I have one as well and love it, beautiful model...but in true BLI fashion the sound sucks. I'll probably rip the paragon 4 out and replace it with tcs as I usually do.
Ed "Kit" Robinson was a prolific photographer of the T&P from about 1939 to end. His by line has appeared in many books, and some of his best work is hanging in a special room at Lea's restaurant in LeCompte, Louisiana. The First Friday at St Paul's church on Lakeshore Dr in Shreveport was a favorite pastime for him and many others. I hope it continues. P.S. we chased the 610 when she did 80mph pulling 22 passenger cars on a hot day in 1977.

@LouisianaRailProductions there were three of us in a 1976 Firebird chasing between Birmingham Al and Chattanooga Tn. Bill Purdie, master mechanic for the Southern steam program, was at the throttle. We could not believe how fast she was going, and when I listen to my tape recordings, you can tell.
Yep.. we can blame MOST of the problems Texas has today on cities like Austin, Houston, Dallas, El Paso ETC. But HOOOO WEEEEE!!!!! Does it give me a good Jumpstart of pride in my state hearing about OUR road, ta hell with the Mopac, T&P what shoulda never died... though I grew up on the old Mopac main line, so the MP buzz saw still holds a place in my heart. But T&P is king.
Ya thats not gonna happen.. Not unless it gets sold out of state. Walt Pierce and his people will just pocket most of the grant money and the engine will sit for years
From what I gather from a few old head friends I know, Southern Railway pretty much wrecked 610's firebox for how much she was used. If these statements are correct, she'd need a new fire box if she ever wants a chance to steam again.
I’ve also heard that Southern ran 610 to the max and roughed it up. Reading on its excursion history, it seemed to be littered with various mechanical issues.
T&P fell to an early grave. The trucking industry likely caused their demise. Their big old building in Fort Worth became a big upscale housing complex. Glad it was changed into something good.😅
Just fyi, the one that was donated to the Texas state railroad has since been moved to either New Mexico or Arizona I can't remember which. It no longer belongs to the Texas state railroad.
They took the old T&P trestle down over US 77 here in Denton Texas 4 years ago You could still see the T&P markings on it. I always wanted to take a picture of it, but never did

I’d like to see a remastered video of 610.🙂
Another fantastic video that we enjoyed watching. Have a great upcoming Tuesday. Steve
Awesome video man! I Definitely love to dive into the history behind these railroads can’t wait for the next video!
I can't wait for your next video, Nate man!
I'm happy to have Broadway Limited's HO rendition of this fine locomotive. They did it justice with the fine detail, pulling power, and smoke too!
I have one as well and love it, beautiful model...but in true BLI fashion the sound sucks. I'll probably rip the paragon 4 out and replace it with tcs as I usually do.
I missed out on the latest run recently, so I’ll likely be waiting for the next one haha!
Man that’s crazy we would have had two T&P locomotives. They should have never put 638 on display up in Dallas. Just glad we got 610 still
We have 2 locomotives, you mean three
Had 638 not been we probably would’ve lost NYC 3001.
Great video as always! Thanks so much.
Absolutely outstanding video sir! This may be your best yet!
Great job. Very informative and enjoyable. Thank you.
I really enjoy seeing the old footage of these trains and hearing the
history of Texas and Pacific thanks.☕🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲

Hard believing she was pushed up to 80 mph! Guess it isn’t exaggeration that Southern RAN that locomotive.

9:13 what a pretty semi streamlined steam locomotive what’s the story behind that engine I wonder
Lovely video and was that the 210's whistle at the outro
No sir, that’s 2816’s!
Best models🎉!
While 638 being scrapped is very unfortunate, had it not be removed from the fair we would likely not have New York Central 3001 preserved.
Awesome story
Great video Bishop!

I spit out my drink when he said "Lima"
Try not to spit it again when you google “Lima, Ohio pronunciation”. Maybe at least stand by a sink or something.
@LouisianaRailProductions Nobody knows whats going on in Ohio
600 series on Texas & Pacific Railway were 2-10-4s in freight service.
I have 8mm silent film that was converted to DVD of 610 in excursion service
You need to make a visit down to New Orleans once the restoration of SP-745 kicks off!
What’s the status on it? Haven’t heard much update wise out of LASTA recently. Would love to make a trip down.
