Definitely counter hold the crank pulley when loosening or tightening. That locking pin is not meant to be used to support the crank while torquing the bolt
drowization once you get the bar, it only fits on TDC. So when you lock it, the crank will be right close to TDC maybe not perfect but a little wiggle and the pin will go in.

no, it tightens hard and fast. It hits metal on my 2001.5 2.8.
Also do you have a vid on how to get the car at top dead center (tdc) please ????
