    I cannot express in words how much I love this team! They have so much fun, they really care about each other, and they are so bought into the team mission! There is no one real superstar, any player on any given day can be the hero! We've seen it so many times from guys like Adley and Gunnar, but having players like O'Hearn and Gibson who can just step up and make it easier on the young guys to not have to carry the team has been a joy to watch! Really looking forward to seeing what they can do in October!

    It bothers me when people say "yeah of course they're good now after being bad for so long." They literally had 4 down years (2018-2021) and if a rebuild is so easy, then why don't more teams do it?? The Pirates, Angels, Reds, and many other teams have not had any notable seasons in recent history. The Orioles deserve a lot of credit for what they've been able to accomplish recently, especially with their very low payroll.

Absent last year's record and, more importantly, HOW they won I would be inclined to agree with you. Yet, it happened. You, me and all of the baseball world witnessed it last year so it should not surprise anyone that they would be competitive and win.... the Orioles have admittedly outperformed, but even the pundits knew the O's were on the rise.
      Moreover, given the circumstances it was more than reasonable to suspect the Orioles would use last season as a springboard into '23 - especially so for a talented team with great team chemistry. Or do you not agree the Orioles possess such qualities?

You can win or lose just as equal whether it's home or away. The last time I checked the Orioles have tied the single season record for away wins this year. Yes it's nice to get a buy in the first round and gives them more playoff games at home. It gives the position players and worn out pitching staff a rest. Will they need to shake off a little rust in between there first playoff game. We will soon find out. Bottom line is just win baby.

      @@kashshhds8824 It can be an advantage or a disadvantage. It can allow your team to heal injuries and rest tired pitchers. It can be a disadvantage because your team can be playing hot then with a weeks rest they have to stay phocused and hope they don't come back rusty or flat. It's like starting over again. How many times in the NFL do you see teams who have clinched early playoff spots and rest players or the two weeks in between the super bowl. This effects players and teams differently so I think it's more of a mental thing I can't relate to it, because I am not a player. I can just comment on what I have seen the effects it has had on teams in the past. Ok with all that being said I call things how I see them. I hope the O's win the world series, however with the stacked team Atlanta has they would have to choke not to win. The Dodgers are no picnic either. Atlanta has had teams before that looked the same way and choked. Anything can happen and I hope the O's are a team of destiny this year.

    No offense to the Orioles, but when you purposely tank for five straight seasons to get the first pick in the draft, you should he pretty good after drafting at the top for five years

    • @user-pp6bp7vp5u
      @user-pp6bp7vp5u ปีที่แล้ว

      They didn't purposely tank. That's a false narrative often propagated by the misinformed, naive or envious, but for sake of argument let's say you're right. While it is indeed true the Orioles have picked 5th or better overall in 4 out of 5 previous years, if you actually took the time to do your homework you'd understand that only one of those players (Rutschman) has had a meaningful impact on this year's season. Rutschman has a lot of promise but he's not THE reason for the team's success.
      So, obviously, there must be others reasons why the Orioles are doing so well despite their draft positioning. Care to try again??

From 2019-21 (before they moved the wall), OPACY was the most homer friendly park in baseball (22% more homers than average). Because of that, they had to make a change. It's worked.
