Finally, I'm able to visualize this song with something other than Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle from "Young Frankenstein". No small achievement there, Robyn! You sound great, as always. And you look absolutely stunning.
I personally see Fred Astaire in my head with this song. But I do agree, Robyn made a great cover of the song.
I see taco. Not the Dutch singer that had a hit with this song in 1982, but the Mexican food.
@@troyhoffman9411 I see the Dutch singer! And Fred Astaire. . . what intrigues me about Robyn's excellent interpretation is the unexpected glottal stop in "puttin" -- makes it sound a bit Brit.
Young Frankenstein will forever be my favorite version. It's just so funny. And to think Mel Brooks tried to talk Gene Wilder out of doing that scene lol Though to Mel's credit, he only did it because he wasn't sure about it, and he knew if Gene fought for it, it was work it.

@@jackspraker3542 Well I'm 'woman folk', and I can inform you that it's a tale (released in the 1930s) about a girl who gets caught up in drugs and sadly dies as a result, some say she got out of it, however, and didn't die, as shown in the follow up song "Ghost of Smokey Joe"! Learnt about it at university. It's a song of it's time, but a good classic nevertheless!

This song always reminds me of the movie Young Frankenstein. After going out to dinner with my friends for my 21st birthday we crashed at one person's place and proceeded to drink and watch the movie. It was a great night.
