I just came back from Thailand and the Interpreter feature is very useful when talking to taxi driver. However, when you are wearing any bluetooth headset, the translated voice also comes into the headset instead of phone speaker for the other person to hear. Something that Samsung could fix through software update.
Thank you so much for this very informative video. I have the S23 Ultra and I got the latest update and I have all the features of Samsung's new artificial intelligence and it's very good now with this information I feel more confident to use this way of translating live when I make a call to another country. ❤
thanks for this detailed video. prior to your vid, i was trying to figure out how the galaxy interpreter was different or better than Google's. the fact that we can use Galaxy offline is a great feature!
Thank you this is a huge help, I'm in real estate and I have some Chinese clients the speak very limited English, this is way better than google translate.
I was able to download the Interpreter and Call Assist onto my Galaxy S22. Important to note that you can download the translation onto your phone so you do not have to have a WiFi nor Cell connection to have it work, but you do need to download the library for that language. Go into the Interpreter App, choose your language, follow prompts and download. I download Spanish another thing to note is that some language (like Spanish) have several options... Spain Spanish, Mexico Spanish or American Spanish. So take your time when choosing your language to ensure you pick the correct one.
Interpreter will be useful for me. My Spanish is very bad and my Russian is non-existent. :) I am a building manager in Los Angeles and I have vendors that speak those languages.
@CrimsonDawn-ou4og The accuracy is terrible. It doesn't seem to understand even the slightest dialect or speech mannerism. If you or the other person don't speak absolutely perfectly in the way the software understands, it will constantly translate something different. I tested it with a Japanese friend and he said the exact same phrase repeatedly and it misheard him in 3 different ways. We had similar issues with several different phrases in Japanese. That's a huge problem. It also seems to intentionally filter or change your words for "politeness" at random.
Thanks for posting. In my own use I find it buggy. I've had the phone for four months and couldn't find the interpreter app. Why there is so icon for it is dumb on the part of Samsung. The phone is ho hum

Thanks for the explanation, and I hope you did not have any problems with the Etna when you were there.

Russian is supposed to be added "soon".
Hey, is it possible to use the live translate on a galaxy note 20?
I'm heading off to Japan for 6 weeks next week with a new S24+, so will be interested to see how this works in real life.
I want to be excited about this feature but I'm not sure about the accuracy

@@bowtiebiker is it the same for text input?
@CrimsonDawn-ou4og That's a good question. Did not test that.
More languages anytime soon? For AI translate in Interner Browser as well? Do you have any info? 😊
That video is coming later this week!

Hello Sam. How to set up live translation on A71 5G?
It is workable in the phone call, how about the app or internet call such as Telegrame, whats'app....?
Does the other person in line needs to have also a Samsung? For this AI to translate?
No need

Thank you so much for this... I thought I'd subbed previously, but apparently not.
I think it is a bit slow, should be faster. Otherwise is great
Don't assume we all know how to open the "Quick Panel".
Ok, I googled it. I know how to use "Quick Panel", but had no idea that's what it was called.
At least you know how to google😅
