Fun fact, on that Tea escape mission if you get dancing elf on Tea’s team up a level (assuming it’s your first time through and you’re doing yugi’s campaign first) it gains an ability called screen mist that blinds the enemy team and makes it super easy to solo that entire mission using only Tea.
Man, as janky as this game is. I absolutely love it. Idk why. But I fell in love with this game. I am replaying it now, is why I found;this video. Just seeing what others have to say, I can see why it’s not regarded highly by the masses. You gotta be a big Yu gi oh fan. And also not mind the slowness. The game has a decent amount of depth to it, and tricks. Violent crystals, power of nature, and other specific item that buff, and give extra actions to certain monsters, are OP. And certain monsters are stealth powerhouses. Even snake fangs a poison item. Can do huge work with monsters with many action points. Another item called deal of phantom is a equip that gives more action points. So many hidden goodies,
I spam those and build comps that have similar stuff!!! Also some monsters have special effects on their normal attacks too. A lot more fun. Tru the game on 150-200% speed on an emulation way cooler
I have to agree. Normally, maybe this could’ve been one of those games that I wouldn’t have finished for one reason or other, but I did finish all 3 campaigns and even collected at least most (or all?) of the optional monsters out there. Not to mention the music is really good.
Honestly i loved this game when i was a kid. As an adult and now learning about Yugioh card lores, im honestly wanting a more modern JRPG of Yugioh with the lore of the monsters like Duel Terminal, World Legacy, or Albaz/Abyss stories. They recently started making mangas for archetypes like Sky Strikers and soon Magistus, so maybe if they wanna build a huge lore with the bigger stories, a JRPG wouldnt be that bad
I just found this Game and try to play it. Idk this is one of these Games, who makes 100% more fun with cheating and speed up with an emulator, it fixed all bad things about this Game. Its less Challange when u have all Cards/Monster, but makes fun just to destroy the enemy with my lovly team
This game has a strangely high expectation of the player to "explore". The most obvious case is roaming monsters, but the concept is more generally applicable to any case of hidden or untelegraphed information the game provides rewards for learning. Other examples include the shop inventories, as well as monster specials + fusions. This really fights back against the strategy genre, expecting you to expend resources (money, game-time, real-time) with 0 guarantee of discovering anything useful. Strategy games must strike the perfect balance of hiding info from the player, and this game hides info in all the wrong places.
If you’ve ever played Duelist of the Roses, you’ll see how much falsebound kingdom reused its assets for this game. Music, certain character models, and the monster models It also takes from some spin off titles like the profile pics of Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, and others, as well as Yugioh forbidden memories, the game that was dissected to make the previously mentioned spin off games for the handheld consoles
This whole game is just character portraits from Forbiden Memmories and the 3D models from Duelist of the Roses its much more fair Sequel. All they added was the the Magnet Warrior Monsters and the God cards to this game thats it.
@@Acidonia150reborn I didn’t know that originally actually. I played falsebound before Roses, and before I managed to complete forbidden memories so I didn’t realize how shocking it was to see forbidden memories character models/pics of them for this game
Really wish we got a series of this type of game, although now they'd just make it into a gacha cashgrab but still would've loved the GX era monsters getting implemented. Also this game "caused" DSOD and Duel Links
If I can recommend something, videowise, have a quiet musical track behind your audio. Might seem strange but it drastically improves the watcheability of most videos.
I gotta ask are you saying the music that I did use for the background in this video isn't quiet enough or that it's too quiet and you didn't even hear it and thought there wasn't any? Cuz there is in fact music behind my commentary.
@@jhonjacson798 Huh, weird, I do agree that the music is quieter than it should be but for a moment there I thought I was insane and there wasn't any music
@@LoliFiend lol. Sorry for inadvertently causing confusion there. Also might have even sounded conceded to even mention to begin with, I have a tiny TH-cam channel as well (not this one) and always like seeing smaller channels in my feed. Always want to see them grooow
i played the crap out of this game when i was a kid haha. I beat each story 10 times got all characters..... Ya, that tea fight had me stumped for a LONG time lol. I would usually have 2 powered up monster's and one dedicated healer on a team.
I preferred a flex(illusory gentleman) a dps like dark mag of chaos and a healer. The blinding and multistrike from gentleman was always cool. And the harpy sisters were plenty strong enough for the majority of a campaign.
On the scoring system, there are ways to cheese it Making a normal attack always gives you 100 points, plus whatever damage you do Special attacks add 600 points, specials that involve multiple monsters combine points Missing subtracts 500 points Waiting subtracts 50 points Guarding adds 200 points This last one is the cheese, if the opponent guards on their last turn, and has a defense higher then your attack, instead of attacking you just guard yourself until you are out of AP, it’s not a lot, but it’s free points at literally no risk I have won many battles this way
Most honest and accurate review of Falsebound that I've ever seen. I really don't know what people see in this game other than the jank. Your complaints about the slowness are dead on.
@@MACA_Zeon That by itself improves the game so much. Even with fixing the speed the game is super jank and unbalanced, but it can be fun to find ways to cheese everything.
Can you imagine if Konami made a sequel or remake of this game? Like imagine a game like this but with Arc-V characters like Zarc battling Eve with her Genesis Omega Dragon and Zarc uses an item called Odd-Eyes of Hope wich allows him to summon Odd-Eyes ArcRay Dragon to battle the Genesis Omega Dragon
I don’t know how to play the card game so I want to get into spin-offs lol I’ll get this on eBay! I love “”””bad games””” and this looks right up my alley
Personally I enjoy most of the game's slow pace (the lengthy attack animations are my biggest gripe on that front though). However, the game has many design choices and mechanics that detract from the strategy experience. The game hides too much information to make informed decisions during battle as well as during team building. There's also basically no strategic depth on the overworld, objectives have no meaning and the AI is one-dimensional. I feel like this kind of game could work though, somehow I love this game and I still play it.
Honestly guys only use monsters that have something special about them. A lot of monsters have special effects on their normal attack too such as stun, poison, confusion, never miss attacks etc
I'm playing this game on emulator. And I'm genuinely enjoying it. But every time I look for a tip or answer video. Everyone is saying how bad it is. It's crazy. My only complaint of the game the sensitivity of the cursor in the Game. It's either barely moves or goes fast af across the map. With no in-between. Makes it difficult to select units as their walking the map. But other than that I enjoy the game and seeing all the models and animations
The Yugioh franchise is primarily for a teenage demographic in Japan. And by that I mean the mainstream series (not Rush Duel or series spin-offs that capitalize that variant of the game). Especially since the OCG (Official Card Game aka Japanese version of the game) says the age range is for early teen or older. The game wasn’t intended for a younger audience than that. It’s complex and the OCG ruling was more complex than the TCG ruling before Konami implemented the OCG ruling as a universal ruling of both games. But Yugioh at the time of it’s peak (1999-2001) was in the experimental phase. So the RPG elements were there for that reason. It wasn’t a bad game. It was fun once you got it down. I enjoyed the battles and the Egyptian God matches. The gameplay isn’t simple. It is complex at times. But that’s the point. Even the card game was complex since it came out.

Number one neo space fan here, can say with certainty the biggest problem with this game is that the developers did not look into the future and put neo spacian's in the game. Perhaps with the inclusion of Neos, aqua dolphin and grand mole the poor gameplay and story could have been redeemed.
