I'm convinced the motor sizing debacle was just a marketing gimmick. I think if he never said anything, and it's within the same rough size of a 2207, nobody would even bother measuring it or care.

I think one of the most important parts of a frame is being able to get replacement parts. With the exception of impulse RC and TBS source One you spend $100 on a frame and in a few months its obsolete. I still fly my reverb and my Apex cuz I can get parts for them.

This frame is not an easy build (revised from garbage). I bought it and it has so many problems. It doesn't come with all the screws to put it together, the screws for the arms stick up into the ESC, it doesn't come with any of the TPU stuff that all frames come with now, it doesn't come with stack bolts (I had to file my own down to fit), you have to replace the coaxial cable to the 03 unit, it feels like a $30 frame. The 3d prints on the web site don't include a GPS mount, so you will have to design your own. Also, the arm guards soft mount your motors. I have the AOS evo 5, absolutely the best drone I own. This frame is a huge step backwards.
(After my first thoughts on this frame I have to add, now that I completed it. It is a good frame, but not for beginners. I had to make all my own cables to make everything reach, such as the 03-wiring harness, and relacing the 03-camera cable. I had to design all new TPU parts for everything on this build. So, you better have a 3D printer. I take back my original comment of garbage because it really is a high-quality frame, it just needs a little too much work.)

Most of the people I know mount VTX in the front, ESC in the middle and FC in the back on 3 mounting spot frames. I have my signature freestyle frame that’s exactly like this. Ultra slammed, exceedingly durable, and perfect centre of gravity.

    • @lemonsquareFPV

Re the motor names if you want them to be easily recognisable by purpose then just call them powerful 5" motors. None of those confusing numbers.
I mean if they are 22.4mm by 6.9mm then 2207 is fair. But if they are 23.7mm and 8.2mm high, then they shouldn't be called 2207s for comparison purposes that just muddies the water. If they are as efficicent as as 2207 but they are actually 2409s, then that's great they are super effocient.
But you can't compare them fairly unless you know what they are or unless you want to totallyy throw away the motor naming convention.
Then of course every one will just call their motors "very efficient, super powerful 5" motors" (or 3" or 7" or whatever).
And then we're back to no basis for comparison.
Essentially if you are gonna misrepresent the motor size, then just sell it on kv, eficiency and power - and find a way to quantify those that every one can agree on.
Or we will just be going to meaningless marketing names:
"Would you like to buy some Power Sexy Tiger GTXs - they're super duper powerful, highly efficient - the most efficient motors - for 5" quads that will also attract the mate of your choice and grow your wee wee by %30 ?"

@@SkeezyFPV I wanted a cine25 or 35 after a year away from flying myself, but when I looked into them it was just Mr Rosser telling us how awesome he is and how he has redefined flight and improved everything up to the next level... All the hype traced back to him. (cringe)
He is probably a really nice guy but he comes across to me as a bit of a d1ck, the sort of guy you could drown by placing a mirror in the bath...

Very Nice colour the blue aluminium of the frame. What a pity when could only find it in black on all shops. One month I try to tune my pirate frame with these f***ing motor, I tuned in one day with the wasp majors.
I think this is just a marketing shit.

Putting a patent on a cut out is pretty lame IMO. I like Chris and what hes doing for the Hobby but C'mon.
