@@ninjahacker2 Nah man, many artists involved in this and similar genres have passed, even between your comment and mine, but rock still lives on. Everything changes and evolves with time my friend, and rock music is no exception. *edit: forgot about things such as sharks, lungfish, and horseshoe crabs... But the ocean is weird
Love this song by the Desert Sessions. I had originally thought it was only available on the Lullabies to Paralyze album, I'm glad I found this. Learning how to play the tab now :)
This is song QOTSA. They even put it on the album Lullabies to Paralyze (although it's a bonus song). If you're reffering to The Desert Sessions not being QOTSA, The Dessert Sessions was a bunch of bands collaborating in the late nineties making music and covering each others songs.
I used to obsess over this song like 15 years ago. I had forgotten about it. Now after a breakup it gets suggested and I check the lyrics for the 1st time... Life ha?
Could someone please recommend some similar music to this song? I've already checked out the desert sessions, I'm looking for this kind of western style rock . Thanks!
And yes I KNOW WE DONT have deserts in IRELAND but it could be "Sessions in the Woods" "Sessions on the Lake" etc!!! I have a few ideas and some contacts built up!! Lets put the session in Recession!! he he!!! at minimum cost!!!
@dookie2kie Hell, I'm English and I'm still up for that. You just let me know if the Irish Desert Rock scene could use a guitarist/bassist/vocalist/pianist/keyboardist. I am serious about this by the way, Dave
@RushAnthem69 its not a ripoff. Its one of those basic riffs which anyone can sing too. Desert sessions was when a lot of musicians got together, got high made crazy music. Ive heard a Korn song with the same riff, along with a Lenka song, and a lot of other useless songs. Josh Homme just turned this awesome. Not original but an awesome interpretation
Hey this is not a troll as they call it!!! Im wondering any Irish desert rock fans out there interested in beginning a "Sessions in the Desert" (to borrow from your name good sir or dam) in Ireland, yes Ireland, I mean a form of "Sessions in the note of C" type festival event for the future to gather all the vibe from the desert in Ireland kind of like our Sea sessions festival and based on the DUNAJAM concept!!! Add me if your interested!!! Ideas begin small and eventually gather momentum!!:)
These lyrics hit right where it hurts. Fucked me up.
mescaliiiiine i know how you feel bro. we just gotta keep our heads up . they werent worth it
^Tough guy.
Now it hits deeper for me, hopefully you all got to move forward, if you did, there might be hope for me.
Can't stop listening to this trippy song. This is just a masterpiece.
I think I've just found the sexiest song ever.
These sessions are so good... Rock is not dead :)
You're too pessimistic for me.
I think it's kinda dead now
@@OfSoundMindAndBody it is always alive and this comment is dead jk

too good for a tarantino movie
Been crying to this song for at least 10y
This is SO "Tarantino Film Soundtrack". Love it.
That feeling when the girl you had/want is with another guy really is the worst
Sounds like a 60s ballad enough that I thought it was a cover at first, more so the Queens of the Stone Age version.
I used to obsess over this song like 15 years ago. I had forgotten about it. Now after a breakup it gets suggested and I check the lyrics for the 1st time... Life ha?
This has turned into my fav QOTSA song...
next qotsa album should be pointed in this mystical direction, I hope it will be
yeah that would be awsome
You're Anine Waifu sure would
@Twisted monk that's just like... your opiniom man. I'm glad that now they're using more than two or three chords on a song.
Josh’s voice is like a drug 🖤
my love used to play me this song...she knew i loved qotsa but she broke me heart and now i listen alone
Fantastica.
To achieve the guitar tone I usually just use a bit of distortion and some reverb. I think the whole song really evokes a strong 60's vibe!
Love this song
I LOVE!! this song
heartbreak song, i still love ya baby!
I miss 12 O'clock Rock on KPFK 90.7. That is where I first heard this song.
Can someone give more history on this? Ive loved this song for years but have yet to know anything beyond it being a masterpiece.
Songs like this are created when Josh Homme takes his buddies out to his desert studio...
Pure class.
Tank you for the Song Love is licke drog..
Dead Combo cover is also like a drug! Perfect and intense! They need to play together in the deset or in Lisbon:)

Step by steph...Stepfather now...so glad.
Beautiful song
Dang, makes you want to get love sick...
But I know that you're alive inside...
Chill as fuck, just beautiful and atmospheric.
I wish QOTSA would do a cover of 1971 Luv Machine(band) and the song is called Everything... who agrees?
I dunno about you guys, but this reminds me more of Queens of the Stone Age than anything else...
Bootifal
2021 and this jam still isnt't on spotify. How am I suposse to live laugh love in these conditions
I regret the past 10 years of my life of not finding this song
Acid song.

Love is the drug !
The Devil's Candy d-.-b
hieno biisi hermanni
@ttonfire
That cover is pretty different from this version or the QOTSA version. I love the lyrics of this song too much to enjoy that cover.
my thoughts exactly : D
@sanjurodog You got that right my friend. Never seems to be enough...
it's a perfect song for tarantino movie
Good thing this song aged exquisitly with age tho...
the first thing on my mind. Clint Eastwood
No flaming and trolling on this song =] ,

When I heard it first time I really thought it was from Pulp fiction :)
@quentinjutsu I was not talking about Like A Drug, but thanks.
Sleazy
Dreamscape...
I'm amazed this hasn't been used in a Tarantino movie
But now you're done. It's just.... Your love is Like A Drug.
Could someone please recommend some similar music to this song? I've already checked out the desert sessions, I'm looking for this kind of western style rock . Thanks!
I would recommend Ghoul town they have a pretty cool western thing going on
Thank you
I know what to say - the ugly ducklings
Instrumental surf rock - some is really fast and punk-ish, other songs are slow and swingy, hope you like it. abominableshowmen.bandcamp.com/
Early fleetwood mac and 60s blues/psychedelic rock
sounds like a tarantino song to the max
Can anyone tell me how to get that pulp Fiction type of sound for guitar ? thank you
Not bands just musicians and making most of them. some covered yes
This is what a cactus sounds like
And yes I KNOW WE DONT have deserts in IRELAND but it could be "Sessions in the Woods" "Sessions on the Lake" etc!!! I have a few ideas and some contacts built up!! Lets put the session in Recession!! he he!!! at minimum cost!!!

Dude this reminds of the Zombies.... like hardcore. I think if any else reading this knows the Zombies will agree....
Only came here because I was convinced it was a 60's cover, and needed help. Doesn't seem to be.
Really like the vibe of this song
+parabol91 it was composed by Josh Homme, and he also plays almost all the instruments (except drums by Brant Bjork i think)
@RushAnthem69 same here man, i totally agree! Colin Bluntstones voice also is fucking awesome!
i have no beer i have no skunk
i enjoy song
i have no song

Spent a ton of hours getting high to this one song
What can I say
Now you are gone
Tell us about the zombies man we wanna know too !!
@dookie2kie YO, Irish and HUGE desert rock fan, would love to get involved in something like this if you're still interested? Get in touch.
The guitar riff reminds me of Pulp Fiction.
Tarantino movie. 'Nuff said.
This should have been featured in Pulp Fiction, possibly during the scene where Mia does the drugs? This is fucking excellent.
what about Dead Combo cover?
Reminds me of Pulp Fiction for some reason.
great one but only 2 and a half munites :(
fucking cool.
which one? can't say I recognized...
@mussman717word fuuuck yeah!!
@TheBlazerfan7 Cept that was released in 2010.... It's very possible they ripped it off.
This song is sexy as hell
This song is like a drug.
