    fun fact: sand does *not* retain heat at all, so at night in the desert is usually cold. It's why the bedouin often have multi-layered clothing, because it can get very hot in the morning and very cold at night.

      @@holzmann8443 well he is actually right. The problem with this is that it works both ways, which you haven't realized. Sand has low heat transfer but also low heat absorption. Deserts are hot during the day because of sunlight, not hot sand. Once the sun is gone, there is almost nothing left remaining that is warm to radiate extra heat during the night. It's true that the sand loses its heat very slowly, but it never had much to begin with. Also, desert sand is not the same as beach sand, as anyone who's ever been to a desert would know (it is much much finer, and gets everywhere. In Iraq we called it "moondust")

    • @deqth1520
      @deqth1520 2 ปีที่แล้ว +222

      TO add to the bedouin clothing trivia. They do wear multilayered clothing. But they are often light and of blue color so that they do not absorb much heat during the day (which also explains why they do cover their heads even during daytime). Ingenious clothing truly, protects from both heat/sunlight and cold with minimal adjustments.

    My father recently passed away from cancer. In the last few months of his life me and my family took a trip to Rhossili beach in Wales. I played this album in the car on the way there. Watching the English and Welsh countryside pass, the green fields and grey water and sky reminded me of similar trips we used to take when I was young. Now when I listen to this I think about my dad. His soul traveling through the infinite, past stars and planets and ancient celestial space temples. How remarkable our world is, and how lucky we are that people can give us such meaningful music as this. Thank you for sharing this album, it will always be close to my heart

    This album cover and music reminds me of a trinket I had as a child. It was a triangle shaped snow globe filled with golden sand that you could swirl. Idk why, but for some reason I feel emotions that I don't normally feel when I listen to songs like this. They make me start thinking of all the people I love most, and all of the most enjoyable moments I've spent with them, like the day I first met my boyfriend irl. I remember driving down for 3 hours just to come see him, arriving at a park near his house to meet him. When I told him I arrived earlier than we planned, he decided to leave school early just to come and see me, the goof. I remember seeing him drive up next to my car, and the first thing he did when he got out was give me a big, loving hug. I remember the pretty smell of a blossoming tree nearby as we stood there for what felt like an eon. I know it wasn't the most crazy moment imaginable, but it's a moment that sticks with me quite a bit.

    Looking at the album cover and listening to the last track, I imagine being peacefully surrounded by a blanket of warm, shifting sand in the dark of night. At first this didn't rock my world, but that first song is really with me. The cover is something out of a dream, it reminds me of a SNES sticker or game cover. Deeply spiritual, yet technological, something that belongs in the late 1980s or early 1990s, before my time but coming into my time. The dreamlike time I do not know, the darkness before the light of me opening my eyes for the first time.

      I was born in 1992. And this first song has stuck with me too. I feel like it brings me back to that hazy period of my early childhood when my ability to process experiences I could think back on first formed..When the memories are much like that of a lucid dream. Real memories, but with a fever dream haze. Melancholy. Nostalgia. I shed a tear as I write this comment listening to the progression of this track.

    When i was a young girl i was fascinated with pyramids and Egyptian culture, I even did a presentation on the pyramids in grade 6, lol. I always wore an Ankh from the age of 11 and I still do in the form of a tatoo just above my sternum as it's a very sacred symbol within my conciousness, it doesn't feel like a tatoo though more like an inner talisman, not for show. When I was 29 I had my first Reikki session and had my first transcendental experience, like an initiation where i was transported through a series of brightly coloured portals and came to be within a pyramidal structure. I was within a small room near the apex. The room was full of light, everything was made of warm sand and there was a small door on two of the opposing sides overlooking a vast desert landscape. In the room there was a 3 legged golden basin of water with which a splashed myself. I was wearing a white muslin gown. After preparing myself I walked over to a simple alter and laid down upon it. I felt my spirit rise above my physical form and floating directly above I turned over to look upon myself. I saw an incision fom from my sternum to my pubic bone which slowly opened up and i could see within my body, all the organs shining like coloured jewels looking healthy and beautiful. A feeling of joy came from within and the incision closed, no pain, no blood. I then moved back into my body and stood up in the centre of the room. I tilted my head back and felt a mighty tone releasing from my throat as a violet ray of light spiralled within my minds eye and then appearing around the base of the pyramid spiralling upward and aorund the pyramid and then straight up into the heavens. Then I could hear a roar of happy voices coming from outside and went to the doorway and saw my father ascending a stairway up the outside of the pyramid. Then suddenly everything went black and silent. In the distance i could see a point of light moving closer, growing brighter until before my vision was a massive illuminated golden tree. Scintallating and dripping with golden light. My heart felt like it was going to burst. Then I came back into the therapy room, needless to say I was in an elevated state of hyper awareness and it was difficult to come back. At that time of my life I knew nothing of the energy that is generated by the pyramids, about the tree of life, or so many things i have come to understand and know, or maybe re-member! I'm 57 now and have learned much but that experience was like a cosmic initiation into the deeper knowing of the magic that is here and within. More recently in the years since that day I've seen documents on the pyramids being energy generators and that they use sound and vibration for healing and the health of our Beautiful Mother Earth. Everything in that experience was of a deeply personal revelation but I feel it is shared knowledge. Maybe from other lives or from the collective Akashic. Anyway I've never shared this but every now and then something triggers the memory and the pictuire did this. JOY and LOVE to you all!!!! Loving these sounds 💜

I often get heavily distracted and stressed, but whenever i find the will to listen to this album for at least 15 minutes, i begin to feel everything again; desire to study, desires to draw, desires to dream, and hope for a peaceful day. And of course, it is pretty cool to imagine landscapes beyond imagination fueled by japanese nostalgia 😊
    Thank you a lot, desert sand feels warm at night. Windows96 is my favorite vaporwave artist, but you're my favorite slushwave artist by far

    Never thought ambient slushwave could make me cry. Started tearing up at 1:26:54. And I think its because of all this bottle up stress about school, family, friends, and everything else. Like I'm just sitting here with tears rolling down my face, Jesus Christ am I tired.

    I took a trip to Joshua Tree and Borrego Springs and the desert sand was very warm at night. It was so cozy. I sat outside and looked up at the open sky and listened to this, while gazing at Jupiter and Saturn's majesty in the distance. It was the most peaceful moment of my life.

      Deserts are usually cold since the heat isn’t stored in the sand, and cold air replaces it. So are you sure the desert sand feels warm at night? 😅

    • @mattynek2
      @mattynek2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vapour_wav That's the question. What if the sentence "desert sand feels warm at night" is a lie, just to make world feel like it makes more sense? Just the idea of desert sand being warm at night is comforting and relaxing, so why not?

      @@vapour_wav When it's over 90 degrees prior to sunrise and over 100 after sunset for days on end, the sand definitely retains heat. It was incredible. Trust me. I expected it to be frigid and it was like slipping my feet into warm booties.
