Historic Clothing with Talon Silverhorn

Our series of artist videos were made possible with the support of the Iredell Arts Council and North Carolina Arts Council. We received a Grassroots Arts Grant to provide arts education content for our outreach partners and the general public. Talon Silverhorn is a Citizen of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe and has spent the last several years educating the public about Shawnee history and culture.
He often uses hands-on methods and an "arts based approach" to connect with people on a human level, as many Americans are unfamiliar with Tribal people in the U.S.
Silverhorn hopes to see more Tribal Citizens take up their traditional practices and begin to build a better relationship with Americans based on a better understanding of history.
