Most people who would want this would want to use it for HF shortwave, any old radio has FM. A demonstration of shortwave would have been a better selling point as a video idea.
@@dxer22000 So you made this video only for yourself? Why post mental masturbation to a public video channel? "I"m not interested in SW" - that's not how you keep viewers, sport.
I ordered the portable unit a few days ago and while looking i saw these but thought they might be lower quality or something. I might consider getting one after seeing this.
How is the radio for reception on AM and the FM bands. And does the radio have a built in speaker because I would like to buy this radio and would like to know if you recommend it
I haven't tested it on AM yet & I did mention in the video it had speakers. I highly recommend this radio as you're unlikely to ever do better. FM performance is great
When I bought the radio it didn't come with the instructions manual is there a way to get the user manual on this radio please get back to me when you can have a good day
Hi this is Curtis Mcmenamin I have this same radio a couple of questions I have to ask you Set High Cut Threshold it is set to off what is the best position for this setting for picking up weaker stations and what is the purpose of this feature
I'm not 100% sure but I think its an audio related feature not an RF related one. To limit the audio bandwidth. I don't use or set these features. Maybe someone else can chip in with more info
Open the unit up and check. Mine arrived and only has 1 internal speaker installed instead of 2. I let everyone know what the Aliexpress Shop does and if they care.
On this radio I have one and it didn't come with instructions but the radio has FM settings on the menu and one of the options on the settings is FM sensitivity scan and you can adjust it from 1 to 15 what is the best settings on the radio for the best reception on all bands like the radio alot but need help on the best positions for the best settings to get good reception on all bands can you get back to me as soon as possible thank you very much have a good day
the FM sensitivity scan can be set to allow you to set the FM signal strength the auto scan will land on. If you only want it to land on strong local signals, then set it high, like 10+. If you have it set low, it will land on weaker FM signals
4:15 is this because of intermodulation?
0:36 I think the one on the left is for external antenna, and the one on the right for internal antenna.

I'm not interested in SW & are mainly into FMDX - hence this video

You literally have 'dxer' in your name? Sad pretender.
But especially old radios do not necessarily have the same selectivity or sensitivity.
Worth updating the firmware
I just ordered this one for home. IN another chinesse market. Thanks
its best potential can reached if connected to coaxial antenna port from there to yagi antenna and fm booster on terrace,,then see the reception
THANKS FOR SHARING , VERY NICE TUNER , REGARDS FROM LIBYA.

What is the weight of this TEF?
And is there an internal antenna for FM? You've received a lot of stations without connecting it to an external one.
yes it is connected to a 3 element yagi + a preamp. Its light in weight & there is no internal antenna
Interesting bandscan. Thanks for sharing. Were there Sydney stations coming through there on 102.5, 104.1, 105.7 and 106.5?
yes, the tropo was good to Sydney
Good radio fm for DX-ing
Is the receiver connected to an external speaker?
its connected to the camera via its headphone output on the rear panel

ok - I just did a brief AM radio test on my 200m longwire & find it to be a shocker. Way too much receiver noise & birdies.

no it didn't come with a user manual. I'll help you with anything I can. Its a case of pressing buttons to see what they do 🙂
if you don't want too much stereo hiss, then I'd set the Blend level to like 35dB. That's what I did

When I opened mine I too noticed only one speaker. Thanks for pointing that out.
@@dxer22000 An yet on the PCB there are 2 connectors and 2 amplifier chips. They are trying to save a buck and be shifty at the same time.
I installed another speaker and it works exactly as expected
