a contour so you can perfectly feel the weight of the words. Bravo!

Guys.... Birdy did not cover the DJ Avicii's mix of this, but the original song by Aloe Blacc. Which is also pretty poignant. So before you go saying she made a calmer version of the "original" make sure you know what the "original" song is.
