We are so excited that you found a van! And even more excited that you are going to be in our great state of Michigan!! Here are a couple suggestions from my family of places to visit in Michigan: Ludington (Ludington State Park), Traverse City (wineries), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park… anywhere along Lake Michigan!!
Hey, I live in Michigan! Welcome. I know you two like nature, so all of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is for you. I just got back from Finland, and the Upper Peninsula reminds me so much of that country. Lots of remote areas, wildlife, lakes, etc. In the lower peninsula stick to the northern part, like Sleeping Bear Dunes. Of course I saw someone recommend Mackinaw Island. Michigan is bordered by 4 of the 5 Great Lakes, so there is a lot to see. I feel the most glorious time of year here is the AUtumn, so I hope you are still around then.
Upper Peninsula (the UP) is definitely where you want to go! Check out Marquette, a cute little town on Lake Superior, home of the Superior Dome. There's amazing breweries in the area--my favorite is called Barrel + Beam. Definitely head nearby to Lakenenland, a sculpture garden art installation that's open 24/7.
I left Detroit on 12/25/89, threw my down jacket to my Dad, flew to Honolulu, never looked back. Michigan is lovely maybe 8 months a year, then winter. Always winter to put a damper on things. Grew up in Saginaw, bean capital of the world. Have fun, lots of ways to, you might avoid Flint and Saginaw. Dpn't get shot.
Michigan born and raised here! You guys should head up to sleeping bear dunes and hit up traverse city, then go up to the upper peninsula and visit pictured rocks and lake of the clouds. If you guys need more please I have a google maps of locations to visit as well. Let me know
The best part is if you have issues with the van you have a kind knowledgable "friend of the beans" who I'm sure wouldn't hesitate to help out, he put his reputation on the line selling to the Beans 😁
British expat living in Michigan! Love watching you guys I have a 1982 Westphalia ! I hope you make it to the west side of the state tons of free boondocking right on Lake Michigan and the water is so warm! Message me if you want more info on places to camp in Michigan
CONGRATS from a Michigander 👋🏼 I couldn’t be happier to hear you found this in Michigan! I highly recommend road tripping up the western coast of Lake Michigan up to the upper peninsula! There is crystal clear Caribbean blue waters & beautiful sand beaches all the way to the coast through the UP. I have a few TH-cam videos with blog post guides that might help & I’m happy to give more recommendations or even meet up in our van and show you what summer in Michigan is like! I also highly recommend spending a night or two in Detroit! I promise it’s not what the media makes it seem :) Messaged you on IG if you have any questions let me know!!! Congrats again and best of luck to you!!
Michigan is full of great places to visit. Pictured Rocks is always a favorite. Sleeping Bear Dunes is very camper van friendly. And Copper Harbor is a lovely place, but you might want to make it over a couple of days.
Michigan is a state alots of campping with 2 parts the upper is call yupper land lot of cool places and rocks waterfalls. the lower beneath the bridge (big mack) lower Mich. West side of the state is farm fruit stands lots of city county and state parks. And Lake Michigan. Some larger cities and small towns. Central Mich can be rural or city. East side more city life but has nice parks and some campping.
@@darlenewillbrandt1628 Nailed it. The state has hundreds of state parks and state forest campgrounds, and they're all pretty good. Port Crescent is a personal favorite, but murder to get into in August.
Lifelong Michigan resident here, since you will be picking up your van in Wayland, Mi (west coast) you need to go up to Sleeping Bear Dunes/Lake Michigan/Traverse City area (Look up the Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive) you can also go tubing down to Platte River or go see a movie at the Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theater (one of the few still open) then go up and across Mackinac Bridge to the Upper Peninsula. It’s beyond a beautiful area to visit this time of year and the temperatures will be lovely. So excited for you both!
Just got back from the Pictured Rocks National Park area in the Upper Peninsula. You guys would love it! They have meat pies for Alex and you can see 3 of the Great Lakes.
The van sales guy is publicly putting a lot of skin in the game so you know he's trustworthy and I'm sure this time all is going to be just fine. Feeling excited for you, can't wait to see you pick it up. Take care Beans.
The Leelanau Peninsula is a definite must see area! Sleeping Bear Dunes, the wine tasting trail throughout the area (Old Mission Peninsula), hiking, biking, kayaking...it has everything. As a Michigander, I can say this is one of the most beautiful areas in the state.
Agreed, beautiful place! Also, they should at least drive thru Frankenmuth to go to Bronner's (the largest Christmas store in the world) open all year round!
OMG when I watched the last video, I almost messaged you about D&L (because I'm in the fb group, too), but I thought it was too late. Darin always seems legit, so I'm happy you showed him!
Mackinac Island is a must see in Michigan!!! It’s beautiful and you have to take a ferry as cars aren’t allowed but it makes the experience so much nicer. You can bike the island or take one of the horse drawn carriages. It’s such a cool historical place. And buy fudge. You HAVE to buy fudge! It’s soooooo delicious! Stay safe Beans! I’m glad you’ll be traveling the US soon!
Congratulations!!! I have grown up in Michigan my whole life I really recommend the U.P area especially Tahquamenon falls. The Mackinac area is amazing as well.South Haven area is beautiful as well especially along the lake shore. Good luck with your van and safe travels to you guys!!!
Michigan is amazing!! Granted, I was born and raised there and spent my childhood years camping at state parks throughout the state, but I am thrilled that’s where you’re starting your adventure because that state has a glorious shoreline. Pretty much Any.Where from South Haven and northward on the west side of the state. Gorgeous crystal blue Lake Michigan with crystal white sand and sand dunes - you cannot go wrong. South Haven Saugatuck Douglas Holland (yes we have one of those too with tulips) Grand Haven Ludington Manistee Sleeping Bear Dunes Then head to gorgeous Traverse City Beautiful pristine Charlevoix Petoskey to search for the elusive petoskey stones - a Michigan treasure (you can definitely still find them. Mackinaw Island The Upper Penninsula for rugged beauty I’m quite excited that you’re going to see this gem of a state with its beautiful state parks and gorgeous shoreline. I moved away many years ago but still continue to find at least a week each year to travel back and immerse myself in its beauty. One of the best places to visit in America.
I've lived in Michigan my whole life and agree with ALL of ur suggestions, the only thing I'd add is Bronner's - who doesn't want to see the world's largest x-mas store?! Lol! The novelty of it alone is definitely worth it!
@@Dani-il9wh Frankenmuth! Walking away from those all-you-can eat dinners at The Bavarian Inn barely able to stand up straight 😂 Such great memories. Bronners Christmas shop is divine. Many an ornament purchased there. Not on the west side of the state but worth the detour if you have time. ❤️
If you’ll be in Michigan, I’d recommend starting your new van life in Ontario 🇨🇦 you can work your way east towards Nova Scotia or west towards Vancouver. Either way won’t disappoint you guys or your viewers!
The reviews for D&l auto are amazing and consistent for years. I would have a mechanic to just go over it and get the fluids changed and maybe the spark plugs. Any used vehicle I've bought I will get all the maintenance done so then I can keep a scheduled maintenance from that date I bought it. Then you are starting fresh. I know you want turn key and Darrin seems like a stand up guy so it's just a suggestion. The camper van looks really nice and you are going to make some awsome memories in it. Congratulations 🇨🇦
Relocate spare. If you don't, you'll probably have cooling problems when you get down south. Make sure the a/c units are working, Both on the roof and van chassis. You'll be thankful that you did.
Can only hope for the best now since they've purchased it. Oh yeah! Gonna definitely need the AC down here in the South and some of the rest of the country too with other areas experiencing record heat.
We bought a Class B from D&L a couple of years ago. Hoping you two have better luck than we did. In our experience, their description of the mechanical condition was not accurate and we ended up spending thousands of dollars after the purchase just getting it safe for the road. It was ultimately our fault because we trusted D&L’s description and we didn’t have the van inspected by an independent mechanic prior to purchase. I encourage you to take the van to an independent mechanic for a complete inspection before finalizing the deal.
Hmmm It was very clear that D&L are very aware of their TH-cam channel, so I do not think he will risk selling them anything that could go wrong and result in very bad PR for him.
@@geoffuk8356 I hope your right for both their sakes. Something he didn't foresee could happen and it still could look bad for him. Hopefully there's some type of warranty offered.
I gotta admit, I've never had a vehicle independently inspected before buying, but I know a little about cars and I've always extensively test driven them first. If I see, feel, hear or smell anything iffy, it's a pass. It might be a hassle, but they need to heed your advice. Get the thing inspected!
I have owned over 20 used RVs from pop ups to diesel pushers including Class Bs in over 30 yeara of RVing . What you are describing is just part of buying a older used RV and when you buy from a northern dealer you will expect more issiue due to rust. What works one day doesn't always work the next. RVs always need work regardless of who you bought them from thats just a fact of life. I guarantee you still have a ton less money in your used one then a brand new one cost and have a better built one as well. Knowing how to do even basic to moderate repairs on a RVs is an essential skill if you are going to be serious about owning one. For example 25 years ago when we decided to go from using one recreationaly to full time for a few years I went to RV tech school in Florida and took the RV technician certification course not for a career choice but just so I could repair the majority of the problems on my RVs (our home at the time) myself without relying or waiting on a dealership and plus knowing It was repaired right the first time instead because many dealerships service departments have messed up more then they have fixed because they have unqualified people working on them (mostly chain dealers like camping world are guilty of that where they have 1 or 2 certified techs at each location supervising 20 untrained shop laborers that are actually the ones doing the work)
Michigan is full of beautiful campgrounds on lakes. Depending on where the van is, I would recommend that you stay on one of the great lakes ( Lake Michigan, Superior, or Huron) It's an incredible experience to be on a fresh water lake so large that it feels very much like the ocean.
This is definitely true. Each time I return to MI, I get in a couple of camping trips on Lake Michigan and enjoy the dunes. Also, head up over Mackinac Bridge and check out Lake Superior and Picture Rocks National Lakeshore. Its absolutely amazing.
Since D&L is in Wayland you should drive up the 31 and stop off in Grand Haven for the largest musical water fountain in the world, and then head up to Traverse City and Charlevoix. After than you want to stop off in Mackinaw Island and the head to the Upper Penisula for the Pictured Rocks and Tahquamenon Falls. When you're the Upper Penisula (UP) you'll be able to get a pasties just like in the UK. To finish off continue your drive west for some more beautiful scenery and exit the state by leaving the UP and entering northern Wisconsin.
Hi Beans! So excited for you to start your new van journey! And welcome to Michigan!! I'm from Grand Rapids on the West side of the state. I hope you're able to make it over to this side, the views from Lake Michigan are absolutely stunning and worth the drive! Safe travels you two!
We're Wisconsin natives currently living in Santa Fe, but one of the most unexpected fun road trips we did pre-Covid was the Michigan Shore Wine Trail. As slight wine snobs, we were intrigued and truly enjoyed following the trail. The wines were fun to try, the folks at the wineries were a hoot and we made our way to Mackinac and then came down the Upper Peninsula into Wisconsin and made our way to Lake Superior and then followed an art tour around that area.
From Wayland Michigan, you have the beautiful area around Holland. You could venture to Lake Michigan in Grand Haven. About an hour and a half Northwesterly you could go to the amusement park, Michigan's Adventure. There is a ton of stuff in downtown Grand Rapids. Southwest from Wayland is South Haven and Saugatuck. Both great places to chill and site see. Or just go for the gusto and head all the way North to the Mackinac Bridge and venture into the Upper Peninsula.
Congrats on the great looking van! Mackinac Island and Pictured Rocks Lakeshore are great spots to visit in Michigan. I wish I could have Emma’s soothing voice on my RV GPS! I would be less apt to shout at it when it tells me to do things like “make a u turn” when I’m on a busy 6 lane road 😂
So happy for you both, safe travels ahead. Michigan is a lovely state especially the area called the upper peninsula has many campgrounds. I cannot wait for next week 👍👍🚐🚐🥰
Michigan has lots of places worth visiting. The UP is very rural, remote, and beautiful. Be sure and cross the Big Mac Bridge for a thrill. The West Coast of Lower Michigan is full of quaint small port towns. The Henry Ford Museum and Dearborn are both worth a day visit. Michigan is a great state to start your US road trip.
Congrats on the van choice! Coach House, if you do not know is a small family builder in Florida. Although this is an early model, they are known for their high quality and excellent work over the years. They would be a good resource if you ever have questions or need advice. Anyway, good luck and good travels!
He was a great character, nice dealing with people like that. Tipsy Alex is funny. Good luck with the new van and your travels, will be watching everything unfold.
It looks like D&L Auto Sales is in Allegan County so I’d recommend checking out Grand Rapids. They have ton of great breweries that really started the microbrew trend. I’d also recommend going to western Michigan to check out the beaches, Holland is adorable and closer to Gand Rapids, but nothing beats Sleeping Bear Dunes. Wineries in the Grand Traverse Bay Area are also a local favorite but wine is on the sweeter side in Michigan. If you have a chance to drive through Detroit I’d recommend it, it has had a revival over the last decade or two. Downtown Detroit really has some amazing places to explore like Corktown, Eastern Market, Greektown, all have a unique feel. Like any city Detroit has its own crime, so just be aware, but a must if you are in Michigan.
Congratulations on your van! We live 20 minutes from D&I and one of our favorite places to go is Frankenmuth. It’s a touristy town about 45 minutes from Owosso. Beyond that you can’t go wrong on the west coast of Michigan. The further north you go the better it gets. Good luck and have fun. Looking forward to see how you do!
Frickin fantastic Beans in Michigan! Come check out Holland on the west coast. Stay at the Ottawa Beach state park on Lake Michigan, visit downtown for food and drink and while there check out Windmill Island. Travel north up the Lake Michigan shore to Sleeping Bear dunes and Traverse City. You would love the bridge area on the top of the mitt and especially Mackinaw Island, but watch out for the horse poo. Best wishes on your journey!
I love how you showed more concern about Darrin picking you up from the airport but was completely onboard with going back to some guys house that you met at a bar to see his "puppy" 🤣🤣 Seriously though, please don't do that again.
Omg that's how one woman was kidnapped and kept as a sex slave for over ten years before she could escape. The guy captured three different women ..he beat them, and worse, and kept them in chains. A school bus driver. There's a TH-cam video about it. .
So excited that you guys have found a van that you really like and are ready to travel the states. Mackinac Island in Michigan is a wonderful place to explore. Mary 💕Fred
Michigan has so much to offer, but my number one favorite thing is the Christmas store! It's located at 25 Christmas Ln, Frankenmuth, Michigan! It's just amazing place to be and it's Christmas 24/7 there And Frankenmuth is a beautiful little town with so much too offer! It's just a must see for yourself kinda experience!
I’m so happy that the beans are going to make new dreams and stories in the future. Darren seemed a very genuine guy. Even I felt comfortable with him lol. All the best on your travels. And I know that there’s a lot of others thinking the same. Well done xx. You do make me laugh you two
So happy for you! My husband and I are traveling in our van to Chicago. I have surgery there on the 15th. A week later we're heading to Michigan via Wisconsin. Now... the lower part of Michigan has a TON of wineries! Investigate "Harvest Hosts". For a yearly fee you can get a lists of wineries, farms, orchards, etc... you can spend one night for free and just support their business in some way. Michigan... visit Traverse City (eat cherry pie!), Sleeping Bear, (go sledding down the dunes), Macinaw Island... there's also a Dark Sky Park in the area before the Island ... Head north into the Upper Peninsula (cross the bridge!)... Whitefish Point is where the famous Edmund Fitzgerald went down. Head west to Munising, eat Pasties... visit Marquette... There's SO much to do in Michigan... and it's beautiful!! ENJOY!
I'm so pleased you've found a van it looks really nice and Darren seems like a really good guy and a good reputable company you absolutely deserve a little bit of luck after your last van situation
Congratulations Beans! Welcome to Michigan and your new camper van, it looks like a WINNER! Well where your picking it up from is about hour and half from Lake Michigan with so many wonderful camping spots. Seriously, you guys could travel months just exploring the upper and lower portions of our great state of Michigan and never get bored! Enjoy enjoy enjoy! Beth
I live in Michigan. Head north. I would say head towards the Mackinac Bridge at dusk to see all the lights. Also, take a trip to Mackinac Island. Then head over to Traverse City to see some of the lighthouses. Then come on down. I would say once you reach Detroit and pick up your van, take all the back roads. They aren't dirt roads, they are roads that you can go 55 to 60 mph on and you will see a ton of small towns. Well, traveling up north. There is a lot of state land where you can camp at one of them. The Leota trailhead is in Harrison, Mi. It is about the halfway point to the bridge. If you disable the freeway driving on your GPS, you can get to all the big and small towns without having to take an express way. Now the Leota trailhead is a graded road. But if I can make it down in a Buick Park Ave and not scrap at all, you can do it as well.
Congratulations! I am happy you guys have found a new camper van. I haven't been to Michigan, but I do live in Minnesota which isn't that far from Michigan. You will be in a beautiful part of the country and will be able to find some great areas to explore. Minnesota has some beautiful state parks with some great campgrounds, there is a lot to explore in the land of 10,000 lakes. You should consider making the drive to Minnesota and explore some of the Midwest states.
Hey Beans! Jerry here! I live in that area! I also did suggest D&L. A Lake Michigan shore tour is what I suggest. Northwest Michigan is beautiful! I have a cabin in the Michigan Upper Peninsula, It's a very beautiful area with lots of shoreline cliffs and woodland waterfalls! Weather has been hot but a cooling trend is on the way! I have a hightop van that converts from cargo van to fully usable travel van. I'm about 30 minutes away from the dealership. Jerry Out!
So excited for you guys to start your new adventure here in the states!!!! There are quite a few lakes with relaxing campgrounds up there in Michigan for you to test out your new rig. I hope everything goes smoothly and that you guys get to focus on just plain having fun while you're here!
Atlanta, GA would have been a good place to find a camper as we don't have much rust down here and Atlanta is a very large city with plenty of dealers around there. Seems like you found one though so happy for you. Hopefully your experience this time goes smoothly.
Congratulations you 2! Super happy you found one! Living here in Michigan, I’d highly recommend the Traverse City area. M22 is a favorite travel route with lots to see and do. Have fun you guys! ❤️
Warren Dunes State Park in Sawyer, Michigan. Gorgeous huge sand dunes and great camping. 6 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan to explore, 1 mile deep into the dunes, full of trails with beautiful forest and views. (I grew up in the area)
Well done, that seems like a great choice, I would have worried about the fuel economy of the bus. Do get any small bits of rust treated asap as rust can develop rapidly given the right conditions. The bodywork stuff you can easily sort yourselves while travelling. Then get the underside treated before it goes in storage and you will be good for many years. Rust is much more an issue in some states than others.
So glad you found another van. I just saw your video of your first van on fire earlier today. I was going to recommend a place where online I've looked at a lot of their vans. They sell new & used class B vans. It's a family owned business that's been in business for years & they sell very good quaint used vans that are dependable. The reason their used vans are so good is because they go over each one & replace/fix everything on the used van & also update sine things on them so that the used van your buying is in extremely good working condition. All the ones they've sold look brand new. If you ever need to buy another one, keep them in mind. They are Kuhn Truck & RV. They are on TH-cam where I have seen all of their vans. They are located in Sherwood, Ohio. Sorry I didn't get this info to you earlier when you were doing your search & all stressed out. The nice ones do go really fast! Again, so glad you found such a nice van & an honest & person to work with!
Hey guys, I just checked out your van at the deals website and it's perfect. If you don't mind, I have a couple of suggestions for the bed area. If you were to keep the bench part of the bed at the very back in a permanent bed position, you could put a 2 or 3 inch memory foam topper on it (it's kind of bumpy) permanently and I think it is big enough for 2 people. Then you could remove the 2 upper cupboards above the seats at the start of the bedroom and put a laguna table between. That way your bed is always ready and you still have a table that would swing out of the way. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
hey beans, i donated after the last van burnt out, i was proper heartbroken for you both, and it was so amazing that so many others did!! get the van and take it to vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my fav place on earth!
I've lived in Michigan my whole life a and lived both "up north and down state" (up north by traverse city and down state by lansing). The Leelanau Peninsula is wonderful and you MUST at least drive thru Frankenmuth to visit The world's largest 🎄 Christmas store! It's open year round. Traverse city is a wonderful place as well and on Lake Michigan. Super excited when I heard u guys are traveling thru Michigan!
What a nice guy helping you to sort out a van. If I was in the same situation as you, I’d be so thankful to come across him. So this looks like it’s the one and I can’t be more happier for you. Can’t wait till next week, I’ve got my fingers crossed everything went well.👍
Glad you found a van! Can’t wait to see you start your adventure in Michigan! I live in Kalamazoo on the west side of the state near Grand Rapids and it is a big little city with lots to offer, Bells brewery, One well brewery, art, music, disc golf, South Haven beach is nearby w/ sand dunes, and good food places. Grand Rapids is a great city and heading up north near Traverse City, Torch Lake( is the bluest water) and to the Upper Peninsula for pictured rocks. There is a small Irish island called Beaver Island you can take a ferry too( think you can bring the van on board). If you need a place to stay in Kalamazoo we have spare rooms at our house and space to work or park your van, just let me know 🍻
Staten island ferry used to cost a quarter in the 80s. You didn’t warn Emma to hang on to her belongings in the movie theater! - not from theft but from leaving things behind! Haha. I’M from NJ, BORN AND RAISED! I transplanted it the south later in life…. I used to do the bus commute from NJ to NYC then train downtown to the WTC. Great news on the lead on the camper. I love how God works. His timing is perfect!!!
I am so happy for you two. It was worrisome for your viewers because our hearts went out to you both when the former camper van went up in smoke and also buying another one is soooo stressful. Thank God that you finally found your new home and you can trust the person you are dealing with because he has had great reviews from others. May your lives become a little bit easier as you relax and enjoy your next journey.
My concern with this vehicle is the spare wheel in front of the radiator, could this lead to the engine overheating due to the lack of air flow to the radiator! I hope my concerns are not to much to worry about. Let's hope that you can get on the road and link up with the endless adventurers.
Hi! I live in Traverse City Michigan. We have many beautiful sights to see here, especially in a camper van. Lots of pretty beaches, the Lake Michigan shoreline is awesome.
Patience pays off!! Great to find a seller that is for the buyer and shows every detail. I would create a video of picking up the new rig and IF the dealer was good with it. Include the dealer and possibly create a relationship/sponser that you could occasionally show one of his units for the Van Camper community!!
Lea here again. I just now seen where you’re picking your camper van up. Since you asked for recommendations. Head west to Holland then north to grand Haven and keep going up along Lake Michigan. You can’t go wrong all the way to the U.P
You absolutely MUST check out the northern peninsula (both the upper and lower)! It is magnificent! You still have time before the weather changes. DO IT! You will not regret it one bit.
That's an awesome find! Having grown up in MI, I'd venture a guess that that van came from another state or was taken care of immaculately. Michigan uses a lot of salt on its roads in the winter months, causing rust in older vehicles. The fact that there is no real rust issue shows that the van was stored during winter months or may have come from out of state. In either case, I do like the dealer's sense of humor and the fact that he moderates a van page, providing information to expose fraudulent sales. Nice. Good luck and I can't wait to see your next adventure. I'm just curious as to where this dealer is located. I travel back to the Grand Rapids area several times a year and would love to explore other vehicles he has for sale. Cheers!
Michigan Native here, you must stop at Sleeping Bear Dunes and try the various restaurants in near by Traverse City. Then you should 100% travel north across the Mackinac Bridge and stop at Tahquamenon Falls in the Upper Peninsula. The Upper Peninsula (aka the U.P.) is some of the most beautiful land in the entire states and Midwest. Definitely continue your journey at Pictured Rocks in Manistique and Black Rocks in Marquette. There is SO MUCH MORE to see and do!
Woop woop. Great to see you are back with a new van ❤ If you need some places to check out, we went to some interesting places in the US. You can check them out on our US playlist (Sorry our videos weren't as well edited back then 🥺) Hope it helps. Would really recommend Centralia (Abandoned town with fire still burning below it) Abandoned trolley graveyard
SO GLAD you went with this guy. Clearly a van guy and you can’t travel all over a huge country viewing vans so trust someone like this who also understands the mechanical needs for the high mileage you’ll be doing. I think you made exactly the correct decision !!
Yes!!!!
The shorelines of Lake Superior and Lake Michigan are amazingly beautiful road trips both on the USA and Canada sides. Rarely hot and sweaty.

You are right about the bars! New Yorkers in bars and restaurants are a treat - friendly, full of chat, and helpful
You cannot go wrong just exploring up the west coast of Michigan! Such a unique part of the country. Plus the bird watching will be excellent!
East coast is amazing, too. It’s the sunrise side.
Head north. Upper Peninsula and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Totally agree!!!
Agreed, beautiful place! Also, they should at least drive thru Frankenmuth to go to Bronner's (the largest Christmas store in the world) open all year round!
100% lots of wineries!!! Jolly Pumpkin to eat at.
OMG when I watched the last video, I almost messaged you about D&L (because I'm in the fb group, too), but I thought it was too late. Darin always seems legit, so I'm happy you showed him!
4:39 "I've met someone who is willing to let me take you see their dog" tell me your drunk without telling me your drunk 😂😂
The fire extinguisher troll was hilarious… congrats
Mackinac Island is a must see in Michigan!!! It’s beautiful and you have to take a ferry as cars aren’t allowed but it makes the experience so much nicer. You can bike the island or take one of the horse drawn carriages. It’s such a cool historical place. And buy fudge. You HAVE to buy fudge! It’s soooooo delicious!
Stay safe Beans! I’m glad you’ll be traveling the US soon!
Looks gorgeous! And you don’t need to tell us twice to get the fudge.. sounds delicious 🤤
Yes!!! 10000% yes!
Yay, I am so excited that you suggested Mac it is so beautiful and lovely. You will definitely enjoy it travel beans.
There are some RV parks nearby on the mainland. Also, the Traverse City area 2 hours down the coast is gorgeous.
Oh, and Painted Rocks National Lakeshore is about 2 and a half hours north of Mackinaw island in the upper peninsula. Stunning.
My cousin was the salesman of the van he worked really hard on the van
Congratulations!!! I have grown up in Michigan my whole life I really recommend the U.P area especially Tahquamenon falls. The Mackinac area is amazing as well.South Haven area is beautiful as well especially along the lake shore. Good luck with your van and safe travels to you guys!!!
Emma is something special, you have done well for yourself there kid ,
Michigan is amazing!!
South Haven
Saugatuck Douglas
Holland (yes we have one of those too with tulips)
Grand Haven
Ludington
Manistee
Sleeping Bear Dunes
Then head to gorgeous Traverse City
Beautiful pristine Charlevoix
Petoskey to search for the elusive petoskey stones - a Michigan treasure (you can definitely still find them.
Mackinaw Island
The Upper Penninsula for rugged beauty
I’m quite excited that you’re going to see this gem of a state with its beautiful state parks and gorgeous shoreline.
I would put the largest external rv trans cooler on it too.
And tires, unless they know age of them.
For example 25 years ago when we decided to go from using one recreationaly to full time for a few years I went to RV tech school in Florida and took the RV technician certification course not for a career choice but just so I could repair the majority of the problems on my RVs (our home at the time) myself without relying or waiting on a dealership and plus knowing It was repaired right the first time instead because many dealerships service departments have messed up more then they have fixed because they have unqualified people working on them (mostly chain dealers like camping world are guilty of that where they have 1 or 2 certified techs at each location supervising 20 untrained shop laborers that are actually the ones doing the work)
That’s why I feel better that they have an independent mechanic check it out!!
In my opinion, you really made the right decision to buy in the US rather than shipping from the UK.
Awesome! We live in Wyoming. So many West Michigan fans. ☺️
Michigan beautiful this time of year! Go to pictured rocks for sure!
❤️😊
I just love her smile. It's so genuine. You cannot fake that
So happy for you both, safe travels ahead. Michigan is a lovely state especially the area called the upper peninsula has many campgrounds. I cannot wait for next week 👍👍🚐🚐🥰
The Michigan lake shore of Lake Michigan is beautiful. Holland and St Joseph MI are great places to visit.
The water pump on the short bus was the loudest I've heard to date.
Agreed! Said a lot about the build.
I thought it was terribly noisy too. I didn't know what the noise was from though. They didn't seem concerned about it.
Sleeping Bear dunes national lakeshore area. Tons of camping, hiking, rafting. Lots of light houses and beaches
Upper Peninsula it’s great and the west of Michigan. We used to go camping there.
Congrats on the van choice! Coach House, if you do not know is a small family builder in Florida. Although this is an early model, they are known for their high quality and excellent work over the years. They would be a good resource if you ever have questions or need advice. Anyway, good luck and good travels!
How exciting, lots of love and happiness from Australia
Relax
Omg that's how one woman was kidnapped and kept as a sex slave for over ten years before she could escape. The guy captured three different women ..he beat them, and worse, and kept them in chains. A school bus driver. There's a TH-cam video about it.
.
Righttt like wtf 😳😂 like that’s just toooo trusting
So excited that you guys have found a van that you really like and are ready to travel the states. Mackinac Island in Michigan is a wonderful place to explore. Mary 💕Fred
But you can't take your van to the island. Picture rocks in up or traverse city in the lower peninsula
Darrin is a friend of mine, and a really really good guy.
Fantastic for you both. 👏
Woooooohooooooooo huge congrats you guys!! Can’t wait for this journey to unfold. 🙏🏼
Ahh thanks you guys!! So excited to hit the road! 🙏💛
Warren Dunes State Park in Sawyer, Michigan. Gorgeous huge sand dunes and great camping. 6 miles of shoreline along Lake Michigan to explore, 1 mile deep into the dunes, full of trails with beautiful forest and views. (I grew up in the area)
So happy for ya Beans 💓. Can't wait to road trip with you .
🥰 we can’t wait to take you along with us!
Amazing news. So pleased for you. Watching from the UK, but Mackinac Island is a def see in Michigan. Enjoy and can’t wait for the next vid 👏🏼
Kuhn Truck and RV are great guys to deal with. Personal friends of mine.
@@DnLAutoSales Just wished I had gotten the info to the Beanes in time. Thanks for the info though. That's good to know!
@@alysonfisher3611 The problem is the do not sell anything that is in their price range.
Congratulations Beans! This suggestion totally works, we did the same to the fold down back seat in our van.
hey beans, i donated after the last van burnt out, i was proper heartbroken for you both, and it was so amazing that so many others did!! get the van and take it to vegas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my fav place on earth!
Really hope it works out for you this time! The dealer seemed like a genuine guy and a great sense of humour.
Haha he was such a joker 😂💛
Can’t wait till next week, I’ve got my fingers crossed everything went well.👍
Thanks David! ☺️ We feel so excited and grateful!
Go to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan if you can. Would enjoy seeing you pick up your new camper
If you need a place to stay in Kalamazoo we have spare rooms at our house and space to work or park your van, just let me know 🍻
I used to live in Kalamazoo and I loved it.
🙏😊
Can't wait to see your new adventures with Frank v.2.0. It's going to be fire.
Congratulations!!! I’m so excited for y’all! And I’ve heard Emma say the “van of our dreams” I think you should name her “Beans Dreams”
Travel Beans are people being conned on here- not by u Vicki watch out
@@anothercheryladventure9387 what? I don’t understand
Cheers!
Hopefully the Beans get and share the whole van history, and also look at the general history of that make/model's powertrain issues.
Wayland , Michigan is where The van is .
You know when a strange man approaches you in a bar and asks if you want to see a puppy, your serial killer alarm should be sounding loudly 😂😂😂
Yea no doubt, "come see my "dog" " 😆
😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😭🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
Hahaha wanna see some puppies 🐶 🤣🤣
Whoohoo! The van is beautiful, happy travels to you.
Woop woop. Great to see you are back with a new van ❤
If you need some places to check out, we went to some interesting places in the US.
You can check them out on our US playlist (Sorry our videos weren't as well edited back then 🥺) Hope it helps.

SO GLAD you went with this guy. Clearly a van guy and you can’t travel all over a huge country viewing vans so trust someone like this who also understands the mechanical needs for the high mileage you’ll be doing. I think you made exactly the correct decision !!
Ooh so excited for you both! …Did he start the engine for you ? So keeping fingers crossed 🤞 for success xx
🤗🤗🤗🤗 So glad you guys are back in the saddle 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Also ask when you pick up if undercoating might be a viable option so you don’t get into the rusting issue eventually.
Yea Beans! Congrats on your find! Excited to watch you pick it up. The sarcasm was great!
Yay! Can’t wait to see the next adventure! Hope you get to meet up with Eric and Allison soon too!🥰
Thanks Lisa! We hope so too!!
