Was just gifted this game so went looking for a bit of a clue what to expect. Glad I found this cos it got a like and a sub for your presentation and delivery!
Thanks a lot! And enjoy the game! There is so much available in it! And also, there are really good scenarios out there. Reforged Eden, Lost Mia, Star Salvage! But first, just get used to Vanilla! Hope the tutorials help!
In hind sight I suggest that a new player go into the creative game mode ground setting and find the SV small vehicle called "The Bargainer" stand there and look at it cross hairs on it and use the right side key board Alt +O that is The Alt key and the O (oh key not zero) together that will bring up a menu that allows you to save the vehicle as a blue print click "save as" don't worry it won't over write anything else. Now the "Bargainer" SV is in your blueprint library under SV small vehicles just add it to the factory, it is a low resource vehicle. Having trouble finding Iron, Copper, and silicon for ingots? zap some regular rocks with your survival tool in resource mode even dig down in the ground with your F5 drone and get crushed stone turn that into ingot's in your portable constructor. Can't find Carbon on a planet like Sienna? Those wrecks have deco furnishings that contain carbon you may have to destroy the ship core first as long as it isn't an Admin core that can't be destroyed. Get on top of a vehicle that is off the ground as soon as you can to stay out of reach of predators preferably one with a mini gun turret placed on top of it like the timber wolf Turret not included in original blueprint if you do jump down the turret has your back. Press F4 then open the blueprint tab it will be the tab that looks like a ship. Save the game twice a minute apart before you go do something dangerous like take over the "Abandoned" base on Akua, talk to the Talon at the archery range first and get the mission to take the abandoned base, the game has a bad habit of returning you to your death point if you only go back one save game. You don't have to shoot everything and make everybody your enemy try doing missions for the factions to gain a good reputation there aren't enough You Tube videos on the reputation missions..
I used my T2 Multi tool to salvage a HV the game left a red marker on the map that I can not remove. I tried the map and right clicking on the tag marker and clicking "remove" but it wont work. It became a real problem when I spawned in my hull of my capital ship it wont take off because it thinks there is "an undocked ship inside the ship" Do you know of any way to fix this short of tearing down the hull for parts and respawning in a better spot?
@@socarnaytoo8518 Go in godmode. See if you left any piece anywhere and it might be inside of a wall with EGS being sometimes buggy! Use Debug Info command and find the ship ID. Then do a "destroy "ID"" command. Maybe that would work! Otherwise, you could always use the "Sector" command while in you ship to teleport yourself. I'm sure there are multiple ways around it.
I actually removed the corner of the capital ship and dug the ground down, I fired my salvage mode beam all around but that didn't work, I was able to get the ID by searching for ID using the first part of the HV name but it wouldn't delete the object. Today I fired my salvage mode beam at a block of the capital vessel where it said the center of mass was for the HV was, I got a "computer" from the steel block I thought Hmm. so I brought up the map and it let me delete the non existent HV map marker. Thak you for all of your help, love your videos. I hope you do one on getting missions to increase your positive reputation with the factions.
Hey'a Rakoona ! Well.. I finally have time to start watching your videos. Figured I'd start here. (lol) And thank you again for all your help. No wonder you are so popular with your followers. :) Have a good one ! ~Mu
Just an FYI the devs have added a new start with new tutorials. A lot of the danger is gone as well so first planet is more newbie friendly than ever if a lot less exciting imo. Much of what is shown in this video is what is now considered to be the first 'story' planet once you leave the tutorial planet. Although all the advice in this video is still very much valid the only thing I would note is that you will no longer find the Large Wreckage on the starter planet near the escape pod. There are still plenty of other small and new POIs to get you going.
Great advice for new players! But I wanted to point a couple things out related to the video. Expert clean transitions and very nice cuts and tip style. Love the way you put the video together!
Well, I do beleive you can activate an easy tutorial at the begining via the F1 menu, sadly, then don't have it in voice acting! And maybe it doesn't cover everything. Haven't done that in a while!
Of course! It's a pearl if you don't focus on the little bugs! And of course, there are different scenarios that make the game even more interesting. It's a steep learning curve, but you'll get it!
Try the Reforged Eden mod. It changes a lot of the mechanics and adds substantially to the story of the galaxy. The vanilla game is magnified tenfold in scope, immersion and challenge by this mod. However even the vanilla game blows NMS out of the water despite the bugs and clunky graphics, incomplete missions and awkward UI. It's just more fun and is being continuously patched and enhanced. It'll probably never look as good as NMS, but EGS inspires and entertains me so much more.
I usually go in survival mode for tutorial videos and put myself in god mode to bring in what I need for the video's purpose. No need to go grinding all the stuff unless I'm in the playthrough. And you're right, logs usually come in wood :D
The game tutorial is a bit out of whack, they get you to do stuff in an odd order. Honestly 1st thing I do in vanilla, is to gather (horde) resources as fast as possible, make a gun and ammo, build a hv core, place it build a small fuel tank and fridge, to stop your food from spoiling. Then add an armour locker and make armour. Then I set out questing. Giving you a bad building quest off the bat would be ok if you landed right there, but with the number of bugs and raptors around, you definitely need weapons before you do anything at all.
Depends on which planet you start on! You also have a POI close at the beginning that has a motorbike to go around with (Even though its crap). But yeah, lvl up and you can make weapons quite fast.

Got more coming! Hope it helps!

I hope empyrion is going well for you. it can be a steep learning curve, but once you get into it, it can be really satisfying.

Helpful thanks for the advice😀

Yeah, I could mention in the beginning of all tutorials that all tips are subject to change with future updates and might become obsolete.
@Mark Mowadeeb go nuts dude!
How did you get Carbon Substrate for the first Portable Consructor?
Hey! There are Carbon Bearings on the surface of the planet! It's a dark rock. It's changed since 1.7. Used to take Iron.
Great advice for new players! But I wanted to point a couple things out related to the video. Expert clean transitions and very nice cuts and tip style. Love the way you put the video together!
Thanks :D Appreciate the good comment!
This video should've been in the game as a Quick Tutorial-part. I died over and over, because I didn't understand about food and bandages (and GUNS).

Just wanna say thanks for the tips. I saw this game and instantly saw a better version of no mans sky and had to buy it

Wood logs? Do the logs come any other way? Also, you are playing is god mode; to put out a tutorial you should play in survival.
